Harry Caray & Steve Stone was the best Cubs broadcasting duo of all-time. It was a very sad day for Cub fans everywhere when Harry passed away. It's an absolute shame that he didn't get to witness the magical home run race between Sosa & McGwire in the summer of '98./quote]

Yeah i never really cared for Chip Caray at all.

Chick Hearn made such phrases as "slam dunk" and "air ball" and "no harm, no foul" common vernaculars. His famous quote that I was referring to earlier was:

Hearn would say: ''You can put this one in the refrigerator. The door's closed, the light's out, the eggs are cooling, the butter's getting hard and the Jell-O is jiggling.''

That was his way of saying that the game is over! The guy started his carrer in 1965 and called 3,338 consecutive games.

Well, with the Lakers' illustrious history, he was saying: Hit the road Jack.

Harry Kalas from the Phillies is a good one also. He's the lead voice for NFL Films.

Cannot Stand: Joe Morgan-ESPN-(racist jerk), Jonny Miller-ESPN, (Fat Jerk who says nothing relative to the game)

Darrin Jackson (Hawk's Turd) & Ken "the Hawk" Harrelson. (White sox baseball) If I have to hear "He gone! or Can-o-Corn or You can put it on the board....YES!" one more time, I think Im gonna Puke!

Marv Albert - Back biting whacko? YESSSSSH! - enough said.

Better announcers to me: Steve Stone, Harry Caray, Jack Brickhouse, Bob Brenly, Len Kasper, Mark Grace and a bunch of others ... I forget the name of the guy for the Dodgers, he is good too.

A thousand hail mary's for that news.
Should have been done twenty years ago.
And they shoot it out and they bring it back in and over it goes to the far side and they shoot it back out, and that fails to work so here they come again...and the wings are changing.... good god.

I've been putting the radio on for games for over a decade rather than have to suffer thru 2 or 3 hours of that guy. Maybe now they'll put hughson and simpson in there regular and try and sell this game a bit better. Hughson's come a long long way from his early days sportscasting. Him and Simpson are very good at calling a game. They even tell you who's on the ice besides them and they.

Enjoy your retirement Bob Cole. I'm sure many young canadians grew up listening to you and only you and that's all they know. But for me, they should have farmed him out 2 decades ago. The guy couldn't shine Jack Dennett, Danny Gallivan, Dan Kelley or Bill Hewitt's shoes.

That wouldn't still be Vin Scully would it?

Marv Albert and Dr Jack are the best when driving home to catch that big game or on T.V. As a yankee fan Mel Allen "how about that"

Agree with alot of the above.

Don't know if anyone mentioned Vin Scully.

I was listening to Chick Hearn's radio show in the 70's when a lady called in and suggested the "eggs are cooling" phrase. I thought it was kinda lame at the time but Chick went on and used it with every win.

I was sorry to see Al Michaels get such a sweet NFL deal because he was one of the best BASEBALL announcers of all time.

John Madden, his act is getting old. Billy Packer is one of the all time worse I call him Mr. ACCM if a team is not with the acc THEY DONT BELONG ON THE COURT, HE COMPLAIANS EVERY TIME A REF CALLS A FOUL ON AN ACCPLAYER. BACK IN 85 HR SAID THE ACC WAS THE BEST CONFERANCE EVEN WITH 3 TEAMS FROM THE BIG EAST IN THE FINAL FOR, 0 FROM THE ACC.HARRY KALAS WITH THE PHILLIES IS GREAT HIS COLOR MAN CHRIS WHEELER IS THE WORSTM HE NEVER SHUTS UP. I WONDER IF HE IS PAID BY EACH WORD HE SAYS. KEITH JACKSON WAS THE BEST COLLEGE FOOTBALL ANNOUNCER EVER.

I can deal with the bad sports announcers on the television b/c I can still watch the actioin. One thing I can't stand is a horrible radio team where I HAVE to depend on their every word.
