i have a few questions because i've never been on a golf course before and i've heard that some of them have very strict rules about dress codes and shoes and stuff like that. so is someone allowed on the course if they are not playing?....like as a caddie person?.....and would i still have to pay the fees? also...would they have lessons available and one could pay for an hour or so?
if anyone is able to answer my questions i would greatly appreciate it

i know some of the posh country clubs have some kind of dress code. i'm sure i wouldn't be welcome if i were wearing a mini skirt and a halter top.....especially if i were bending over to pick up any balls

Posted: 7/5/2008 8:05:40 AM | I find dress codes here are pretty forgiving. Standard codes are no jeans or cut offs, collared shirts or mocknecks. Some courses say you must wear soft spiked shoes, but most courses will allow you on with running shoes.
In short, I sure that Sylllie will provide answers before the event.
Turns out I'm going to be down in the area that weekend . . . room for one more?

Posted: 7/6/2008 10:11:15 AM | | well being an avid golfer ,,,the course might have a dress code as for edicate on the course ,its simple don't drink too much ,,,try not to slow players behind you ,,and enjoy nature...most courses have the rules on the score cards about where you can and can't go in a cart or walking ,,and as for the rules of golf well that can be relaxed after all were there for a good time ,,not playing on a PGA event,,,lmao | |

Still haven't found anyone willing to let me borrow their clubs -- probably because they will be using them  -- do we really need a whole set or can we use a putter & one or two others that will do the trick? ... looking forward to having some fun ... doesn't matter as to tee time though the earlier the better & would like to be on a team that at least has one person who knows what they're doing 'cause I don't  ... will need all the help I can get ... That said - I've golfed with my dad before and borrowed the odd club/driver outta his bag when I wanted to try it out. Now I got my own - guess he got tired of me borrowing his "special" driver and putting it back in MY golf bag :) He bought me the duplicate for Christmas
Some clubs have a set you can rent.....also ...running shoes (with this course) is ok - I don't own cleated shoes and have golfed in many places around here.
As for a wager - well, see you're at a slight advantage now that you've seen me post my average ...lol.

We begin at 11:00 AM, and last tee off is 2:00 PM. We need a few more women out!!! Come on girls, where are you??????? Right now we are looking at 9 teams, we will mix them up the best that we can. I will post the tee times when they are ready. PLEASE, if you have signed up, and can't make it, let me know, so we can adjust the teams accordingly.

Dress code is shirt with sleeves, and shorts no more than 4 inches above the knee. Other than that, you are good to go!!!
I have emailed most people regarding tee time preferences, but due to some people's restrictions, I was not able to contact everyone.
Our tee time window has now changed to 11:00 am to 12:20 pm, due to small amount coming out. I hope this works for everyone. There is still room between tee off times, if you would still like to join us.
I will be emailing those that I can contact with your tee time later tonight. I will also post them in the thread.
PLEASE, IF YOU HAVE SIGNED UP AND WILL NOT BE COMING OUT, PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP SO I CAN TAKE YOU OFF THE LIST.
