Posted: 6/4/2008 11:26:46 PM | Speaking of "Hell no!!" did anyone see this article? http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/Carter_Hillary_Obama_/2008/06/04/101635.html?s=al&promo_code=63BD-1 Carter recommended before Obama got the nomination that he steer clear of Hillary. Interesting, huh?

| Obama supporters - should he pick Hilary for VP? Posted: 6/4/2008 11:35:28 PM | | If I were an American I would be an Obama suporter. Why would he pick Hillary when she would want another try in 4 years. Obama would always have to look over his shoulder to make sure the Clintons were not trying to sabotage him. They are deadly opponants. Obama has had to dodge enough attacks from them.[devil] | |

Thanks for the link. I guess Carter's a lot more astute than people give him credit for. Ever the diplomat though, he did fall short of saying to Obama; "People are pulling for you, why the hell would you want that sycophant on the ticket with you?"

It wouldn't suprise me if Hillary and McCain paired up and choose a Bipartisian ticket. Both have had constructive things to say about each other.

Hillary (says she) wants to defeat the Republicans. As much as she is all for power and greed, in similar fashion as many Republicans, I dont' think she'd do that to the Democrats, even if she's spiteful over loosing the ticket.

| Obama supporters - should he pick Hilary for VP? Posted: 6/5/2008 7:01:28 AM | | Hillary shouldn't run on the ticket with Obama. But should endorse Obama because he and his new staff are the only ones who can save this country. She knows he's superior. Just listen to his speeches. He will seek restitution for everyone wronged in this country. He's christian and represents what all Americans want. That's why he has more money for his campaign and why he gets such huge turnouts | |

| Obama supporters - should he pick Hilary for VP? Posted: 6/5/2008 8:10:59 AM | I believe Hillary would actually hurt rather than help Obama's campaign. She is typical Washington, as usual, and doesn't bring anything new to the office of VP. Obama is offering change to believe in....and I doubt he would ask Hill/Bill since we've had 30 years of the Bush/Clinton dynasty and what change was implemented in those 30 years? NONE It's too bad his wife couldn't be his VP, Michele is an asset to him in every way. Since that can't happen, I trust Barack will give this issue very serious thought and reasoning and choose the best of the best and have a ticket that cannot be beat! | |

They are like a skin rash, hard to diagnose, difficult to treat, and just very hard to get rid off. Give it up already...please...Go away!

| Obama supporters - should he pick Hilary for VP? Posted: 6/5/2008 8:39:17 AM | Didn't Hillary say Mccaine would be a better president? Maybe he should have her be his VP instead. That would be amusing.
I hope I'm proven wrong about Obama. I won't go into my feelings about him, cause I made my feelings very clear on another thread .
With that all said, It would be a good political move to have Hillary as VP, but quite possibly a poor personal one. Like them or hate them, it's clear they are adversaries. She will stab him in the back the first chance she gets.

| Obama supporters - should he pick Hilary for VP? Posted: 6/5/2008 11:20:00 AM | | No, not Hillary but Kathleen Sebelius Gov. of Kansas would be an excellent choice...She's a new breed of democrats that would help put a balance of some conservative ideas along with liberal ones. | |

| Obama supporters - should he pick Hilary for VP? Posted: 6/6/2008 6:32:58 AM | I would like to see Mr. Obama choose Senator McCain as his Vice President when he becomes president. The world would benefit right now from a United States of America with just a little more emphasis on the "United". There is a lot of divisiveness and distrust of your politicians I read in here. If Mr. Obama wants to really deliver 'change we can believe in' then to reuniting the American people would would be a good start.
It's not hard to start to imagine what some of these 'changes we can believe in' might be and I note such a discussion thread has already started. Senator McCain is a political giant on the world stage and when discussions start with the 'bad guys' as to how they are going to be expected to behave in this new peaceful world, then I for one would like them to be looking into the eyes of Mr. McCain when they hear it just so they know how serious we are.
As a leader and visionary Mr. Obama offers us all great hope for the future, but as with most visionaries it is the implementation of these ideas that will challenge most. Having someone of Mr. McCain abilities as VP to ensure things 'get done right' would help unite the American people and help unite the world.

| Obama supporters - should he pick Hilary for VP? Posted: 6/6/2008 6:43:58 AM | No I don't want to see him pick Hillary as VP, because I don't want there to be any chance at all that he'll win.
I would like to see Mr. Obama choose Senator McCain as his Vice President when he becomes president.
HUH??? You realize this is completely and totally impossible, right? Regardless of who wins, the VPs will be picked at the conventions. You'd have to go back to the first four US Presidential elections for that scenario. In those elections the person who won became president and the runner up became VP. That didn't work on many levels, and so from then on the Presidential candidate ran on a ticket with the VP.

| Obama supporters - should he pick Hilary for VP? Posted: 6/18/2008 10:02:12 AM | This all feels so familiar: Obama starting a contest, trailing, and his supporters predicting that he will come from behind to win -- because of his appeal to a respectable segment of Independents and Republicans -- which make this election defy conventional election wisdom; and then watching him do it ...
Obama beats McCain in three swing states: poll
WASHINGTON (AFP) - For the first time, White House hopeful Barack Obama leads his Republican rival John McCain in three of the biggest battlegrounds of November's election, according to a new poll Wednesday.
The surveys by Quinnipiac University also found independent voters are opposed to defeated primary contender Hillary Clinton running as Obama's running mate on the Democratic ticket.
Another poll out Wednesday by Zogby had Obama leading McCain by 47 percent to 42 nationally, with a 22-point lead among all-important independents.
The Quinnipiac polls had Obama besting McCain 52-40 percent in Pennsylvania, 48-42 percent in Ohio, and 47-43 in Florida. All three states are crucial building blocks to an election triumph for either candidate in November.
In all three states, Obama leads McCain among female voters by 10 to 23 percentage points, but among men the two contenders are "too close to call," Quinnipiac University Polling Institute assistant director Peter Brown said.
"Finally getting Senator Hillary Clinton out of the race has been a big boost for Senator Barack Obama," he said.
Clinton beat Obama in the three states' Democratic primaries, although neither campaigned in Florida because of a scheduling row. Obama lagged particularly among working-class voters in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
"Senator Obama is certainly not out of the woods, but these results are a good indication that he enters the summer slightly ahead in the race to be the next president," Brown said.
The Quinnipiac surveys found that while most Democrats back Clinton to join Obama's ticket, clear pluralities of independent voters in all three states were against seeing the former first lady run as his vice president.
"If Senator Obama seriously is thinking about picking Senator Clinton as his running mate, these numbers might cause him to reconsider," Brown said.
"The people who really matter come November -- independent voters -- turn thumbs down on the idea. And, many say they are less likely to vote for him if he puts her on the ticket," he said ...

| Obama supporters - should he pick Hilary for VP? Posted: 6/18/2008 8:19:31 PM | How about this one? Does the Democrat party want Bill hanging around the Whitehouse again? Does Obama? Well maybe Bill and Michelle can go out to dinner while the Prez and his Vice have meetings. lol Seriously, It could happen. Seems to be slow in coming but hey, anything is possible. Since Hillary backed McCain against Obama on the experience issue, the Republicans will have fun with that. Will She be looking over Obamas shoulder guiding him until he gets the "on the job" experience? Hey what if McCain takes Hillary on as VP? Not an impossibilty since Kerry asked McCain to be his VP if elected. | |

Something tells me we'd have a hell of a time getting him to any debates. And he is not fluent in English. As for Hillary Clinton, I support Obama either way, but I'd actually at this point say no, go with someone completely different. Biden, or Richardson, IMO. The theme of the campaign is "change"; therefore, no more Bushes OR Clintons...

| Obama supporters - should he pick Hilary for VP? Posted: 6/20/2008 5:54:14 PM | I think Obama will pick someone who can appeal to the white working class, the way Bill Clinton did. I thought Richardson was the likely choice because he has foreign policy experience, but his 3/4 mexican heritage may be fodder for right-wing immigration critics.
I think Obama could select Evan Bayh to win Indiana and Ohio.
Granted, Kerry tried to appeal to the white working class with Edwards, but this was a flawed decision because Edwards did not have much govt experience and Kerry was seen as too much of a northeast liberal to appeal to mid-west and southern voters.
Obama can stress his Mid-west roots and utilize Bayh's governor experience and foreign policy experience in the Senate. This is the most probable choice if he wants to win the electoral college.
