Why put the lid down on a loo?

Why would there even be a lid if it wasn't intended to be used? Do you not close the cupboard doors in your kitchen? How about the lid to the garbage bin? It looks better with the lid down and on a practical note it stops stuff falling down the pan when you drop it. Reason enough.

On another point, i always even with my own toilet use a piece of toilet paper to lift the lid, does anyone else do this, and if i ever which is rare use a public toilet i lay toilet paper on the seat before sitting on it.

It's funny you say that rune3, because my roommate who doesn't put the lid of the toilet down, also rarely closes the kitchen cupboards. I find myself often going into the kitchen and closing all the ones he used earlier.
I use it as a game to figure out what he had made himself. I'm getting pretty Sherlock Holmes about it.

It's not so much the placement of the lid I care about. I care far more about the turkeys who piddle all over a toilet seat in a public restroom, leaving it for someone else to deal with I think women who "hover" over a seat should put it up, and put it back down after they are finished I would love to see every woman's bathroom in the world have as standard equipment a sign that says, "If you pee on the seat, please be neat, and wipe it up!" It is disgusting to see other women acting like barnyard animals with no regard for the women who have to use the bathroom afterwards.

There. Just had to vent!!
