| Pittsburgh POF Event - July 6 ~ 6 p.m - 10:30 p.m. - Sandcastle Water Park, Homestead, PA Posted: 7/6/2008 9:21:45 AM | hmmm, oldies music? did you know that the good ol' rock and roll was the beginning era for the music that you listen to today just as country music and southern rock bringing the rock music up north for you to listen to? my older son is going on 21 and respects the music that i listen to and there are a lot of other younger folk that are the same. also, the jitterbug is a fun dance, you should try it some time. i was 14 when i learned how to do that and was taught by my aunt. when i went to a dance when i was 17 they played some music where people danced the jitterbug and my friends were amazed with the fact that i knew a dance that they didn't know.....boy did that make me the popular one. you also have to keep in mind that on saturday nites people tend to use that nite for their dating or weekends with the kids, or maybe attending a lot of other events. sunday is a great day, it's a day to spend with friends both old and new.
i also hope that everyone has a great time!
sally, you did great with your event girlfriend...have a great day! cg

You thought of everything-- the balloon fish decorations, swedish fish, goldfish crackers, nametags with a fish-add to that your terrific personality as a host and a group of nearly 200. You have set the tone for all future Pittsburgh events. We can definitely be proud to say Pittsburgh Rocks!! | Congrats on an AMAZING 1st POF Pittsburgh Event!! Posted: 7/7/2008 3:22:35 AM | Hi All ,
I want to THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all who attended the party last night. It was so much fun meeting you and each and every one of you made the evening the success that it was.
I also want to give a huge and special THANK YOU to my Welcome Team, Just99Cents, Rookietogo, YaYA with John, Pat and to YA YA's sister who made the fabulous fish balloons. YA YA was the creative force behind the fishy name tags. I would never have been able to pull this off without you.
Now let's get crackin' for PGH POF PARTY II.

| Congrats on an AMAZING 1st POF Pittsburgh Event!! Posted: 7/7/2008 5:59:15 AM | OOPS! The downfall of trying to thank people by naming names is that you invaribly forget to mention someone . . . . A BIG THANK YOU TO ANDREW!!!
I'd love to schedule another event before the summer's over. Please feel free to send suggestions.

| Congrats on an AMAZING 1st POF Pittsburgh Event!! Posted: 7/7/2008 6:51:46 AM | | I'm glad the Pittsburgh event was a success. I apologize for being a no-show. I was at a car show and planned to cruise on down but the car vetoed that with an oil leak. Dang. I was looking forward to meeting some city people. I've just *got* to get out of this little country family place. lol. NOT my scene in a really big way, hehe. | |

| Congrats on an AMAZING 1st POF Pittsburgh Event!! Posted: 7/7/2008 1:11:21 PM | Sally,
I thought it was cool that you won something from the drawing...way to go! I really appreciate all the hard work that went into organizing this event, I had a great time. I was amazed that even despite the weather concerns, people turned out in droves.
I don't have a single recommendation, I was impressed at how smoothly everything was handled.
Thanks again for planning this event.

| Congrats on an AMAZING 1st POF Pittsburgh Event!! Posted: 7/8/2008 8:47:24 AM | Hi Everybody!!
Stay tuned for the pictures. They'll be posted in the next couple of days.
Also . . . stay tuned for PGH POF II . . . the event will be on a Friday or Saturday night and maybe on the water!
Another thought I have is to get a picnic grove and have kegs and kickball fest. What are your thoughts on this?

| Congrats on an AMAZING 1st POF Pittsburgh Event!! Posted: 7/8/2008 9:19:28 AM | Sally, that sounds like a great idea if you can find the place. Some of us from the "Hermitage" parties have been looking for the same thing. Can't seem to find anywhere that will allow the beer. But if you do, plan on a large crowd! I wanted to go to this one but just couldn't. I hope to make anymore that you have. Sounds like it was a great time! | |

| Congrats on an AMAZING 1st POF Pittsburgh Event!! Posted: 7/8/2008 9:35:12 AM | We could rent a picnic grove either from the City of Pittsburgh or Allegheny County the only problem is you have to put up money for the grove and a permit to have alcohol. I think I'll research the availability and locations of groves this week.
I think it would be fun to do a joint PGH - HERMITAGE POF Party. There were a couple of guys at the Sandcastle party from Hermitage and we talked about co-hosting an event on the Gateway Clipper. My buddy, Jimmy has their contact info - I have to get it from him. The Kickball idea just came to me today. The more I think about it the more I'm loving it!!! It's always good to "think outside of the box!!!"
The beauty of kickball is that it's an inclusive game meaning that you don't have to be an "athlete" to play. I figure we'd assemble a group of teams (depending on the number of attendees) and have a kickoff throughout the day and then the big "tourny" with a prize basket (donations from local businesses etc.) Our we could do a Hermatige area v. Pittsburgh area contest.
Let me know!

| Congrats on an AMAZING 1st POF Pittsburgh Event!! Posted: 7/8/2008 9:47:14 AM | Hi Sally, Had a great time, just one problem though, I don't know how anyone else felt, but the music was just a little to loud. Made it to hard to talk to people sitting at the tables. You had to shout everything. But otherwise it was a great get together!! Looking forward to the next one. Thanks again, you all did a great job!!!
