Posted: 5/22/2008 9:10:34 AM | | Poor people spread ill vapours and are unpleasing in the sight of the Lord. My manservant is frequently forced to horsewhip the scoundrels out of my path while I promenade in town with other persons of quality. Oh wait... it’s the 21st century. To be honest the real question is quite the reverse. Why do so many 'ordinary' people hero worship the rich and famous, especially considering many popular celebrities have proven themselves unworthy of basic respect let alone worship? | |

His dad was a mechanic, army engineer then a RAF test pilot who came back from the war disabled from tuberculosis (had 1 1/4 lungs removed). His mother never worked after he was born. He went through university 3 times, emerging as a Matchelor and Master of Science, Batchelor and Master of Mathematics, Batchelor of engineering, Master of engineering and a chartered electrical engineer. His IQ (as measured after Uni) was always in the high 130's. Mine (I have done 7 0r 8 tests) is somewhere between 148 and 156. This disproves the working classes are thick theory instantly. IQ has nothing to do with success, it is how the IQ, along with determination and will to improve, that are the deciding factors..... plus luck and seeing a gap in a market. | |

higher social classes have a significantly higher average IQ than lower social classes
you need to be careful going down that road ,my sister has a IQ in the top 0.5% we grew up in a council house
Anyway a lot of the middle classes ,school their children to do well in IQ tests ,and the tests seem skewed towards academic pursuits ,for example good boxers ,or should i say pugalists so the toffs understand me ,have very quick minds ,but are thought of as being a bit dim.
I have always though originality and creativity are the finest attributes of the human mind ,yet I struggle to see how you can quantify that. | |

Posted: 5/22/2008 2:00:25 PM | I've never hated the rich myself or people poorer then me been in pretty crap situations so don't see anything wrong with being poor. There is obviously rich and poor people I dislike but neither because of the ammount of money they have.
My experiences in general are pretty good with both. | |

Actually I think the reason poor people critisise the rich is to justify there own misgivings, and also gives them a reason for remaining poor.Or should I say an excuse.
Yeah there are exceptions some poor and rich do mix but not very often.
I think rich and poor alike have lessons to learn from each other. | |

I agree, the comfortably off only have to look at the poor to learn that they should on no account ever become financially strapped. | |

Poor people do smell a bit.
So where does the saying 'stinking rich' come from?
I measure success on happiness and not wealth, most rich people i've met arent as happy as me.
I don't want loads of money...just enough to live a life so I don't need it anymore. | |
