Oh my! I see a pattern! I have also been lounging with the cats......thinking to myself: OH CRAP! I'm becoming the "CRAZY CAT LADY"! Nobody here has caught it yet (knock on wood). Last year I sprayed it with some super duper stuff guarenteed to get rid of it, all it did was kill the fish in the pond. The ivy came back with a grudge.
Fire? It still comes back and hard to burn when its growing up trees and on fences and ground in my flowers. Amy...only thing that works is to grab it by its scrawny little base with gloves on and pull the junk out...but every time i do i catch it!
I asked my neighbor about burning it once. He went off the ground yelling about then it's airborn and he'll catch it lol. I'm not touching the stuff. It's climbed above my head up my old trees in a masochistic attempt to strangle them. Think it's time to call in a landscaper.
I checked into that too Amy...it was too pricey for my blood and will keep coming back unless they get the root. the best luck I've had is buying orthovegetation killer and pouring it right on the poison ivy and then I painted it with a brush onto the vines right up the tree. Once it is dead though....remember you gotta pull the stuff out by the roots...I eally had control of it til i let my yard go when the ex left...groan!
We have all kinds of crazy wild cats. The neighbor moved and left three pregnant ones. They still are multiplying by the dozen. Impossible to catch or live trap. I can't handle those hairballs or litter in my house, had a huge Maincoon that I never asked for back when a friend babysat it one week lol.
