Posted: 6/11/2008 3:52:29 AM | The big issue will remain, whether or not I can even swing one of these this summer. With a new drummer/bassist in the band, and the fact that I'm now a key part of the band, if we get a show on the night that this is organized, I will be with the band, regardless of which city we play.
That being said, I haven't had a lick of time to work on this at all lately. I stopped by at The Club, but it didn't appear to be a night where much could be discussed. I already know all the details if it were to go down at Cheers North. Still not 100% clear with The Club. So... I'm still undecided at this point. I refuse to say which place I'm leaning towards now, because I'm aware that people from both places read this stuff and might be offended if I favour one over the other. That kinda happened with Wild Bill's, and so they're out, this time around. They weren't terribly happy with me bringing up the plus-sides of these other two places, and frankly, I don't blame them. I probably could have approached that a bit different. Not sure if they'll want us back in the future, but ah well. I have to go with the two places that approached me first I guess.
If it's done in Calgary/Edmonton, I'm afraid someone else is gonna have to do the footwork. I'd be happy to do the POF website end of things though. I know Kings Head has enjoyed us before in the past, and as far as Edmonton goes.. I have no idea where a person would set it up.
For me to organize it now, it'll probably have to be the second week of August. June is right out. July, pretty much the same. First week of August is a long weekend, so that's out. Third week of August... possible. Fourth one is a no-go. Fifth one (which bleeds into Sept) is of course not a good idea because (as Coldone1 said) of the long weekend. Plus my band plays on that saturday night (hey there ya go, those NOT camping, come on out to the Starlite Room on Aug 30.. LOL)
Anyway I actually want this to be the best thought out one we've ever had in Red Deer, and because of that, I don't want to rush it. The last one we did was in fact rushed. | |

There's other factors involved, but in all fairness, I won't discuss them here.

The location is set. Cheers North (there are two in Red Deer - a map will ensure you don't show up at the wrong one). The rest of the details are being resolved. It's looking like maybe late January '09. There will be a DJ (as there always is, since they do have a dance floor and DJs). Could be a guest DJ, might be in-house. There will possibly be a band. I know them very very well 
Otherwise, hang in there. I'm not sure if I will make this the last one I do, or not... if this one goes over as well as most of them have, heck we might just have to do one up in June/July too. | |

Keep working tcpl, say, how about a Cookie Monster Ball?? Everyone come as their favorite Sesame Street character and all the ladies bring a plate of cookies. The guys, being blindfolded would then have to taste a cookie to pick a winner!! The prize could be a dinner for two or a date with the lucky lady that baked the best snapper!!
