Other things help - being active on the forums, sense of humor, good pic, good profile, etc. | |

I have meet some reall y great people on here some write me at least once a day which is probobly what ups my cout but at least 5 new ones a week to say the least I am shocked | |

And it was the 3rd one that I just got the other day. So far so good with this one. She seems to be quite compatable with me so far. We spoke on the phone for an hour yesterday and we will most likely meet and we both live in the same town. Can't be more than 10 min. apart. Yipee! | |

I noticed the more i sign on, the more messages i receive, if i've neglected pof for a week, pof members neglect me too. maybe it has to do with people mostly searching for "online now" people? either way i can't even imagine people getting 100s of messages a day. | |

In the past when I had my profile unhidden I would get 2-3 e-mails a day on average. I know women get a lot more. They are looking for guys that are tall, funny, and good looking. LOL .. I seem to get those a lot on Yahoo Messenger.. and I rarely even use that thing.
Well, the upside is, that I'm not alone in wondering about the lack of responses. Misery loves company and all that .. heheh..
Funny though, how almost all of these profiles have women stating what they're looking for and when you message them, they don't even take the time to respond.
I had one person respond to one of my messages, but she was honest enough to tell me that we weren't a match after she viewed my profile. And for THAT, I give her respect and admiration.
Even a negative response is a good response - it can always be used as something to learn from. | |

But, I still don't feel like I get a great deal. Its all relative, I suppose. Mine have always come in streaks. It might be silent for two months...then, a dozen new little intros will come in a week. Most don't ammount to anything. I answer everyone of mine. A few never respond (even tho they were the initiators?) and most of the others fade out quickly. But there are always some fun ones going on, it seems. I have no complaints. (except everyone is always too far away!!!) shuycks!! | |

If you bother to send an email I think the person should have the decency to reply if only to say, thanks but no thanks. I do.
I know I am an attractive, intelligent, descent woman and I'm on POF? Guess we are all trying the web becos we are not meeting a cute, descent man/woman in 'real life'??

I sat down and actually post decent pics I think. thought behind what I said doesn't seem to matter though. whatever i guess.
