Unfortunately, there is a definite school of thought among men that it's better to praise poor head and continue to get it, than offend the giver and not get any. Maybe that is why some men don't get satisfaction with head, the woman does not feel connected to the act. Some women feel its a salacious act vs erotic and can't enjoy it, well unless they like salacious acts, then they really enjoy it. But how often do people do something well they don't enjoy it?
There is something very intimate about being responsible for another person's orgasm. When it is reduced to a physical act alone, intimacy is lost and it becomes mechanical instead of a fluid (no pun intended) mutual act of giving.
