| | Do you Believe in Love or is it Just About Finding a Compatible Person?Page 6 of 6 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) | | In order to fall in love with them, they'd have to be compatible. But not everyone who is compatible is someone I'd fall in love with. If I was looking for mere compatibility, I would have not have been divorced 17 years, nor on dating sites for the last nine. IF I ever live with and/or marry again, it will be for life and it will be with the right man and for the right reasons. I'm obviously in no hurry. | |

| Do you Believe in Love or is it Just About Finding a Compatible Person? Posted: 7/30/2008 4:56:22 PM | Isn't finding a compatible person the first step to finding love? If you don't find someone you want to be around, want to talk to, share interests, etc; how the hell can you love them?
you are compatible with the one u love of course. but ur compatible with thousands. that does not mean ur gonna be in love with them. being compatible and being in love are two different things.
compatible---having things in common..just freinds. love---having things in commom and the world circles around that person in ur eyes and consumes all ur daily and nightly thoughts.
see compatible with both but only are in love with one.

| Do you Believe in Love or is it Just About Finding a Compatible Person? Posted: 7/30/2008 5:36:13 PM | I beleive in love - I don't beleive in TRUE love, but I beleive in love.
Love, to me - is that warmth in your heart when you see her, it's acceptance and trust, it's about caring about her day to day life, and happily standing by her side in hard times. It is passion, and compassion. It's striving to be the best I can be - not just for my sake, but hers as well, it is selfless.
It's more then just that, but that is what love is to me.

| Do you Believe in Love or is it Just About Finding a Compatible Person? Posted: 7/30/2008 6:39:22 PM | I do believe in love. I believe it takes time to grow though. It doesn't happen over night. It takes two to want it. Relationships take time getting to know each other. He/she is your best friend, partner,lover,etc...confide in each other, trust, loyalty, chemistry. I do believe still. | |

| Do you Believe in Love or is it Just About Finding a Compatible Person? Posted: 7/31/2008 6:48:59 AM | Unfortunately I have the undesirable capability to fall for someone completely incompatible.
like a Jets fan!
Relationships are much easier with people you have things in common with, but it's not a requirement. It makes things easier, but is not absolutely necessary.
In any relationships that were working for a while, I've noticed it is not required to mirror one another, but both people need to have their own life, respect for each other, high tolerance, and similar character traits.
Then again, bear in mind I'm single yet again, so .. Perhaps that mirror image of ourselves WOULD work best as a partner.

| Do you Believe in Love or is it Just About Finding a Compatible Person? Posted: 8/1/2008 5:14:09 AM | Love is a word that shouldn't be taken lightly. I myself, tend to develop feelings for someone rather quickly. And its mostly just by connection with personalities & way of thinking. Looks & hobbies come 2nd.
Yes I believe in love. I believe in commitment. I believe in intimacy (based on trust, honesty, love) I don't take sex lightly either. I don't like casual dating, quickies/one night stands/flings. I don't believe in Multiple dating also. If I am on a date with one person, I just date one person @ a time. I make that person my main focus, although I can multi date but I refuse to especially If I am that interested with someone to get to know them without other distractions whether its someone else or their cellphone ringing or mine ringing. nothing.
If I am inlove with someone I want it to be something that would last for a long time not just for short term or just in need to be in one.
Yes I believe in love and companionship. there are moments I wish that someone is there to share things with. someone I can spend weekends with laying down with messed up sheets, just looking @ each other enjoying the moment. Laughing @ his jokes that aren't funny & he does the same to mine. Someone I kiss whenever I want for as long as i want. and the lists goes on.
Well when you see someoene across the room & your eyes meet & he smiles/knods @ you. He is interested. But when he just looks & turns away he is checking you out but not the way you want him to look @ you. I have fell inlove a million times, been engaged too. So love to me is quite SACRED that once I give my heart to someone I am committed to that person 110% of the time, no questions ask. So whomever I end up with is A VERY LUCKY MAN.

| Do you Believe in Love or is it Just About Finding a Compatible Person? Posted: 6/28/2009 6:49:06 AM | ^^^ BVilleUK raises a very good point. Contentment is the one thing that a lot of people fall down on. We seem as human beings to never really be content. We can have a multitude of blessings in life, home, family, partner we love etc,.. but still that niggling little voice in our heads seems to say,'But, I want more!!' 'Is this all there is to life?!' Making the decision to be content with what you have is key to keeping love strong. Once the yearning for excitemnent and pastures new starts, no matter how much love or compatability is there, the discontent will destroy it. Most people find a good enough partnership, its never pefect, theres always some coponent missing, but most get what they want to a certain extent,.. but they always want more,.. that elusive thing that will make everything complete, wether it be more fantasy type sex, excitement, romance, whatever it is, recognise that it is just your devil on your shoulder. A destructive voice that tells you to seek for more. I believe in love and compatbility. I believe love will not last, and cannot work without compatibility. So, its love/compatibility/contentment.
