| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/9/2008 2:03:49 PM | This is not a good idea for you. You might not even like this person. Please don't give it a second thought. We could set you up in business in my neighborhood. Go out to eat, have a glass of wine, & see if you even like this person. Best wishes. | |

| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/10/2008 8:20:44 PM | | Okay I may be missing the point but just this week I read an article on yahoo that stated that singles over the age of fifty were more likely to have sex on the first date than their younger counterparts. So he seems to lend credibility to that study if he is seeking sex. Not to mention, if two people over the legal age want to sit (or do whatever) in a hot tub on their first date, then who are we to say they're wrong? | |

| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/11/2008 11:35:41 AM | Actually, I don't remember ever getting naked on a first date when I had a hot body.
But, if I wanted to, I would. Anyone interested in me like that wouldn't notice my imperfections.

With or without the candles and rose petals .... Not a chance.
BTW. Mothers used to insist their daughters wear classy underwear "In case they were hit by a bus" ... Is it true that's been changed to "Carry the latest swim suit in case you're invited to a Hot Tub"?
Just wondering. | |

| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/11/2008 1:01:46 PM | Only after a lot of dates and then in bathing suits until after we had been sexually and emotionally intimate. then it would be romantic. Prior to that I would call it predatory | |

I would call it predatory lol. You sound as if you don't have a mind of your own. How in the world could it be predatory? It's an invite woman. I would invite a woman on a first date if I liked her A LOT. But she'd be awfully disappointed if she expected more. Come to think of it, a woman I'd invite wouldn't be disappointed. (figure that one out and you win a cigar.)

No, I'm still trying to work on sharing my popcorn

| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/15/2008 12:00:15 AM | Who said you have to wear a swimsuit? A suit is fine.
Hey, wanna join me in my hot tub?" lol.... that's not how ya do it! lol
If I had someone special with me: After dinner, I pour some wine and walk out to the patio with her (soft music in the background), and talk a bit. Then I hand her my glass and say "One sec. I forgot to do my tub today." Flip the lid turn it on (lights too) and drop a cap full of stuff into it. Then sit on the edge and put my hand out for my glass (keeping my eyes on it, not her). Just before the glass is in reach, I lose my balance and slip backwards into the tub (big splash). I pretend that I'm embarrassed of course. "Oh well... (chuckle) I'm wet now." I stay in, turn it up full, put my arms over the edge, and once again put my hand out for my glass. THEN I say "Hey-wanna-join-me-in-my-hot-tub"

| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/15/2008 5:33:26 AM | I`m pretty sure he was talking about a private hot tub ,not one at the gym !! I `ve had a first date a few years ago ,about 900 miles from home ,and he had rented a hotel room with a hot tub next to the bed.... He was special,I wouldn`t just do it with anyone. | |

| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/15/2008 5:51:38 AM | Heck, I am thinking that I need to get myself a hot tub installed in my back yard! Look at all the excitement I could be having!!!! | |

| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/15/2008 5:59:48 AM | I really think it has less to do with someone's physical assets and more to do with what that guy is seeking... Well, I'm not going to assume what whoever's profile it was had sex in mind. Highly likely, of course, but I'm one to give the benefit of a doubt if possible. Probably make a terrible juror for the prosecution.
Off-topic, I might point out that it is not only men that seek physical gratification on the first date. I was waylaid (yep, pun intended) last year by a lady I met here. Completely unexpected and dang fun - and we haven't done it again, although we occasionally write.
Nor is the experience something I'd want regularly - in fact, it was my first and only experience at being overwhelmed like that. Likely the last, although I do wonder if it happens more frequently (to others) at a younger or older age...
Okay, that's my confession for the day - I'm off to mow.

| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/15/2008 6:52:39 AM | | I had a first date once and was in the hot tub with a guy. we both wore swimsuits and just talked and nothing sexual happened at all. He was kind of an odd sort and lost my interest when he said that teachers were not known to be really intelligent (he is a teacher but since he teaches in a public college, he is smart since I teach in a public elementary and middle school I am dumb?--I actually have a higher income than he does, he kept talking about having to work 2 jobs to pay child support. He also told me that i had major committment issues since I have not been married, that I was not bad looking but too fat ( he was also probably more overweight than I am), then he said that he assumed that I had my tubes tied since i had not had children. I just looked at him when he said all these comments and finished my glass of wine and had to leave shortly after that. I had met the man at a cookout at a neighbor's house, and she and her husband said he seemed to be okay, when they learned how he conducted himself conversation wise they said providing him with anymore women to date was no longer an option. He did give me some awesome recipes for steak marinade, ice cream, and prepared a wonderful dinner. | |

Cos I have to say, that if I turned up for a date and he wanted me to go to the gym and get into the hot tub, I am not sure I would be totally relaxed about it, 1. For health reasons (how clean is the hot tub), 2. For modesty reasons (who wants to get naked with a stranger)? 3. And lastly what if you didn't like what you saw when the person stripped off and it was one of those 'puke moments'?
I actually did go to the gym on a first meeting/date with a guy from here. He lives in another city and was going to be in my city for a day. We went to the YMCA, sat in the hot tub and the sauna. It was a lot of fun.
I dont think you need to worry to much about the health concerns if it is being professionally taken care of. Regarding your modesty reasons for not going, I have never been to a public hot tub where you were allowed to be naked, well except for the one time at the nudist camp, lol.
But I do agree with you about the hot tub if it is at his home, that is a different story, and takes it from an activity to a prelude to sexual activity!
and chances are this is just a fantasy of his, AND the best way to find someone to participate in a fantasy is to ask!! after all no hurt no foul!

...OMG...that was funny Talk about a sly devil....oh man your good, real good....and the thing is, you would probably have the ladies laughing at your silliness as they climb in with ya
Hot tub, first date.....hmmmm, let me re-think that.

| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/15/2008 12:03:15 PM | Geez people..I've had a few first dates and we tubbed..there was no sex involved..it was just a end to a nice evening, watching the stars and sipping some zin.. I think some people put a sex spin on something simple as saying hello.. So if you don't feel comfortable in a tub after a date..fine don't..it's not rocket science.. If you like the comfort of warm water and the relaxing effect on your muscles..do it.. Sorry, I don't need a hottub to get someone in the mood for sex..if you do, then you need to look at how you are treating your dates.. No I'm not a saint or pretend to be, just confident in the fact that my basic manners and treatment of others attracts the opposite sex much more than .."hey wanna get in my tub naked and do it?
dusty, shrugging his shoulders and shaking his head..

| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/15/2008 12:26:10 PM | Ageless Wonder on the subject of your honor, consider the following brief story.
On their wedding night the lord bows to his new bride and says, "Milady, I offer you my honor, as a lord and gentleman!" The lady smiles sweetly, curtsies and replies, "Kind sir, I humbly honor your most gracious offer" And so went the rest of the evening. Honor ... Offer ... Honor ... Offer ...
On the other hand, we could just put your honor and my pride in a Ziploc baggie and then we wouldn't have to worry about them getting wet!

Ummm.... Mae? You have a swimsuit photo in your profile. Wear the flotation device into the hot tub and I'm sure he'll get the message
I keep the water very warm in my hot tub.... sex wouldn't be that good for either person. That would be a good way to "not impress" a first date. As a first date activity to enjoy the relaxation/ambiance in a tub is fine. As a hot tub owner, I'd make an attempt to determine if she is inhibitted by such an activity, or not.
This can be a catch-22 depending on the hot tub owners real intentions.

how many of us have good enough bodies to get naked on the first meeting with the opposite sex.
I never got naked on a first meeting even when I had the younger 36-24-36 body, it has nothing to do with how good my body does or doesnât look.
Does anyone think this is a romantic date?
It is when you are in a romantic relationship.
So is the Surprize hot tub with the roses and candles a romantic idea or not.
Well, into a relationship? Oh heavens, YES!
First date or total stranger? Hell, NO!

..I do, don't I?.....and thank god for that camouflage....nothing says no thank-you than someone showing up wearing a floatation device.

| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/15/2008 7:52:09 PM | | What about taking a first date to a Polar Bear Club meeting? You know, about 100 people standing around on a frozen lake in swimsuits waiting for the guy with the saw to cut through the ice so they can all jump in? I did that a couple of times when I lived in Colorado. | |
