I will be bringing my son he is 8 and will be going up there on the friday. I am very familiar with this camp site so if you need a hand to do anything please ask me. I have the beach volly ball net, cricket set and lots of wood all ready. I am nearly packed already cant wait. Camping, good company, drinks, fire, fun,beach,all the good stuff in life wow lookforward to this one. cheers Helen | |

Posted: 6/24/2008 7:30:31 AM | Hey guys I'm still up for the trip but unfortunately it doesn't look like my car will be up for the long drive from Logan as my 5th gear doesn't work any more and my dad reckons my car won't handle the distance (poor little thing). If anybody is coming from the Springwood area or nearby and could lend a spare seat up and back, I would be happy to contribute for petrol etc. If not I guess I'll see you guys on the Mt Warning trip when my car's a little better.

But in case all the other cars are full, throw a sleeping bag on the back of your bike and come up. I'll bring a spare tent, and there will be enough eating implements around to keep you fed.
Afterall, don't you owe everyone your culinary skills for nthe weekend?

If they want to wimp out because it's a bit cold (OK, a LOT cold) they miss out on your culinary expertise. Also you win out, because my (our???) expectations of your culinary expertise is not much better than mine. So as long as the meat is not moving, not bleeding, and warm from a fire, I'll happily eat it.
If you ladies do come and brave the cold (we all have warm coats, and the fire will be burning bright) I'm sure Woody will put on an excellent meal for us all.

And Ricici I can cook up a storm in the kitchen mate don't you worry about that ;) the secret is all in the Jamie Oliver accent ; ) ;)

Posted: 6/29/2008 5:08:21 AM | Hey Eremophila and Merchans, glad to see you there. I can't offer a lift 'cause I'm nowhere near Brisbane. There will be a few 4x4's to drive over the beach, but the campsite is 2wd access only . Looking forward to a great weekend. Don't know if a convoy is coming up. I'll be getting there Friday lunch time. will catch up then with you all.
