| Let the real show begin (Obama VS McCain) What are your thoughts Posted: 8/3/2008 7:06:06 PM | That's funny...sorta. A few days ago, when dems were gleeful about Obama's 9 point lead in the polls, they referenced Gallup, Classification: Amongst Registered Voters.
The same Gallup poll and classification that shows Obama taking a 9 point dump, to sit evenly 44/44, with McCain this weekend.
Funny how that works. Personally, as I have said prior, I think the only polls that will matter will come in November, as people close the curtain and pull the lever themselves. I merely post the links for these polls for the poll addicts who swear by them.

Here is the link....I don't do the polls....Gallup did.
http://blogsforjohnmccain.com/mccain-and-obama-remain-tied-gallup-tracking-poll-8208
It was that same exact poll that had Obama up by 9 just a few short days ago. Funny it seemed good enough for dems, then.
The more things "change", the more they stay the same.

| Let the real show begin (Obama VS McCain) What are your thoughts Posted: 8/3/2008 9:15:32 PM | After a few exchanges here it's very clear to me ~ many of Hillarys' supporters had a agendia all their own ~ it's questionable if they were, are or ever have been democrats, regardless of what they tell you.
So in many ways ~ this comes as a relief ~ and it's my guess that Obama has figured this out much sooner then I. It concures with some of the delicate footwork we've seen coming from his camp.
It was ~ what it was, ~ and only the future will tell us that. Appear the flies are all over it ~ Rush Lumbaugh stink works . The truth has never being avaliable for the mear asking. `the old addage applies ~ prepair for the worst and expect the best.

| Let the real show begin (Obama VS McCain) What are your thoughts Posted: 8/3/2008 9:28:20 PM | | It's amazing to me that not only Obama but you have just not figured out that Hillary's supporters have been disenfranchized and left out and all your scolding and guilt tripping is doing nothing but pushing them further and further away. Well, i'm guessing that foxy ol' John McCain will welcome them with open arms. pfffffft. amatuers! | |
|
| Let the real show begin (Obama VS McCain) What are your thoughts Posted: 8/3/2008 10:21:18 PM | Oh I don't think it was John ~ I think it was the kind of people that stay up all night attempt to figure out a way to cheat any system. ~ You know the type , "criminally minded" ~ that can't walk by a phone booth without openning the change return to see if someone left some money in it. ~ ~ They think they are smart and everyone else is dumb for playing by the rules. ~` The jails are full of such people `~ it take time to idenify them for they are indeed very sneaky and cleaver. Cheats and thieves have always be with us.
Their only consern is if ~ they can ~ not , if they should. ~
so we refer to honest people as ~ pfffft, amatures? ~ doesn't say much for your party to welcome such people ` ~ and if you still lose after cheating ~ want can I say? to clearify " republicians voting in democrat primarys" is the issue
I was a Hillary supporter ~ but she lost! ~ thats just the way it works ~ I've been disenfranchised ~ for years ~ ~ you'll get use to it. ` Dance

I wanted to comment on the negative campaign ads from McCain's campaign. I have to agree with Bikeman from a previous posting that I too am tired of viewing these as well. I do not need McCain informing me bad things about Obama, I have discovered these things for myself and if I hear Obama state ONE MORE TIME that he does not look like any of the presidents on our American currency, I"m going to scream! Does he think we didn't realize this already? Guess what? McCain doesn't look like any of them either!!!!

Still ahead. Compilations, strongdad, compilations....not just Gallup. Read them. Know them. Love them.
Hmm . . . I think we can all agree, that Real Clear Politics is one of those "aggregators" that averages the polls. As of this morning, it has Obama with a 2.7 percent lead:
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/general_election_mccain_vs_obama-225.html
These guys are in a statistical tie.
If Obama gets no bump from the convention (like he didn't from that trip to Europe), then he's doomed.
We'll see . . . | |

| Let the real show begin (Obama VS McCain) What are your thoughts Posted: 8/4/2008 6:07:29 AM | I attended a meeting this week in which they informed us that if we can not raise the taxes in our district we may not be able to meet our budget in two years.
faith ...this is probably off topic but where i live a ploy of the board of education is ..every time they get a vote up to raise taxes for education ...and this has been going on for many years ...they always say that if the tax dont pass that they wont be able to meet the budget and services will have to be curtailed ...well the people have always voted the new taxes down and no services have been curtailed ...I have heard this till im sick of it scare politics ...but every time they get a special tax on the ballot they start this ...they should just say please give us more money that we can pilfer and steal
If I knew how to contact a moderator, I would do so. Sorry for the disruption in the thread. Yes, some people like to keep their posting rights. So, they should not harrass others in email.

" republicans voting in democrat primary" is the issue
...well dance last time i checked i was an American ...i have never registered with any party ...and I usually vote in the democrat primary ...because the local area where I live is democratic and if i were to vote on the Republican ticket I could not vote for anyone except the president ...elections like Governor ,sheriff ,road commissioners, education officials ,state legislature, and a host of other elections have no Republicans running ...it would be the exception where i voted in the republican primary ...and I voted for Obama in the primary mainly because i didnt like Hillery ...but If something dont change my mind I will vote for McCain in Nov. because i dont like Obama ...actually Its been a long time in national elections where my vote has been for someone rather than a vote against the one that i feel to be the greater evil.....in Alabama you chose the primary you want to vote in at the poll ...you can change every time ...you just cant vote in both ...or you cant vote in a runoff if you voted in the opposite primary ...why is this not fair ...even Hillery was a Republican before she married Bill

| Let the real show begin (Obama VS McCain) What are your thoughts Posted: 8/4/2008 11:44:28 AM | scherri says: "Obama choose not to participate in town hall meetings because he has no need to. He simply do not need them. Why should he participate in a debate with McCain after the audience is stacked with McCain supporters?... I have yet to hear a McCain supporter, in these forums, tell why they support McCain. Mostly I hear, negative opinions of Obama, as to why they don't support Obama, which equates to me, Vote for McCain because he is not Obama."
I find this the typical mind set of the Obama followers. "Why should we?"
|
| Let the real show begin (Obama VS McCain) What are your thoughts Posted: 8/4/2008 12:42:26 PM | | Now Obama is in favor of off-shore drilling. Sounds again like he's catching up to McCain in his understandings of the issues. If Obama keeps winding up following McCain to the same conclusions, why not just vote for McCain and save the echo? | |
|
| Let the real show begin (Obama VS McCain) What are your thoughts Posted: 8/4/2008 12:51:45 PM | True. Obama seems to think that he can criticize the parade for years, then, when he sees how the parade is moving, try and run out in front of it and claim he lead it all along. He has done the same thing with the Iraq war, as he is now calling for a pull out in "16 months". Of course, Obama says, that would depend on ground conditions, etc. Not like McCain has been saying that all along. We see you, Mr. Obama. Some may not. But, we do. In fact, we see right through you. Trying to act as if you have the solution to energy, when your history shows you have been a foot dragger, is ridiculous. And, the trip to Iraq. A complete farce. He should be embarrassed, trying to convince us that he is Commander in Chief material. Pathetic.
He reminds me of that feel good guru, Tony Robbins, selling hype.

I don't pretend to know the mindset of Obama followers as I am not a follower. Yes, I am voting for Obama in this election. McCain's stance on the issues does not appeal to me,Obama's does.
As far as the debates go, Obama offered to have 5 debates with McCain, the three the CPD organized, a debate in August strictly on foreign policy and a town hall meeting that would have taken place in July. McCain turned this down and countered with 10 town hall meetings in addition to the three CPD debates all to take place between July and November! McCain knew this was not feesible. He knew Obama would turn it down because it simply ties up too much time, Obama has foreign nations to visit and there is quite frankly, no need for 13 debates! Five is the most any presidential candidates have ever had. Now that Obama has turned this down, McCain and his supporters uses this as some political manuever. Ludricris, I mean ludicrous. No one says anything about why McCain did not agree to the five Obama proposed. The media hasn't put any spotlight on that. Obama's offer was reasonable, McCains was not. McCain needs the media attention, Obama does not, people are already following him in the media, supporters and non supporters.
Obama does not need 13 debates, McCain does, why should Obama bail him out?
|
| Let the real show begin (Obama VS McCain) What are your thoughts Posted: 8/4/2008 2:41:51 PM | Yes. And, with all that media following Obama around, with all that attention, he should have been 20 points out already. Truly pathetic, impotent performance.
The best it has gotten him, is a dead heat in the polls, which lefties seem to love so much. Hilarious.

| Let the real show begin (Obama VS McCain) What are your thoughts Posted: 8/4/2008 2:53:18 PM | ^^^ Do you have any idea why Obama debate proposal was rejected by McCains camp?
I don't think the polls are important. I never really view them or use it as a way to figure out who will when. When it comes down to it, people will vote the way they want and not just according to some poll. History has proven that. I really don't care what the polls say and don't think they are quite accurate one way or the other.

| Let the real show begin (Obama VS McCain) What are your thoughts Posted: 8/4/2008 3:13:11 PM | I don't think you understand what I am saying nor do we agree. It really has nothing to do with any type of generalization of Obama voters.
I would genuinely like to know why anyone thinks Obama or McCain should participate in 13 debates.
|
| Let the real show begin (Obama VS McCain) What are your thoughts Posted: 8/4/2008 3:17:52 PM | | Personally, I think the 13 debate invitation might be a Rove tactic, to set Obama up to look like a jerk for not falling all over it. I mean really, I don't think McCain wants 13 debates either. Look at how poorly he does especially when someone disagrees with him, why would you want to put your candidate out there 13 times? I think three are just fine, and I can't wait for them to start. | |
