While I enjoy watching Hell's Kitchen it is nothing more than a reality show that people stop to watch like a bad accident. There is no real skill ever shown in that show and very little room for creativity. I like top chef because these are real people creating real recipes on the fly. I find that far more educational and entertaining than watching people get yelled at.

I must confess to you all, I am a Bravo junkie. Not only am I hooked on top chef, I love project runway, housewives of the OC and New York, the dance one (name escapes me right now) you name them, I'm hooked, but Top Chef is my favorite. Probably because I have a HUGE crush on Tom Coliquio, the very sexy bald lead judge. Anyway, I do think Richard is the most diverse chef, but I really like Stephanie, she may not have all the tricks that he does, but I think she is an imaginative, creative chef, and I'd like to see a woman win.
Lisa must GO HOME NOW!!!!

Scary that I know this but the "dance" show is called "step it up and dance", hosted by Elizabeth Berkeley from "Saved by the Bell". I don't recall a lot of dancing going on in that series but perhaps I missed a few seasons! Not trying to sound catty but I could dream up 100 other possibly candidates that actually dance and perform that could have hosted that show. I personally don't feel the woman can act her way out of a box but have to give the Bravo people credit, she is pretty, even though I doubt she has ever danced a single performance such as the show prevails. I was a dancer for 17 years and sorry to say that it amazes me when they put a host in that position who doesn't seem to understand some of the simpliest moves. Nevertheless, it is astounding to watch in all honesty! Enough said!

I must agree with you Tom has something going on and not sure I can quite put my finger on it but not overly confident that it's the bald thing (but yes he wears it well) but yes agreed he does have something and is a great host for that show. I'd like to see a woman win as well and in Stephanie''s case she has a good chance. However, I do feel that Richard has more imagination to win this thing, unfortunately, as I also feel that Stephanie is one of the most strongest characters for the "women" we have had on that show in quite a while, I feel that "Richard" is the most talented and pleasant to work with. He's always so cheery, kind and thoughtful. You have to respect that! Stephanie is very honest as well and down to earth and appreciative of all that is around her but I think that Richard has something that the judges won't pass up when and if it comes down to a decision! It's my opinion! Stephanie and Richard make an amesome team but unfortunately it's called Top Chef and not pural so there can only be one winner! I feel that Richard's imagination and ideas on food surpass many that I know in the business. It will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow night.

Thanks for allowing me to share.

I love TC and Hell's Kitchen. I agree that there are no real memorable characters this year. I think TC is a little too gourmet for a lot of people. I dont understand a lot of the terms they use in converestation. I read the blogs on Bravo and although it is about TC I guess this could be for HK also. A lot of people talk about these cooks swearing incessantly. I dont mind, hell I am retired from the US Navy and have heard LOTS of bad words (there is an unstubstantiated rumor that I might have even invented some of them) but I think the production people kind of encourage it for effect.
As for this year, I think Richard and Antonia probably will be there in the end.

Yes, agreed and admittedly, I also do watch Iron Chef Challenge and the recipe THROW Down Challenges, as well. You just "gotta" love Bobby Flay! He's a delight. I haven't visited that Hell's Kitchen and honestly it doesn't look like something I would enjoy (the yelling and screaming) but hey I said that about many shows that I am now watching and thought I never would be. LOL.

I love Top Chef, it's my favorite program of that style. I'm not a fan of Hell's Kitchen because they fake the drama too much in it and the narration got annoying to me.

My favorite this season was Dale, I'm sad he didn't win. :\ I missed tonights episode (Watch it later, thank you DVR!) but I hope Richard or Stephanie get it by this point.

I love Top chef. I just started watching last year, and was more attached to the characters last season. I think Stephanie, Richard & Antonia are very likable - so I will be happy if any one of them wins. I can't see Lisa win - there is no way.
I am a big Bobby Flay fan too. My ex used to watch the Iron Chef (before they had the American version)and there was one where Bobby beat the Iron Chef and jumped on the table. I guess it was a very big deal as the Iron Chefs were very offended.
It was so**** & self assured. that is when I developed my crush :) Go USA!
I hope Stephanie wins this year. A female top chef- we are due!!

I think Richard is the best chef out of all four seasons. I think ever season kinda has it's own feel, Season 3 was my least fav. but was still good. I am really enjoying this season, I think Stef, Spike and Richard are all awsome.

So did you watch last night? Can you believe they let go of Spike and kept Lisa? Geez....but at least there's 3 women so the chances are good that a female will win! However, that said, I agree that Richard is probably the best all-around chef...

Debbie

PS Does anyone else love Dinner Impossible? I really like that guy, Robert Irvine, and love the things he comes up with!

Wow...that was an interesting challenge. Stephanie won...good for her! I like her alot. Dang, she won a suite of GE appliances...cool!

Huge Richard fan here now, I'm hoping he wins the whole deal. They did pick the correct top 3.

I think they are just keeping Lisa around for the dramatic effect at this point. Her cross armed sour puss posture at the Judge's table just ticks me off...I'd prefer Spike's brand of drama. She'll obviously be the next to go.....enough already! Uncle! I don't care what that guest judge said, peanut butter mashed potatoes just sound disgusting. (can only imagine what they LOOK like)

As for the letting go of Spike verses Lisa, the one judge said, "it's not a personality contest, it's a cooking contest...", and basically he was telling the judges that they had to put their own personal feelings aside, as they were their to judge "food" and not the personalities of the person cooking the meals. I think that would be hard when someone rubs you the wrong way or stands before you with major attitude. I would think one would develop adverse feelings for someone and would almost make one want to find things wrong with their meals so one could vote them off. I guess that's why I wasn't called in as a judge LOL.

I honestly feel that it could have went either way between Spike or Lisa, but Spike sort of shot himself in the foot when he made the comment about it being "his restuarant" and having the frozen scallops in the walk in. I think if they tossed a coin from that point, it was a 2-headed coin and from the look on Tom's face when Spike made that comment...you just sort of knew it was Spike that was gone.

As for the final 4 left, I do feel that it's going to come down to Stephanie and Richard. It could be a total surprise and Antonia could win but if Lisa wins, it will ruin the whole concept of the show for me as the "Top Chef" and perhaps I may never watch it again. To me "Top Chef" means cooking skills, person skills, and just being a well-rounded and grounded individual. Unfortunately, I don't see those qualities in Lisa. Richard is a delight, always a gentleman, seems to really and truly care about others around him and he loves what he does, cooking. Stephanie is just a cutie and I've liked her from the opening episode. I think she is very down to earth and spot on with her cooking and able to fess up when she feels its not. It's a strong quality in a person and in a chef to be able to take Criticism and more importantly apply it to yourself and make things better next time. Antonia has grown on me more and she has turned out to be a good chef and a likeable person. I liked what Judge Gale said about Antonia "putting heart into her food" and I am beginning to see that about her more and more. I wished I had something good to say about Lisa but I'm sorry I don't. From day one she's been sort of whining and complaining and back biting to others and I just can't bring myself to like her.

All in all, I wouldn't be disappointed if either one Richard or Stephanie won. I'd be surprised if Antonia does as I haven't counted her totally out I just feel Richard and Stephanie are much stronger chefs. If Lisa won, like I said before, it would totally ruin my concepts of what the title "top chef" meant.

I'm looking forward to next week.

I have loved the show since the beginning. WTF ase they thinking letting Lisa get this far. I can't stand her or her cooking. The reason Dale went & not her that week, even though she has screwed up before, was he was team leader. I love when Anthony Bourdain is on. I've been attracted to him for many years now. He's one of the few guys that gets better with age. When you read his books, the novels too, they always have sex in them. I think he's a very sexual guy. I think he even quit smoking which makes him even hotter! (but it's because of his baby)

Lisa to me, looks dirty. I wouldn't want her cooking my food.

I think Stephanie should win. She to me, deserves it as much as RIchard, but she in some sense is more genuine!

WFT is right! I'm sorry Lisa should have been gone a long time ago and I'm telling you if she wins Top Chef, I won't be watching anymore! Antonia was not my favorite but she was better than Lisa all the way around! Next week is the final and I guess they have me captive for one more episode!

It's unbelievable that Antonia did such a poor job, as she said, to go home for such a silly thing as undercooked beans! But as in so many of these challenges, you're only as good as the last thing you cooked, and some excellent chefs have bitten the dust over poor choices and bad luck. Look at Stephanie's pork belly being left out all night by Dale! That could have been a major problem and it wouldn't have even been her fault.

And Lisa getting all bent out of shape because they didn't congratulate her - hey, if you keep on saying it's not a popularity contest, well then suck it up when you aren't popular!

I hope Stephanie wins, just to get a female winner in there, but I bet it will be Richard, who's also a great chef and a nice guy. It was a neat surprise that he won that car!

Yes i was thrilled that Richard won the challenge and the car!!! WOW! He looked devastated after the Quick Fire so he really brought it on...I was kind of surprised because it didn't seem like the Judges loved his food at the tasting. Dang it sure looked good to me though...YUM! (but the pig? kinda gross!).

I really like the Gordon Ramsey show 'Kitchen Nightmares', as an ex chef I can tell you that although a lot of folk go on about how bad his language is its nothing compared to how 'heated' things actually get in the kitchen at service time. I also like the Anthony Bordain show on the travel Channel, the show he did on France/Paris has to be an all time classic.

I was extremely amused when she walked in and they forgot to congratulate Lisa. That was just so deserving. They weren't rude to her or mean, they didn't say anything derogatory her... they just simply didn't welcome her back into the fold. I have a lot of respect for Richard and Stephanie. I think at this point I want Stephanie to win, she seems a little stronger than Richard and I really enjoy her honest and humble personality.
