Now then, on to your assertion that Tommy Chong is dead. Find me the obituary. And why can't you? He's not dead. Less than month ago he made a statement speculating why his yet to be released documentary DVD's were seized in a raid.
If you're going to make shit up, make sure it isn't something anybody can check. You know, like that you've ever had a date that lasted more then 10 minutes before she ran out screaming, fearing for her sanity.

Research has already been done. I mentioned some of it. They don't agree on specific numbers, but it's a hell of a lot more than an ounce. Yes, for most people, just that ounce would make them sick if they smoked continuously. They'd probably pass out before getting through it, but they sure as hell wouldn't die.
Tell you what. I'll sit down and take a toke every 30 seconds for an hour while you sit across and down a shot of your favourite 80 proof at the same time. We'll see who dies.

And I still will video tape the pot smoker so we can see if it OD's you or not! But there will be no one calling 911 if you do!

It is easy to see how upwards of 5000 people die from alcohol overdoses every year and no one EVER dies of marijuana overdoses.

And I really don't know how good 180 proof whisky would be. If only 10 percent is something other than alcohol, it wouldn't have much flavour. Sounds like rot-gut to me.

And Mr Vain H what ever you are I was not saying I was gonna take a shot for every puff you take ! I'll drink the entire bottle in one go ! start to finish so about 45 to 60 seconds I'll have consumed the bottle of 180 proof while your still gonna be rolling and lighting up your joints.
ANd just incase you like to search for studies on things check ordinary coffee and see if you can OD on that too!
Well I won't be commenting any more in this forun as the pot studs won't take this challenge any ways so just a waste of time . So say what you like as I know not anyone will take the challenge !

First things first, I'm sure all the crap you're saying is mainly for attention and to try and get a rise out of people. I've noticed that you write on the discussion boards for topics that are controversial. Love it.. you sit behind a computer screen, trying to piss off people because you consider this the highlight of your entertainment.
Now. About overdosing on pot: not possible. I've studied addictions for a program I've just recently graduated from. There is nothing addictive in pot, nor can you overdose from it. Mentally, one can become addicted to THE FEELING of being high, but chemically, physically, you can't be addicted to pot. There is also nothing to overdose on. The amount of chemicals present in pot is not enough to overdose on! Like the others, I would like to see a REAL CASE (not the made up one you presented) to prove this. Also, if ODing on pot were possible, there would be a lot more people dead from this!! You'd be able to show us more cases than the one that's been shot down a million times now. Again, for 4 solid months I was studying addictions. Alcohol, by far, is more dangerous than pot and some other drugs as well. I'd suggest you researching your arguments before presenting them.
As for the initial question: I think there are definately people who say that they do drugs and it might just be pot, and there may be addicts to cocaine and they might choose to say no. Some might only say yes if they feel it is a habit, while others might choose to say no because they use them ocassionally, which might be too much for you or I. I think one of the main reasons a drug user might not say "yes" is because they fear being judged, just like some people choose not to add a photo to their profile. Most of us would want someone to get to know out personality before looks, or in this case, an activity of choice, gets in the way... But I do understand why we want this information beforehand.. why waste time when (again, in this case) you might not want to talk to someone who dabbles with drugs in any way! Ahh, so many sides to look at this topic from!!
Moral (lol): You have to be careful about who you're talking to and find out more info about things like that! You research and question features and such for our cell phones, iPods and other things before we buy them... we should be putting as much (if not more) effort into our relationships: friendships and otherwise!!

1) It is possible to OD on Marijuana yet impossible. You need to do POUNDS of the stuff to get to the OD point.
2) Marijuana has the effect of 10 cigarettes if compared to cancer (1 joint=10 cigarettes). This is not because of what is in the joint but rather how people smoke it (suck in the smoke and hold it in your lungs to get a "high").
3) The best way to get cancer is smoking cigarettes and drinking at the same time. A better way then that is to smoke a joint and drink at the same time.
In the end it is up to people and what they want in life. Sure you can have a ton of fun and die happy at 50 but other's like to live longer.
P.S. Not trying to start a flame war so don't message back saying marijuana doesn't cause cancer with no credentials and that you know a magical 150 year old who smokes weed every day and that's why he's been living for so long. | |

Posted: 6/9/2008 12:43:42 PM | I get such a kick out of someone who smokes "often" and drinks alcohol, yet acts so holier-than-thou about marijuana. Your cigarette smoking is much more dangerous to your health (and the health of those around you) than an occasional joint.
Marijuana has health benefits for some - I know one woman who got through chemo by smoking pot, which helped keep down nausea and allowed her to eat without throwing up. I have a friend with MS who smokes it to alleviate nausea and help with pain.
I find there is way too much judgementalism around regarding pot. Personally, I'd rather be around someone who's high from pot than someone drunk on alcohol. How many pot smokers get violent when stoned? Very few. How many people get violent on alcohol? Lots. Like my brother used to say - if people smoked pot instead of drinking alcohol, there'd be far less violence in the world.
Having said that, it's up to the individual as to whether to date a pot smoker or not, just like it's up to the individual whether to date a cigarette smoker or an alcohol drinker or not. | |

Also, it is something that I enjoy, but it is not who I am, so I should not be judged by this, as I can smoke or not smoke. i would tell someone if I likes them, and if I was comfortable with them, and if I felt they wouldn't judge me by it. it is NOT like smoking cigarettes, in no way comparable, cause a cigarrete smokers NEEDS to smoke after a certain amount of time. spend 5 hours with someone and they will confess they smoke cigarrettes. someone that smokes weed, even daily, still doesnt have that kind of dependancy, and get by easily on any day functions. I have a high level position, and you wouldn't beleive the amounts I can smoke, and there are many many people in very high management positions that are potheads, or even worse...
anyway, thats my 2 cents, and I have some cents to a few other comments I've seen on this thread:
1) no way you can OD on weed. I will happily take up that challenge.... you pay the weed, I'll smoke it till your convinced I cant OD, or until you run out of money

1. Either its impossible or possible. In logical terms this means you cant word impossible in the same sentence as possible as they negate each other. Either you can, or cant. Based on the statement the final fact is "its impossible.".
2. This is a standard one people use constantly and im tired of hearing it, here is an exerpt from the wiki:
The answer is slightly complicated. Technically, there is more tar in a joint than a cigarette. However, many of the nasty chemicals inside a cigarette, like nicotine and formeldihide, aren't in marijuana. Also, marijuana is smoked less frequently than cigarettes. An average pot consumer may smoke 3-4 joints a week, but a cigarette smoker smokes on average 8-10 cigarettes every day. Also, tar can be lessened if marijuana is smoked though a bong, which filters the smoke through water.
Id rather go for the natural stuff then manufactured cigarrettes that include known poisons. The poison in marijuana can be lessened in how you use the drug and plus Marijuana isnt manufactured to kill you, it actually has medicinal purposes unlike cigarrettes. Of course its only good in moderation, any type of abuse of a substances can cause damage to your body even kill you...try drinking coca-cola everyday for the rest of your life and have 10 cans a day...watch your body decline...

I know plenty of marijuana addicts who can hold jobs and take care of their family, and are health nuts (yes thats right, health nuts) and they have no adverse affects from its use except the addiction. I dont see too many alcoholics doing the same, they are neglectful, and spend way more money on booze then anything else and you can hardly speak to these people a few hours into drinking, whereas marijuana never clouds your mind so much you cant speak.
Take the time to educate yourself before you go and spew out some baseless statements that are based on nothing but your imagination. | |

The only thing I suggest to you is that you follow your own advice at the very end of your post. Educate yourself before reading off other people's imaginations on websites. Go to a University and actually study cancer, smoking, drinking and marijuana and then by all means after that come back and argue on here. | |
