He asked What do you weigh? What would you say?Page 2 of 6    (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
I had furnished him with a photograph, head shot to just above the bust line. I just didn't want to post a photo on-line but will always respond with one. He said that I had "seen all of him" -- he was sitting in a chair which showed him to about waist level, only showing some of his torso.

Any one have any ideas on a personal question to ask as a retort.?

If you really wanna shake the next one to ask that up ,ask him his lenght and girth.
Geeze My dad raised me to be a gentleman, and common since helps too. There are some questions you just don't ask.But pictures on the profile do help,I'm only 6' and 190 lbs,so I guess kokomo wont go out with me .I'm kinda happy with just the XL anyway it fits me.

Ladies, just so you know badmane and I have been friends online for a while now. He is such a sweet guy. The reason he sees no problem in saying your weight is he is one gentleman who would truely ( in my opinion) judge you in any way shape or form by the numbers.

As to the question the OP got... gee it doesn't surprise me at all.

I think my answer would be to send him a full length photo and leave it at that. Just because we are on the internet and the rules for dating are in constant flux.. does NOT give people the right to forget good manners. I would think it was rude for another woman to ask me too for that matter.

The guy should be reasonable, but we all know some people use photos older than 3 or 4 yrs old and some use photos that show them in a distance making it hard to determine what the individual looks like.

I think all of us are speculating and assuming he was entirely wrong for asking.
I'm not pointing at OP, she might be entirely right but it's a known fact not everyone is truthful on here ,and it's also a known fact some give off setting information in their profiles then once you meet the person there's no resemblance between the person and the photo.

I wouldn't ask a lady her weight, but I guarantee there are women that ask men really personal information. I think the question should be ask ,what should women ask men that doesn't cross the line and what should men ask that doesn't cross the line?

What offends some doesn't offend others. I believe people expect others to be perfect and know before they ask a question what will offend and what won't offend. All of us know we're not perfect so we ask questions that offend some and others are okay with it. Not knowing the person it's difficult to know what to ask and what not to ask.

Stated again, this is a dating site and people do ask questions. We do have the right to ask questions. If a person doesn't want to answer the question then don't,just forget it and move on.

With all this happening none of us will know what to ask and what not to ask....

I keep reading about women who post old photos or photos from a distance!
There are some men who are guilty of the same thing!
I have met at least four men on this very site who have lied about their age and posted old photos.
I try to keep my photos current and try to make sure there is a full length photo of me posted and yet I will still meet men who say that I look nothing like my photos at all!!! go figure!

First, I agree that to come out and ask a lady her weight is just rude...BUT... I understand.

When I was actively searching, I went out on MANY dates where the lady that showed up was SIGNIFICANTLY heavier than their pictures and what I had been led to believe in conversations. For me, that's an instant deal-breaker as far as a potential relationship goes. Like the vast majority of men (and women), I am just not physically attracted to women who are overweight. They may be the nicest person in the world but it would never work out between us on a romantic level. Nothing against them, it's just not my cup of tea.

It got so bad that it was to the point where I would get really upset because of the wasted time I spent getting to know someone under false pretenses. I would find a reason to leave the date within the first 20 minutes. I'm sure this happens to women too.

So, I understand why he wanted to ask her weight but it's still not something you should do outright. At least find a tactful way to find out without being offensive.

One of the men I was talking with from another site once told me that he "fell in love" with a woman via emails and the telephone and never even saw a picture of her. They had talked for hours each night for several weeks and he felt he knew everything about her. He even paid for her to fly to San Diego to spend a weekend with him. When he met her at the airport, she was (as he put it) "a hippo."
What did he do? He excused himself to go to the restroom and left her there. YES, HE LEFT HER IN THE AIRPORT!!!
Okay, SHE would have benefited from him asking for a picture or asking her if she was overweight.
It angers me that he claims that he fell in love with her words, but once he saw the body, he fell out of love quickly!

Okay, this thread is getting very quickly to “absurd”. Folks, how many people in your whole life have you known who truly – 100% – don’t make judgment on another person based on looks? No matter how superficial one may consider this, it just seems to be a fact of life. So, here’s my question: if that person cares so much about your size, why should you care about them? Please pardon my bluntness, but is anyone that insecure or desperate that they need such people or their opinions?!? Take rustyredd’s advice: NEXT!

I agree "How..." . Like I mentioned before I don't mind answering questions posed to me by men, as long as that don't start going towards a sexual nature (which has happened) and I've been asked them all....I'm just as guilty about wanting to know what my potential date looks like, so have the same superfical tendencies as the next guy/gal....Just remember, you don't know this person, and if something offends, regardless of what it is, before you've even met the person, more than likely this person just isn't the right on for you. Being upfront with "that question really offended me" or being upfront anytime questions and answers are given will give you a "hint" as to how real life conversation will go with that person when you get their response.

As a large woman who has tipped the scales at 328 and happily not there anymore, I love telling people my weight, but I will only do it in person.I look about 50 lbs less than what I am. I will tell a guy my pant size to which he usually says "Huh?" so I have full body pics I send. My comment is always, after having four babies... "My body has a history and it shows! Love it or leave it!" if the conversation continues to dwell on size then it is time to move on.
For me personally I am as honest and up front as I can be, I have one pic with no make up on. I would rather be rejected by someone from behind their computer screen than to be rejected in person because I "tricked" them into thinking I am something I am not. In this game of internet dating when it comes to looks, honesty is the best policy.
And by the way I almost always ask guys that don't have full body pics what their waist size is. Some laugh and others say "ummmm wellll...."

I like the idea about asking the waist size. I don't mind telling someone my pant size or jacket size, I've just never wanted to share my weight with anyone but my doctor and would omit him if I could. You are correct that someone usually replies "Huh?" to the pants size. Thanks for the response.

-- Thank God, here's a woman who is able to Cut the Crap and say it like it is! I agree with you %200 -- there are many on here who are Real Loose when it comes to selecting a Body Type category for themself. I've seen many profiles where people have put Athletic -- Folks, the Body Type "Atheletic" isn't supposed to denote that you like (or play) sports! I mean, SUMO Wrestling is a sport, but I wouldn't consider that an "Athletic" Body Type. Likewise Paula, I see you as being more in the "Average" or "A Few Extra Pounds", and I have to say, you've got a Gorgeous Smile (and I love the dimples!)

Have a GREAT weekend!

Thanks for the compliments!! Cutting crap is my specialty, just ask my kids!! I would love to say I am average!!! Never been in my life, I am a big woman that carries her weight well, been told all my life " you have such a pretty face have, if only you could lose weight you'd have men knocking down your door" I finally got to the "love me or don't" stage! I am who I am, I am never going to please everyone.

Well, I have had my share of linebackers that say they have an athletic body! Before I had kids, a little less gut, I played sports 24/7, I still was a large woman but a little more toned, I told people.."This is an athletic body" now I am an ex athletic body..LOL
Torn rotator cuff, bad knee, surgical scars on knees and ankle, that is an athletic body for ya!!!

Whats wrong with asking how much you wiegh? If you meet someone they will see if you are fat or thin anyway. You cant hide that. So why not tell them if they ask? And if you dont like how much you wiegh then lose some wieght. You can do it. I wiegh 125 pounds. See how easy it is to admit your wieght? Come on ladies, step up and be honest. If you want a real relationship you have to.

Oh that's just precious....coming from a man who won't post his picture.
