| Booming car stereo systems... Posted: 5/23/2008 8:23:01 AM | | It would bother me if someone was playing loud music late at night while I'm trying to sleep. Otherwise it doesn't bother me that much. IMO many people who complain about loud music probably wouldn't complain when someone was blasting music that they like. I have seen plenty of examples of this. | |

Same goes with cars that have been done up so badly that they look like space ships.
Doof doof, music... haha. I like that description !!
Remember; Big suped up car = little penis. I really hate these "I love my car" types. A car is for getting from a to b. Nothing more. If you want to show off, get a proper mode of transport. Preferably something that flies.
If you play it loud, at least put some Maiden, Crue or Foo Fighters on....

| Booming car stereo systems... Posted: 5/23/2008 9:19:31 AM | Uhm spiral, I'm curious as to how you'd know that nice cars=small penis. Are you actually asking all the guys with a muscle car to see their junk? | |

| Booming car stereo systems... Posted: 5/23/2008 9:38:45 AM | I find it kind of amazing that with all the injustice in today's world people can actually bother to take offense at something so trivial and momentary as someone else's auto sound system... when did everyone in this country become so intolerant of all the wrong things?
Like it or not, that is someone else's hobby, they draw enjoyment from it, and yes, it may be their form of expressionalism. As long as they're not blaring it outside your bedroom window at 3:00 AM, I don't see a problem with it.
Talk to your parents and ask how controversial Elvis was for the way he danced on stage. Then ask yourself if that was so worth everyone getting worked up about
|
| Booming car stereo systems... Posted: 5/23/2008 9:39:48 AM | Because clearly the niceness of the car is inversely proportional to the size of your junk.
I can't believe everyone doesn't know this yet.... what are they teaching you people in schools these days...

| Booming car stereo systems... Posted: 5/23/2008 9:43:52 AM | I was busy learning history in school lol. Ya know, I shoulda taken pics the day before I got my firebird. Obviously the years of driving farm trucks meant I was hung like a horse, and it shrank when I got the 'bird.
I'm not saying I'm hung like John Holmes, but I'm not exactly getting complaints either. hell I may now though, obviously my paid off, reliable, but VERY fast firebird means my junk is shrinking.

| Booming car stereo systems... Posted: 5/23/2008 10:40:46 AM | I always have my trance thumping in my Supra, its like having a disco in your car....i love the feeling..........and i really have to question the intelligence of a person who calls it trendy, when not many people have banging sound systems.........if you dont like it , drive around....... or move around
It is definitely trendy in the younger crowd. I didn't know many people who didn't have or want a decent system when I was in high school. They were the same kids that were trying to make their Civics look and sound like street racers.
It only really bothers me when people decide to drive through neighborhoods past midnight making all of the houses vibrate.

cyberxen, first of all the OP is not from our country. When someone pulls up next me with their music blaring for the whole world to hear, it is just flat out ignorant. I for one love loud music, but when I am in the city or around traffic I always turn it down. Its just common courtesy, which is lacking BIG time in this world. As far as your Elvis analogy, my parents are from his era and yes there was controversy about his way of dancing. The BIG difference though is that you could change the channel, or not go see him in person. Its not like he would come struttin up to you at a traffic light, and force you to watch him while he was singing Heartbreak Hotel

| Booming car stereo systems... Posted: 5/23/2008 1:38:20 PM | Eh I don't have a good sound system in my car anymore, back when I was in highschool I did have a very good sound system in my car that made people in other cars honk and go "turn that shit down!!!" and flick me off lol! Ah good memories, however my friend whom I drove back and fourth to school with to save myself some gas money also had a great sound system in his car, but he played music (mostly punk) that wasn't meant for base....yeaaa I found out that i'm 20 something percent deaf in my right ear and i'm pretty sure that his car was the cause.
I just got about two months ago a new car a 2002 ford taurus sound system isn't to great in all honesty but I don't need anything loud anymore I don't feel like having hearing aids when i'm older lol.

Funny but my breasts didn't shrink or bloom when I got my 'bird :)

When you go deaf from your own stupidity...
Don't ask for your insurance or medicair/medicaid to pay the bill think of it this way... U DID THE CRIME PAY THE TIME... u don't need assistance 4 anything.
And if you come around here blasting music... expect the $2000 ticket. y the hell will i go to ur neck of the woods... u live in texas ... unless theres a walker texas ranger reunion i don't need to travel the world.
There was an area of California (or was it the whole state?) that passed a noise abatement law that said the cops could IMPOUND THE CAR and force the owner to pay for the removal and destruction of the stereo system before the car was returned. I hope they crushed a lot of stereos.
thats also vandalizing private property n ppl will counter sue.
cali has soo many restrictions ... u might as well b a tree hugging hippie to live out there.

| Booming car stereo systems... Posted: 5/23/2008 3:43:09 PM | Yes!
There's nothing wrong with cranking up the music and getting lost in your own world when in the car, but those assmonkeys that get systems put in their cars strictly for the purpose of annoying everybody around them because they are under the mistaken impression that it somehow makes them look cool should be forced to listen to something like Barry Manilow on those same systems at full volume.
|
| Booming car stereo systems... Posted: 5/23/2008 3:45:43 PM | i'd rather crank some black sabbath - dehumanizer "I" n crank it up ... ( yea that cd does sound 10 times better with a ghetto system ... i tried it ... even the boomers got mad ( ex . my old man who raised me on that kinda music) | |

| Booming car stereo systems... Posted: 5/23/2008 4:31:10 PM | | Little Wing, I may be older than you but I have been playing in hardcore bands for over 15 years that would melt your face off. Most anyone (including teenagers) think it's far too fast, crazy, and brutal. The age thing has nothing to do with this issue in my book. It's just a courtesy issue. Residential neighborhoods don't need the constant boom down their streets that set off car alarms. However, you have the right to do what you want. I just don't see the point in disturbing people in areas where nobody is checking you out anyway. | |

I really want to drive through the city, put spice girls on or vengaboys or something and crank it up as loud as it goes...i wonder how many looks i'd get?
You sound like me. I'm bad about that. I've got the Spice Girls, Milli Vanilli, and MC Hammer all loaded on my PSP and I'll cruise down the freeway in the middle of the afternoon with the window down blasting that shìt for all to hear.
I have no shame. | |
|
| Booming car stereo systems... Posted: 5/23/2008 6:45:46 PM | Yep,,,,,,M C Hammer rocks....I have no shame either and I will crank my music up, up, and awayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy...whooooooooo,,,Can ya hear me now...................... | |

Eh, it comes down to being courteous, as others have said. No one else wants to hear your music, and it is unlikely that they want to hear your loud exhaust. A system can be more than loud enough for the passengers without forcing everyone within a 1-2 block radius to hear/feel it as well. That's just being a pr*ck.
|
| Booming car stereo systems... Posted: 5/23/2008 7:27:57 PM | Reading this thread shows that politeness is dead, common courtesy is uncommon, and being self absorbed is the order of the day. After all, it's my "right" to express myself any way I care to right?
Please don't be too upset as the rest of the world decides to pass you by.
