Me too...me too!
Heck, I clicked wrong on the month (Mine is actually Oct.) and noticed it a couple of weeks later...only because it had my horoscope sign wrong.. I'm a Scorpio. Felt bad, for awhile, that even that was wrong. Tried to put in the correct month and it said I couldn't. Which is fine. Now I realize why those people I recognized, dropped off and came back with new profiles. Same pics though. Go figure.

| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 6/1/2008 8:28:28 AM | abby156, the little whippersnapper probably had the hots for ya, but was unable to verbalize that....
And I agree with Mae...guppies make GOOD BAIT!

| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 6/1/2008 8:43:04 AM | Id' be more inclinded to ask why somebody so touchy about a perfectly honest question would be fishing. You will be asked many questions you don't like. Comes with the territory. Get over it. | |

| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 6/1/2008 9:16:05 AM | ....Age has nothing to do with why your casting your line, obviously your looking for the same things as most of us here..people are just rude and are lacking in social skills. It seems others just need to add bran to their diet.

| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 6/1/2008 11:05:45 AM | As *maeflowers* stated, has nothing to do with age.
Love/contentment/companionship knows no age.
All of us are here, in the dating scene, whether our relationships ended by choice or by uncontrollable circumstance. Most here are looking for some type of commited relationship. Others are searching for something else.
All types of personalities swim about in this "pond"..........don't let it bother you too much.

You can definately say that again! Such as the fellow who was not so nice to the OP!

| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 6/2/2008 1:48:40 PM | Remember this.. while the younger leaner fish are most edible and desired..an older larger fish is so much more fun to catch..even if you do throw us back into the pond to swim another day...it's all about the fight the fish has left more than the finality ending with the lift into the boat.
We can swim in many ponds before the perfect lure is tossed in our direction...

| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 6/4/2008 9:19:50 AM | ^^^Seems that I heard that bout you darlin!
No one needs to justify why they are here or on any other site for that matter. We are because we are! Plain and simple right? Once you begin corresponding with someone, should you care to share they why's, then that is up to the individual? Correct?

We are because we are!
Very existential! You mean there are people here not only because they are bored, lonely and would like to have a friend to sit at the other end of the table when the family comes over for Xmas dinner next December?
(The last part is entirely euphemistic, you understand...)
|
| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 6/5/2008 8:23:04 AM | You did the right thing. He was too rude to answer. Personally, I'll never be too old to be in this pond as long as I feel like fishing.

| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 6/5/2008 8:44:02 AM | Interesting thread with some choice postings
Perhaps the youngster who emailed OP was using his version of the old line: "What's a nice girl like you doing in a place like this?" ... on the other hand he could just be upset that his 50-something momma is scoring more dates than he can ....

or try a 21 year old's thoughts on aging ...
silence rings loud as a sign of desperation, Alone with emotions that leave a enigma, Too young to overpower too old to acknowledge defeat, The rope of frustration tightens.
Future vagueness as grand as the starts, Haunting pasts strike terror throughout my heart, Experience teaches like a succeeding father, Enormous decisions linger,
Manhood stares me in the face with determination, A child holds on with stoutness and humor, Civil war reeks havoc through out my being, My twenty first year is here.

| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 6/5/2008 10:45:34 AM | | I have a feeling your young friend was just out to stir up a reaction. I wouldn't worry to much about him as he's probably making rude comments to someone else now. | |
|
| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 6/5/2008 7:19:24 PM | I get emails and IM's from 20 somethings in here too. Most are looking for "an experienced older woman". Well, I don't have much patience for training puppies anymore, but I try to take it as a compliment and not be rude when I try to convey that I'm not interested.
We're not getting older hon.....we're getting better. And yes, there are men our own age out there who can appreciate it, and who are man enough to handle it.

| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 6/6/2008 5:00:41 AM | I think we should all just enjoy being able to express ourselves in this forum without the need for age, race, size constrictions. Preference in a dating partner is the not the issue, just if you feel too old to be here.. I know 80 yr olds who still date.. dusty | |

but I'm still trying to figure out why she took this question as being "rude" rather than just a straightforward request for mundane information from someone who was curious... Funny, life of leisure, I'm trying to figure out why you feel the need to not only judge the OP's response but the sender's intent?

| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 6/6/2008 2:55:38 PM | | Goodness. I'm way older than you, and I still want to date. Perhaps he was honestly wondering, and just didn't realize how rude the question was. He was very young. | |
