| This is my story. Posted: 5/28/2008 7:27:31 PM | he only reason I bother is for the desire of closure. I would like to hear the words "I am not interested in seeing you again" or something similar, and perhaps even a short explanation as to why. I am mature enough to take criticism and rejection, in fact I prefer it to the simple brushoff. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you want to raise your maturity a notch, don't worry about it. When you think about it, there is no social contract that says people who aren't interested in us (or flat out don't like us) need to explain anything. That's the deal. At best, we aren't their type, at worst we get a long list of our character defects. Sometimes its helpful to know what they are, in case we are personally blind, immature, selfish etc.
If you are lucky, once in a while someone will "clue you in". GO HOME AND WRITE THAT DOWN, you don't want to conveniently forget it in 2 weeks, and keep doing all the wrong things.
Sure you can call and ask "for an explanation". I feel that way right now about someone..but I feel more empowered that I have not. It also tells them, their opinions or life isn't the be all end all for us today. Then they might contact you.... -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PRECISELY ---- ((((someone doesn't return your messages, and you try a second time, that's fine, because you never know if sometimes a message doesn't make it to a person or something goes wrong with their email or voicemail, but a third time is basically crossing the line into harassing a person))))

| This is my story. Posted: 5/28/2008 7:53:43 PM | | Hey, OP, I'm not easily entertained by profiles, but yours really cracked me up! Don't be discouraged by these young girls. I remember how stupid I was at that age, too. But like others are saying, if someone becomes distant and doesn't return calls, take it as lack of interest and don't pursue. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but some people do not feel they owe you any kind of explanation or "closure" because they went out with you once or twice. For some, it's very confrontational and uncomfortable to have to tell you they are not interested and why. I think it is a good call dating women a few years older than you. They may be more on your wavelength and have better communication skills. | |

~Kyn~: Wow...bloody long read OP...couldnt ya just have said I dated a coupla girls who had guys hanging around and both of them blew you off.
Kyn, you owe me a new keyboard because I just ruined mine when the coffee shot out of my mouth and nose from the laughter.
OP, they are either immature, uninterested or flakes (perhaps even a combination of all 3).
Block ‘em, forget ‘em and move on. They aren’t worth your time.

Thank you. I will return to this.

This is a bunch of BS, and is exactly what is wrong with people, and the world today. The small things just pile up to equal the despair that is felt by everyone, each day. Nobody cares for anyone other than themselves anymore. I refuse to "get used to it." This is how it is, yes, but I will fight it to my dying day because that is what I believe in.
