| If the Polo shirts are out, what the heck are we supposed to wear? Posted: 5/28/2008 5:15:21 PM |
What the heck is in style? How about helping out those of us who are fashion challenged...
Seems like the only times I ever get picked up when I am in public are when I am wearing a sweatshirt or something that makes me look like I "am not" trying to meet someone. Interesting because that is what I find myself attracted to in women (no makeup, simple clothes and a baseball cap)!

I find going bare chested and wearing a doo-rag is a huge chick magnet for me. Now picture my pale ass dessed like that Really? Just a doo-rag and nothing else huh? You didn't mention pants. Now THAT's a fashion statement.

Head to the nearest men's department and pick out a few button up shirts in colors and/or patterns you like, suit your complexion and aren't garish or trendg. No, not oxfords. Many will be no-iron shirts.
Bring a female friend if you are stumped about colors, or ask one of the female (or gay) clerks to help you decide once you have picked out some choices.
Colored matching T-shirt underneath can be good, but this can be a very youthful look, so it's up to you to decide if you can pull it off or not.

I think I will buy that Carson book that someone mentioned. I read the stuff on it on Amazon.... sounds good.
Where did I hear that polo's were out... It was on another thread here on the Fish, (So it must be true?)

So at the age of 45, I finally put on a black polo shirt and was told that it looks good on me, and that black is my color... So today... I read that these things are now out of style... La.. De... Da... I went from a button down to the freakin' polo... I seem to be out of sync here... What the heck is in style? How about helping out those of us who are fashion challenged... Please. Tan shoes with pink shoelaces A polka dot vest and man, oh, man Tan shoes with pink shoelaces And a big Panama with a purple hat band

Tell the "experts" to and wear your polo shirts if you like them.
I have never worn one in my life because I think that they make women look butch.

Miss W; I don't think there is an article of clothing made that could make you look butch! Thanks PS!
My last GF was very fashion conscious and hated the Golf Shirts, so they must be out! Golf has never been the most fashionable of sports.

Not too mention they were ball crushers!
I guess, on that one she was right! We shouldn't always wear what we like, unless we want to look retarded! Sometimes anothers input is good!

Belstaff jackets(I have a few, actually. And they are great if you do ride motorcycles), dark jeans that are un-faded of course, suit styles are still leaning towards notch-lapels and three-button variants, etc.
However, if you wear polo shirts(which I don't. I cut it at suits, button-ups, turtle necks and blazers), more power to you. The thing about style is personal style. McQueen's proved this, and his style is still "living" on today. Try on anything that fits your features, live with it, see how people respond to it, and you'll win. But I've never been a t-shirts and jeans kind of guy.

They also started a jewelry and women's line this year. Neiman Marcus and Nordstroms carry the brand
