hi,

my thoughts are:

if this is your life and this is how you want to live then who cares what women or even men think. however, if you're questioning b/c you're trying to attract a lady and you're wondering if women dislike less fianancially stable men ....well i think one would have to consider the type of lifestyle they want with this person.....so it's up to you and the type of life you want to create for yourself, family and your lady.....

for myself, i presonally don't like to stay in one set mode in life yr after yr...it's nice to reflect, take inventory and then assess new ideas & perhaps make changes or improvements or set new goals.....i would like this in someone i'm with also....

can i ask you...why are you having trouble with your job? for a man, it's usually a sign of soemthing going on inside them? aer you feeling like "who cares, i don't want to report ot anyone, i'll come & go when i please" these days?

No, I wasn't really questioning it to begin with, more just thoughts on the generalization that a woman may want a man who works hard, and what that might entail. Also the importance of money, over having a satisfying life without an abundance of it.

As for my job, I'm having a bit of that moment right now (it's not really trouble, as it's more of a non-issue, except with people I tell about it). This moment should be resolved within the next week or so

Like I stated..........this thread wasn't supposed to be about my personal work habits.....I was simply using them as a reference as to my ideals. In general my feelings towards work and money will never change, family will always come before work, and as long as I have a roof over head and food on the table, that's all that really matters, no matter what my age.

I do have a plan for the future, I also have my reasons for my work habits. But since they are not supposed to be the topic of this thread, I do not feel right (nor the need of) disclosing them here.

That's a very rude generalization. I don't think that the OP said enough about his "attitude toward work" for you to make the assumption that he is unmotivated.

I also, falling into his age range, find it very offensive that i'd be lumped into that category, when you make that generalization. I know more people my age who bust their ass, than people who don't. Infact, most of the young people I know work much harder than those I know in the previous generation.

WOW! I really can't believe the harshness I've brought on myself by some. But like I've stated, if people would like to actually know specifics beyond what I have given, message me. Discussing my (or general) work ethics or lack thereof was not the point of the thread. That is why I posted specific questions, none of which included, "Could you please critique me on my work ethics?"

Money isn't important to me at all. I work enough to pay the bills. I won't spend time working that I could be spending with my family.

I would want someone to be willing to work hard towards their goals in life.

1)One person's goal is to get by with just paying their bills.
2)Another might be more geared to the future. Work my behind off now and retire in comfort later.
3)Others may work nearly 24/7 with no break or vacation . Work is their life.

I would look for someone with goal similiar to my own.
I would choose number (2)
I think there needs to be a balance.
I dont wish to get by with paying my bills ,nor would I want to work 50 to 60 plus hours a week and never see my children. To never take time off to spend time with my family.

My Grandfather rarely would take time off work. I dont remember him ever taking a vacation or getting into a hobby. He was prison guard. He broke his arm and still went to work. At the end we auctioned off his home and the money he saved went to a nursing home.
