| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 6/27/2008 9:38:15 AM | ^^^^^^^^Chocoatebrowne, you go girl!!! Now that's the attitude we all need to take. Hell, we're all like salmon trying to swim upstream against a strong current to mate. It's a battle, it's hard work, we're going to run into some stinkers, some bad guys and/or wild animals will try to "catch" us, and we may get bruised and hurt on the way....but when we get there and find what we're searching for .....Ooooooooohhhhhhhhh Baby!!!!
There's no such thing as "too" anything to be in this pond....except CRAZY, and those fools don't have a clue that they are!
Happy to fishing to all! Rose Mary

| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 6/29/2008 5:57:24 AM | So true OOTD.. so true!
Too old?
I was asked some strange questions (all sex related) by the youngens before I put up the age limit.. but.. that I was too old? Never!
I think I would've had to answer him back before blocking his lil butt!
However.. POF does clearly state.. anyone considered too rude.. can and will have their profile deleted.
Maybe that would have been a better course.. and saved some other lady of our wisened ages to not be called upon in such a malicious manner.

He went on to ask why a person my age would actually be fishing. I was really at a loss for how to respond to such a rude question so I just blocked him from further messages.
Well we'll never really know if he was shocked to see older people fishing and afraid his mommy might learn about fishing too; or whether he was coming on to you, a la Mrs. Robinson.

| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 6/29/2008 1:38:52 PM | | I had someone im me and ask how to talk to a person in their 40's. I hope my advice worked! | |

| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 6/29/2008 1:55:55 PM | The only folks who may be "to old to be in this pond" are the ones who are floating in it Face Down.
This kind of crap never bothers me. I know how quickly the last 50 years have sped by. I can only assume the next 50 will go just as quickly for those stupid enough to waste their time asking this kind of question. When it does, if they listen very carefully, they might hear some chuckling coming from over in the church yard, yes ?

| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 6/29/2008 3:59:43 PM | My birthday was yesterday. I'm now 61 and not in a relationship. How else are people supposed to meet other people these days? I wish there was an over 55 section! Have any of you other Iowans had success in dating or are we "too old to be in this pond"? My girls think I'm pretty cool even at this age. | |

Bite your tongue!! Today I was kissed on the hand by one fella about 45 and then kissed once on each cheek by another 50 + Greek God! I have to concur with the above poster: I truly would not trade 20 for 47..........either. I wouldn't even consider trading my present age. ( at least not today!!!) Never TOO OLD to fish........

"Thanks for the offer but no thanks. Younger guys break too easily."
Cindy, that is flippin hilarious girl, but oh so true.........Those fragile young pups would have to eat a mountain of wheaties to keep up with us more mature gals..........
I had to raise the minimum age on my profile because I was so tired of having my inbox bombarded with offers from guys young enough to be my son, flattering for some women, but not a pleasant thought for me, eewwww.......

Yes RG, it's called hanging out at airports! Of course, you knew that, you devil.
What I think is interesting is that when we join POF and ultimately fill in the details on our profile, a FISH can only have a maximum age of 99. Does this mean we can't fish after we've reached this age?

| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 6/29/2008 10:13:45 PM | | To old to be in the pond my goodness. That person is so misinformed. I am 60 and have been seeing a 25 year old for 5 months. Trust me alot of young things want older women. Most of us have not drama, make up our own minds, have our own money, do not want children and do not need to worry about being pregnant. I do not make demands and want to be his mother. We have lots in common, laugh and have a lot of fun. You gotta find the right one. I have been contacted by a few in their 20s. They like older women for the fun and knowledge and experience. Fish all you want!!! | |

| Too old to be in this pond? Posted: 7/10/2008 11:34:00 AM | Gosh, I hadn't thought I was too old to be here ~ then last month I turned 60! My e-mail box is just collecting dust now,, nothing changed, except, the age written on my profile. Seems maybe other people think I'm too old, even if I don't. But, I'm still here tb | |
