| Obama Posted: 6/27/2008 4:48:01 PM | | How do you know it will take 10 years? I think we could probably move a little faster that that if motivated.Besides if speculators are really a major part of the problem wouldn't the potential increase in supply effect the price? | |
|
| Obama Posted: 6/27/2008 5:03:26 PM | New Poll out.... reported on all News Stations - even the Left biased ones (guess they don't want to be caught looking stupid)... Obama is losing ground... major ground to McCain on the Catholic Vote. A Commentator attributed this to Catholics representing a large block of Middle America.
Reason:
The difference b/w Obama and McCain on the Issues. Imagine that. Real Issues.
Rock star status as Obama is being portrayed having... works in Hollywood.
Just not with the rest of the USA.

How do you know it will take 10 years? This is not a definitive study, just something I heard on meet the press, but this transcript is pretty good.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25313596/page/3/
SEN. BIDEN: We already can do that. Let's get the facts. You're entitled to your own opinion, not your own facts. Forty million acres leased offshore, number one. Number two, the first well to be dug from the time they lease, if Lindsey gives them access to more area, it'll take 10 years from the time the lease is let to the time oil comes out of the bottom of the sea in the new leases
that's just one quote from it, but you should read the whole thing. Or tivo that Meet the Press episode. lol
This article was pretty good too:

| Obama Posted: 6/27/2008 5:14:39 PM | Chris Matthews just reported it on 'Hard Ball' on MSNBC. Guess you can go to the transcript of today's show. It should be there.
If Chris is admitting it... the supposedly Right leaning FOX has probably commented on it also. I just happened to have the channel on 'Hard Ball' right then. Meaning Today.
I try to watch some of all the channels just to get both sides.

| Obama Posted: 6/27/2008 9:07:15 PM | Obama hasn't lost his vote with this Catholic, or this woman. GO OBAMA!!
I think the Republicans will be in for a rude awakening. I hope that all those right win dingbats are thrown out of Congress and that the Democrats can have free rein to fix all the messes that Bush and its minions have left us.
|
| Obama Posted: 6/27/2008 9:23:56 PM | I won't call Democrats names. Doesn't make sense. They are Humans and have every right to their Political choices.
I, personally, believe that Obama with a Democrat majority will finish us off... morally and fiscally as a nation. We are in a mess and it will take the mindset of McCain and Moderates on both sides of the aisle to pull us out.
All the News Outlets are talking about how Obama is going to the Center... trying to get votes. McCain was already Center. He has deviated much less than Obama. This is not just my observations..but, rather the consensus...even of those who say they support Obama.
Bush and Congress... Democrats and Republicans have got us in this situation. It's time to take a good long look at what each Candidate has done. In previous elections I have voted for Clinton and Bush.
I am glad to have the opportunity to vote for McCain. A man who has served this Country in both the Military and the Congress in a good, honorable way. We must have his experience and perseverance in Office... especially now.
We do not need a very very Left Liberal who is trying to move to the Center to get the Votes as Obama is doing. That's the last thing we need right now.
We also need a Congress which will get things done in the right way for the Nation.

| Obama Posted: 6/28/2008 6:19:08 AM | Good on you for providing information people can look to so that you have some truth behind your claims. But read carefully, in that article they state the tobacco industry provided funds for Obama's Senate campaign. This doesn't have anything to do with his presidential campaign funds.
According to the non-partisan Center for Responsive Politics, Obama ranks No. 3 among current senators receiving contributions to their Senate campaign committees from individuals connected to Altria, the parent company of Philip Morris.
This graph shows how much money as of May that Obama has received from special interest groups. http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/summary.php?cid=N00009638&cycle=2008

| Obama Posted: 6/28/2008 9:00:03 AM | | Right its typical of Obama..he uses whatever he can to make political gains, then when he has maneuvered himself into a more stable position he changes his tune about the means that got him there.... | |
|
| Obama Posted: 6/28/2008 9:14:05 AM | | The obama learned that he could walk on both sides of issues saying anything and it wouldn't get reported. If anyone brings it up...demonize them and the left jumps to attention and follows. Lately he's even started doing it to the left with FISA and some other issues and they are starting to get p.o.'ed. Looks like he's starting to believe his own moonbat press...the guy is thinking maybe he is Jesus. That all American needs is a guy with a savior complex. | |
|
| Obama Posted: 6/28/2008 10:12:45 AM | We also don't need a temperamental warmonger who plans to start a war with Iran. THe real moonbats are the right wing Republicans who spread lies and dishonor good men, such as Sen. Kerry, who served in Vietnam with honor to get an AWOL coward elected. The Republicans disgust me beyond belief, and the kinds of remarks coming from the right such as the above post are sickening. Obama does not think he is Jesus. However, he does follow Christ's teachings by showing compassion for the poor and those in need, which is SORELY LACKING in the Republican Party. We need to vote out every single right wing nutcase out of Congress and elect a progressive to the White House.
Progressive=progress and moving forward. We are falling farther and farther behind as compared to other democracies in this world, thanks to the Republican self-centered mentality that has infected our country.
McCain USED to be toward the center, but has been shanghaied by the right wing rubbish that is poisoning our country. I used to admire McCain until he began to have a voting record supportive of most of Bushboy and its minions. No longer. He flip flops more than a freshly caught fish. I am disgusted that a once honorable man has fallen into the right wing extremist camp. God help the human race if McCain is elected--he is chomping at the bit to attack Iran. I am afraid that he will start World War III.
|
| Obama Posted: 6/28/2008 11:18:17 AM | | Its nice to see some honesty by the Left fear of War and hatred of Bush are the forces driving the Obama train..when people accept this emotional reality they will see Obama as he really is an opportunistic Politician with radical religious beliefs Socialistic tendencies and a desire for Globalism.... | |
|
| Obama Posted: 6/28/2008 11:45:40 AM | Padawan, really, what are you smoking? Have you listened to a real economist talk about McCain's agenda lately? This isnt about left-right bullshit, save the rooting for the baseball teams, this is about REALITY!
We DO NOT NEED a war hero, give him a nice pension and send him to the Old Soldier's HOme and by the way, BEING A WAR HERO DOES NOT GIVE A MAN ENTITLEMENT TO THE WHITE HOUSE, OK?
Is someone paying you to state this stuff? Your posts sound like someone scripted all of it, it sounds like an advertisement.
the "mindset" of McCain is to attack Iran and cause a great, big disaster for everyone just so he can get a little more mileage from his "war hero" routine........I am all stocked up on crazy, please dont try selling me more, mmm-kay?
|
| Obama Posted: 6/28/2008 12:53:28 PM | I'm watching a news report right now as I type. Iraqi airport is getting operational again. Showing the typical Iraqi citizen.. many wearing clothes like we do, sitting around, chatting, interacting with the soldiers casually. They're really afraid. Oh, and Canada is supplying a lot of the financial aid for planes there alongwith the American Boeing.
Al Qaeda is being fought there. How about that. Al Qaeda has been there all along. Who knew. We just weren't fighting them there while they continued to bomb us under Clinton. But, we haven't been hit since entering Iraq.
Obama and camp don't like seeing these images. News said they would have preferred that this report was not released. Wonder why.
Obama has totally flip flopped on the gun ban issue. Why? Oh... he needed the Middle America vote.
Why are some of you against a war hero being President? I've seen McCain demeaned here for being as such. The man did nothing different than many did in the Civil War.. WWI...WWII, etc. McCain did his duty and something he believed in. To halt the spread of Communism. But, our Public decided it was PC correct to disown the Viet Vets. Shame on us!!
All of the non military people and all of the Obamas can sit back and rest on your laurels in a FREE Country... spouting off about an old man who served his Country. Noone knows what we would be like here if we had not entered WWI or II or even Vietnam. All those men and women were doing/are doing is serving their Home Country ... the USA. And, it displeases me to see them demeaned for that.
Obama... your man.. has said he will invade Iran. He will not bring the troops home, but, will redistribute them.
It was Not Obama's military experience and plan implemented which cut the American Casualty in Iraq by 80% with last years 'surge' . McCain devised it and fought to get it implemented. Even the Libs don't deny that.
For me to see some of the things written here about McCain's POW experience makes me totally ashamed of those who say it...but, by gosh they have the right to say it. For sure. Because of people like McCain and ALL the Others who join the Military...Serve the USA.
And.. I do Not want Obamania in Office to raise my taxes. Period. I'm tired of his racist attitude, double standard and nonsense.
|
| Obama Posted: 6/28/2008 6:15:26 PM | Taxes. Gimme a break. Realistically we are going to have to raise taxes after Bushboy and its minions drove our country back into deficit spending. Nothing turns me off more than people who care more about taxes and whine about them instead of being realistic and realize that taxation is what pays for our roads, military, schools, etc.
Obama is not a racist. Nuff said.
McCain has flip flopped on more things than any politician I've ever seen in my life.
McCain may be a war hero, but Obama did serve his community in his own way by being a community organizer. Granted, it's not military service, but it is still a form of service. McCain's time has come and gone. I respect that he served, but I will not vote for a warmonger who is itching to attack Iran.
The right wing dingbats are going to do what they can to spread lies so that gullible people will believe all these untruths about Obama, such as the line about him planning to attack Iran. Buh-loney!!
And another right wing untruth: al-Qaeda didn't even show up in Iraq until after the war in Iraq began. The "surge" made matters worse, as well.
|
| Obama Posted: 6/28/2008 6:27:50 PM |
Realistically we are going to have to raise taxes after Bushboy and its minions drove our country back into deficit spending. Do you even know anything about Obama? Obama played a big part in committing us to the Global Poverty act which will cost double what the War has..I have a question for all of you Liberals that are for punishing the rich, do you never expect or want to have money of your own? do you want to be able to receive interest income or dividends or to be able to sell your house and not be taxed to death, and speaking of death do you not want to inherit anything ever without most of it going to taxes? Most road repair comes from State taxes...Obama may not be a racist but you will have a hard time convincing anyone that he is not Afro- centric.

Oh, dear, playing the patriotic card. Sure, Grant and Eisenhower and I am sure there are some other Generals elected president with NO POLITICAL EXPERIENCE WHATSOVER.........so what? Some people don't seem to get it that being a war hero DOES NOT EQUAL AN ENTITLEMENT TO THE WHITE HOUSE.
And by the way, my uncle Lawrence won a Silver Star and two Bronze Stars for bravery in action in WWII with the Fighting First Division........for saving lives and killing enemy, not getting his butt in German prison camp.
""""And.. I do Not want Obamania in Office to raise my taxes. Period. I'm tired of his racist attitude, double standard and nonsense"""""""
To me, repealling the Bush tax cuts lowers MY taxes, doesnt raise them.....period. And the racist attitude, double standard and nonsense? Take a good look in your mirror.

Yep, if I want to play the Patriotic card, that's my privvy. Just like Obama plays the 'Race' card. His privvy.
I didn't say that THE military service entitled McCain to the White House.. I said I was ashamed at how some here regard his military service.
Why did you automatically jump to conclusions? Never mind. I know the answer.
And by the way, my uncle Lawrence won a Silver Star and two Bronze Stars for bravery in action in WWII with the Fighting First Division........for saving lives and killing enemy, not getting his butt in German prison camp.
Good for him. But, that should not take away from all the POWs like you make it sound.
To me, repealling the Bush tax cuts lowers MY taxes, doesnt raise them.....period. And the racist attitude, double standard and nonsense? Take a good look in your mirror.
Why do you say for me to look in the mirror? Because I stated the truth that Obama is playing the race card and if someone else does, then he and his camp would jump all over it ... blow it wayyyy up?
My great grandfather was full blood American Indian...but, I don't accuse others by saying they might use that against me. Duh!
Obama will raise taxes on everyone. I hope he doesn't get the Presidency.
|
| Obama Posted: 6/28/2008 8:47:25 PM | Thank you Stefano. Excellent reply. Obama's plan would not affect my taxes, either, but even if it did because I was fortunate enough to be in a higher income bracket that is meaningless. Fiscal responsibility is a MUST, and the last eight years have been a perfect example of the consequences of fiscal recklessness. Tax breaks for the rich are fiscally irresponsible and do not make sense. IMO, people who cry about taxes should take a more mature approach to things and realize that it is unrealistic for rich people to pay low taxes and expect to have decent governmental services in return. You get what you pay for. Low taxes=deteriorating roads, spoiled food making it to your dinner plate, insufficiently trained police officers, failing schools, and pollution running rampant to name just a few items that suffer when insufficient revenue is provided to get those things done that need to be done. Tax and spend is more fiscally sound than the absurdities of the last eight years of borrowing and spending! Pay-go is the liberal Democratic approach to fiscal policy, and that makes far more sense than the current folly which is comparable to a man getting laid off and then running thousands of dollars up on credit card bills while unemployed. Doesn't make sense!!
I don't give a rat's behind about inheritance taxes. Quite frankly, even WARREN BUFFETT favors keeping it in place! Enough of the whining from the selfish rich who care about nothing but saving money on taaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaxes. I don't feel sorry for any rich person who whines about taxes. It comes across as pathetic and selfish.
I respect McCain's service, but I do not feel that he would make a good president. Other presidents did not serve in the military and did fine. Franklin Delano Roosevelt comes to mind for one example. John McCain is not fit mentally to be president, and his mental instability is one of my major concerns about him being our next president.
Obama didn't serve in the military but he did serve his community as an organizer. He could have worked for a fancy law firm and made big bucks. Instead, he worked among the struggling people of the inner city. The poor don't have enough of a voice with right wing Republicans who only care about helping the rich and ripping everone else. A man like Obama will finally give voice to the poor. Taking care of those in need is far more important to me than tax rates. People need to be less self centered and look around themselves. There's alot of suffering in this world, and I am willing to pay my fair share to alleviate even just a little of it.
DW--bleeding heart liberal and PROUD OF IT!!

| Obama Posted: 6/28/2008 9:37:33 PM |
Except for the fact that he is a good speaker and for ideological reasons - why would anyone vote for Obama for president? John McCain has so much more experience in world affairs, the military, the government, etc. Obama has none of this. These are very serious times and America is to important to vote for someone just because of their race or the fact they're a good speaker or b/c he's a liberal.
Above quote taken from the Original Post.
I agree. McCain has the experience via his service in Congress and voting record to serve this Country very well as President.
Obama is much too inexperienced, way too focused on the race issue and his empty oratory skills. This Country will see taxes raised on everyone... something we do not need...a dictatorship system attempted...the Middle and Upper Class paying for everything...the list goes on and on and on as to why Obama should not be President. Hopefully he won't be.
|
| Obama Posted: 6/28/2008 9:49:02 PM | experience, exshmerience.
Two very experienced world leaders: Saddam Hussein (till recently ya know) and Robert Mugabe. I could go on.....can anyone say Kim Jong-Il?
This Country will see taxes raised on everyone... something we do not need...a dictatorship system attempted...the Middle and Upper Class paying for everything...
Completely unsubstantiated speculation. Provide one spot of credible evidence (like....his own policy statements, for example?) that Obama would raise taxes on "everyone," attempt to impose a dictatorship (are you sniffing glue?) or force the Middle and Upper class to pay for "everything" (everything? Like....EVERYTHING?).
Speaking of "empty oratory"....well, empty rhetoric at least.....
Evidence?
And I seriously think that the people too focused on the race issue are not him or even most of his supporters....but the white folks so scared of that dusky complexion of his....
|
| Obama Posted: 6/29/2008 7:44:20 AM | His supporters are more interested in making history than doing what is best for all Americans...Interesting how Obama supporters bash Bush for spending money on the War but give Obama a pass, even though he played a major part in committing us to almost double what has been spent on the war thus far..if we are in a deficit because of the War why does it make sense to increase that deficit by a Trillion dollars(Global Poverty Act)? This is just the beginning....How can anything Obama plans to do be good for the economy now? punishing the Rich is not the answer, Socialism is not the answer, no matter how you try to dress up or misrepresent Obamas plans they are what they are, a step closer to Socialism. You could be provided with evidence but in your euphoric state of Obamania what good would it do, you are all beyond "Hope"...no matter how many reasons people express as to why they do not support Obama the only thing your side can come up with is that anyone that doesn't support Obama is a racist...thats pretty sad...You should really research Obama more, he seems to be the one with issues about race... | |
|
| Obama Posted: 6/29/2008 8:24:17 AM | Intrepidinv, You sound like an agent provocature, and trying to insert negatives(Obama was smoking crack, ect)like your fore fathers did and others are doing now in the present to destabalize these supposedly countries ran by black people that you refer to. Check your own history and see who the bandits were that set out around the world for world domination at any cost. Somalia" has long been undermined and destabalized by the United Snakes Of Amerikkka, that why U.S troops were there instead of South Africa against Bolter's aparthied era and you know it! This country has by any means influenced and set up for failure many countries around the globe. And these countries are in big trouble because of "greedy white men", is this not fact, as bad as it is to accept! I say like you without my digressing!..................................Peace. | |
