[sarcasm]Because we all know Jesus supported infanticide as a matter of choice.
God is just crazy about homosexuality- those people in Sodom and Gomorrah sure did get coddled.
I'm sure he was all for high taxes. (That 10% bit was just to get them started!)
He supported infidelity. (Clinton was truly blessed.)
Jesus certainly disliked the death penalty. (Which is why the Jews merely slapped the wrists of the people they conquered.[/sarcasm]
Oh! Wait! And like the people gathering in this forum, he was all about holier-than-thou attitudes and slander.

Based on the America extreme right wing record of late, I'm proud to be on the other side of that stinking corrupt pile of political crud that's weakened your nation to it's core.
My core values and political views have not changed much at all over the past 8 years, but apparently I have gone from being a moderate conservative to a unAmerican, commie loving, tree hugging liberal in the minds of many on the right.
I must say I saw it coming. After 9/11 the same people who accused me of being too patriotic during Clinton's term started calling me unpatriotic when I did not plaster everything under US flag stickers.
In the weeks after 9/11 when we would talk about the world and why the attacks happened, I was ridiculed for even suggesting we were attacked for reasons other than "They hate our freedom!"
When I spoke out against gitmo, a weaken constitution, torture, Iraq, homophobia and quite a few other things... I became a liberal (even though my views on all of the above were always the same).
I will admit I am bummed, but not because I am a liberal. More because I see how the country has been purposely split in the last 8 years and the attitude of 'anyone who isn't with us 100% is an enemy' has taken deep root. | |

If this was the 1940's, a conservative would be more likely to talk about how great Hitler is and how great our Germany is becoming after all we all now go to these great rallies and we all share greater common values; where as a liberal would be screaming about human rights problems. Its a thing of ignorance is bliss. Conservatives are in denial, liberals embrace the truth. | |

Hmm?~ like Carbon credits? we now have a unit of measure on "Happy"?
When did this happen? I was not aware , ~ I've been out of town. LOL
Since ~ I've learned to question anything~ most conservaties say, I would not
question the possibility that a statement such as this has been offered up and placed before you as fact.
I married into a stanch GOP family (retired AirForce & presidential Appointee)
For 11 years I got a inside view of all the,~ the happiness.
The first thing that struck me was ~ appearances ~ how things appear to be ~ is
greatly valued. They have a public image and they go to great lengths to maintain it
by whatever means necessary. And it could be the smallest of things that they attempt to hide from the rest of the world, ~ if it conflicts or conterdicts their image. They are willing to live lies to cover up the truth. The will hide the fact that one child is adopted or their wedding date , ~ leaving you wondering why? ~ Only to find out years later, this simple information destroys a time line and uncovers lies. ~ It may cover up an early childhood marriage, or a pervious life with sorted affairs, from jail time , unwanted children to homosexual affairs or hide undesirable family ties ~ thats long since been severed for a mulitude of reasons.
Like a cat ~ they cover up the truth ~ and leave you with an image they have built for "your " viewing pleasure.
They strongly believe in being self reliant ~ and that government is not the answer, but they will most likly have spent the greatest part of ther lives working for government in some capacity ~ It is the govenment dollar, where it be city, county, state, federal or a private interprise contacting with the government that they have raised their family on, ~ the first pigs to the trough so to speak.
They are big government supporters, and rightfuly so and in general, ~view the rest of us pigs ~ as a big part of the problem that pleages mankind. "If only we'd get a job for christ sakes!"
Would you like me to continue? ~~ with this "happiness" break down?
Conservative , dislike change, and the fear of loss paralyses ~ They prefer sure things, they build walls to keep others out and are happly content with the same~ inside their walls. Self imprisonment is their choise. The first man that yelled "Get a horse!" was a conservative. ~
I have many more wonderful and enlighting stories to tell.
I am a progressive ~ a very conservative one ~ I don't place a lot of value on my happiness ~ I place greater value on "all" life and the liberty to persue "my" happy!
And I find ~ the DNC women much prettier ~ making it a no brainer~

Could it be because the liberals have become what they hate?
To a degree you might be right. Most of it is being endoctrinated so hard for so long that nothing but their own views make sense...regardless of lifes realities. Imagine living in a world that doesn't make sense because of what your taught? That would cause unhappiness in anyone. | |

According "conservatives" we are both responsible for creating social and economic ills AND profiting from those same "ills."
And this is after they had a conservative POTUS for eight years.
At this point after almost thirty years of almost daily "liberal-bashing" by conservatives and people who follow that line of reasoning,I'm convinced that liberal is just a buzz word used by people who have no solutions for the myriad problems in our society.
I also seriously doubt that most "liberal-bashers" could correctly define the word if asked.
And that fact alone is why I'm bored w/ the whole "liberal-bashing" BS tirade.
No solutions...just more complaints | |

Like Clinton, there's an unmistakable attraction to the charisma and energy of candidates like this. They delieve rto the American people a product that the conservative side has been unable to achieve in recent history.
Out of the modern period of American politics, only Reagan has been able to equal or exceed that. In fact, most times conservative candidates have been substandard in that area, almost without exception.
Nixon ? Nope.
Ford ? Nope.
Bush 1 and 2 ? Nope.
Bob Dole ? Nope.
McCain ? Nope.
Compared to recent liberal candidates, the right's been outclassed by far, in this area of politics.

your discription of your country makes me want to pull up stakes and move.
I made it as far a Minnesota ~ 30 miles south of the line ~ beautiful country.
I just have a problem with the cold ~
We have experienced a hard 8 years of bashing ~ from the right ~ and I say this saddly,
there was 5 years of it that we didn't even defend ourselfs. ~ Not on Capital Hill, not in the media, not on Main Street. ~ and the bashing was relentless!
A feeding frenizy ~ that everyone seemed willing to suck up the indignation. ~ It reminded me of McCarthyism ~ or worse ~ the brown shirts were coming out in full force ~ desending addituted was not tolerated and you might receive a late night visit.
The patriot police was among us ~ stupid flag pins ~ and the like. ~ I was sickned by what I've wittnessed in the name of God and Country.
~ My American friends and neighbors , you have shown me a ugly reality ~ and now ~ I trust none of you
and maybe that how it should be ~ if I be an unhappy liberal ~ that be my most unhappy occasion. ~
