Personally, I would think you should feel a little dirty.... and worried
I have no doubt that I will die. Cancer, heart attack, stroke are better ways to die?
But it's a spurious argument. It's not about death. it's about violating cultural morals.

No ... what it seems to be about (to me) is making others understand what you're saying and offer some sort of agreement. The first, you got. The second is where the problem lies. Because to violate cultural morals (as you put it), you're usually found in the minority and thus, agreement will be small.
I do understand your point of view, sir – both here and in other threads you have posted to. Let's grab a little 'nookie' now before we're dead. And with some degree of repetitive practice, one can become rather good at it. I mean really ... don't you think everyone here has, at one point in their life, had great sex and lots of it ?? I have ... and I'm sure a show of hands would prove my assumption correct. The point is, for me anyway, I’ve been there, got the t-shirt, and frankly sex to just ‘get my rocks off’ with an 11 am checkout time is kinda boring and rather ineffective. If there’s not something there, more than just getting laid ‘cause I need it, it’s not great sex – more like so-so sex with not a lot of emotion. That I can get ‘by my own hand’ (so to speak) and save myself a lot of the problems that come with using others to satisfy sexual urges. There’s a reason why hookers are paid wages as an employee would be.
And to slide back on topic ... Would I get in a hot tub on a first date with a woman ?? – well, d’uh !! I’d be kinda foolish to rule out that possibility, now wouldn’t I ?? Of course it could happen. But she’d definitely be one very special woman (to me), and chances are very good that I’d be seeing a whole lot more of her in the coming months. And, of course, the big question: “Would I ask a woman to hop in a hot tub with me on the first date?” Well ... the only way I could see that happening is if I could see in her eyes that that was the question to be asked at the time. And being that I generally try to avoid being in situations where this scenario would arise (my morality talking here), the chances of that happening seem rather slim, to me. But to rule out the possibility ?? ... naaahh. To try to coerce a woman to do this ?? ... naaahh. The first would be dumb. The second would lack ‘class’ ... in my opinion, of course.

It's interesting to me that women divide the world into two camps - cheap whores and "valuable women".
Men have been doing it for years, only they called them mistress and wife.

| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/21/2008 11:33:52 AM | It would appear to me in the forums, at least... Shimbo's motto is: Have weiner, will travel!
OT: To my way of thinking, two people know what feels right and what doesn't. At our age, who isn't mature enough to know what they want, get it and feel good about it? And that is the hot tub deal, or perhaps, bypass that and just have a normal date? It is an individuals comfort level, plain and simple.

| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/21/2008 11:46:00 AM | I have had a first date at my gym, it was one of the best. A work out followed by sauna, steam room, spa and then a meal. I think it's more about confidence and acceptance of who we are than wishing for the body of a woman aged twenty. By the way we both wore swim costumes. | |

| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/21/2008 5:32:36 PM | He certainly hasn't convinced me to change my value/moral system.. that's called integrity.
Any woman can lay on her back and allow a man to do as he pleases.. and then scream.. NEXT! You'll find these are women that either get paid for it.. or have no or extremely little self-esteem and/or self-respect. I have plenty of both! Besides.. I wonder just how much these women actually "enjoy" this/these type/s of sexual encounter/s.. hmmmmm?
My kids were/are well worth the wait. I chose to put their wants/needs first. That was my option about me.. no one elses decision or life disturbed/slighted/effected.
I doubt corpses are at all attractive.. then again.. I don't consider going on 50 as old. I have just begun the best part of my life.. and I don't have to share my time/efforts between a man and little ones. I'm alllllllllll his now! Some men might find that even more attractive in a woman.

It sounds like Shimbo is trying to tell the ladies he's Wasted Away Again in Weinerville
Nibblin' on Moon Pie Watchin' her hair fly All of her body covered with oil. Strummin' my six inch On my bondage swing. Smell that poon It's beginnin' to boil.
Wasted away again in Margaritaville, Searchin' for my lost pillar of salt. Some people claim that there's a woman who never came, But I know...
It's her own damn fault.
Thank you, thank you, I'm only here for two more nights!
|
| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/21/2008 6:33:02 PM | .....and those two nights can't pass fast enough.
I'll give your apologies to Jimmy Buffet:
Nibblin' on sponge cake, watchin' the sun bake; All of those tourists covered with oil. Strummin' my six string on my front porch swing. Smell those shrimp They're beginnin' to boil.
Wasted away again in Margaritaville, Searchin' for my lost shaker of salt. Some people claim that there's a woman to blame, But I know it's nobody's fault.
Don't know the reason, Stayed here all season With nothing to show but this brand new tattoo. But it's a real beauty, A Mexican cutie, how it got here I haven't a clue.
Wasted away again in Margaritaville, Searchin' for my lost shaker of salt. Some people claim that there's a woman to blame, Now I think, - hell it could be my fault.
I blew out my flip flop, Stepped on a pop top, Cut my heel, had to cruise on back home. But there's booze in the blender, And soon it will render That frozen concoction that helps me hang on.
Wasted away again in Margaritaville Searchin' for my lost shaker of salt. Some people claim that there's a woman to blame, But I know, it's my own damn fault. Yes, and some people claim that there's a woman to blame And I know it's my own damn fault.

| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Surpized at replies Posted: 6/22/2008 6:27:49 AM | So reading the replies this guy would strike lucky if he suggested that as a first date, dont know why you girls have the swim suit in the bag (but what do I know )
I just thought it was a strange thing to SURPRIZE a woman with on a first date, but obviously not for most of the women, they seem to go for it, so its me who is strange not to want to jump into the hot tub with a stranger on first meeting and it appears 99% of the men wouldnt do it either
Thanks everyone for the feed back - maybe I should try it cos it sure sounds like the women off this site are enjoying it, sangria and all Anyone want to jump in the hot tub with me tonight?

Hmm, maybe I have forgotten how to read but it seems to me that the majority has been a resounding NO to the hot tub on a first date. Most of the women don't wish to be "exposed" to a stranger, most of the guys also didn't think it was a good idea to ask, suggest or even hint at the idea. A few have but only because it was someone they had been emailing or talking to for quite sometime. A few thought, why not but a swim suit was a must, a few guys said if they really hit it off and one guys has the mindset of anywhere, anytime and anyone, don’t know for sure if anyone includes men as well.
So, I didn't see where a majority of ladies would go for it and he would get "lucky".

| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/22/2008 3:52:44 PM | | I happen to keep a swimsuit and towel in my bag in the car in case I want to stop off at the local Y for a swim but the public hot tub wouldn't be a romantic place even if you added roses and candles. | |
|
| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/22/2008 5:07:26 PM | | I keep a change of clothes in the car since I commute and sometimes make plans after work, but it would not be the hot tub with a man I don't know. | |
|
| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Posted: 6/22/2008 6:11:16 PM | I keep a travel-blanket in my car. I have it there in case of emergencies.. not in case I want to jump in the back seat with somebody. I was always told to keep it.. and a first aid-kit in there.. cause.. you never know.. and.. I just know me.. and my luck!
So far.. I've never used it. (Knocking on the wooden desk.)

The population of "over 45" on PoF is hugely skewed... towards celibacy. Just mentioning it, is all.
I've had three first-time, post-divorce dates which ended in sex. Nowadays I'm very suspicious of women who find reasons to avoid sex for 5, 10 or 15 years at a time.

The only thing skewed is the idea that someone not wanting to have sex with a complete stranger equals celibacy.
I've had three first-time, post-divorce dates which ended in sex.
I’ve had sex a bit more than three times since my divorce, somehow three dates with sex doesn’t sound like much to brag about, maybe just my opinion.
Nowadays I'm very suspicious of women who find reasons to avoid sex for 5, 10 or 15 years at a time.
Wouldn’t know what that was like, never had to go without for any of those time lines.

Surpized at replies Posted: 6/22/2008 8:03:04 PM | | I don't understand what's supposed to be "suspicious" about not wanting a first-date ending with sex.. or a woman that has "chosen her priorities" as not being sex.. but devoting her time in the invaluable lives of her children. Maybe.. you have just "too much" sex on the mind (like an overly-hormonal teenager).. and that would "alert" a woman with values and morals to not "want" to date you. Bragging about one-time first-date sexual encounters.. isn't what most of the women on this forum are looking for.. but establishing relationships.. with sex. That is not the definition of celibacy. Ya got that right Red! Just because a gal doesn't wish to ride the baloney pony (pardon my frankness), on a first date, does not mean she is leading a celibate life. According to Mr. Let's do it on the first date, I will be "celibate" the rest of my life simply because I choose not to put out with a stranger? Really now! I love the assumptions that some arrogant folks make! Isn't life refreshing at times???
|
| Hot Tub and the First Date - would you? Surpized at replies Posted: 6/22/2008 9:41:30 PM | And then.. the men with that type of mentallity wonder why we don't/won't "put out" at all? Mis-labeling someone that has a grip on what she's looking for.. and not settling for any ole romp in the hay.. whenever.. priceless!!! | |
