I would not worry about the height thing, unless it is something that you cannot get past. The fact that he lied about his height, is a little weird...I mean, unless he wears raised shoes, that is not something you can hide! LOL Maybe he is just self conscious about it...it is rather on the short side for a man.
As far as the height thing, unless it really means something to you I wouldn't worry about it. A lot of profile on PoF and people that you contact at first are very superficial(why not be a little, you don't know much if anything about the person yet) so maybe he felt a connection with you and wanted to get a leg in the door first instead of having the door slam shut on him first for being shorter than you are.
BTW, would you have given him a shot if you knew his height from the get go?
