I think there is SOMETHING to it. Throughout the ages, a lot of very intelligent people have put some credence in it. It accords with the ancient philosophy of "as above, so below". If you believe in a Creator and an intelligently designed universe, it seems logical to assume that the "heavenly bodies" might influence our affairs in some way. I fear that very few, however, really understand exactly HOW they do affect us and that most of what passes for astrological "wisdom" these days, eg, newspaper horoscopes and most of the popular literature available on the subject, is better suited for the bottom of the bird cage. Also, the advice of Cassius from Julius Caesar's day --- "the fault, dear Brutus, lies not in our stars but in ourselves" --- is all too often appropriate.

Astrology definitely has some value, but to get true value, one has to look at the full chart. I usually look at a wheel - that's when you look at what houses the planets are in at the time of birth. Frankly, just looking at the sun side is fairly useless, as it's a large generalization.

I've generated synestry charts for people online before, and it usually gives a fairly accurate summation of my impression of the energy there. Hell, I've even not bothered to meet people after looking at a very negative chart for me. (though I did talk briefly on the phone, which confirmed the impression) But to do that, you need date, fairly accurate time of birth, and location of birth.

Nobody claims that gravity, microwaves or radiation spewing from the planets is the reason that astrology works. I don't understand WHY it works, only that it DOES work. Leave it to a Capricorn to need a "well built structure" to believe in....

HEY..I have Leo in my ascendant and Aquarius in the moon quadrant..

Just seems to me that the weak radiation from the heavenly bodies is a little too weak to work on a person. We need a pretty good telescopes to see them with any clarity.. Electromagnetic fields are known to affect a persons brain. That is usually done with a very close field. Radiation strength drops off at a square of the distance. I never get decent radio reception with my neural net..

NOTHING about a tyical Piscien aplies to me. Ishare as much in comon with ALL star sighns, because they are all generalisation. there is a technique called cold reading that alows you to apply enougth bits of general information together to make a reading seem extreamly acurate. Its all rubish.

I do believe that when someone is so given over to believing in the "biblical tower of babal," where God confuesed their tongues, because they built a tower to the worship of the stars, or astrology, that they will begin allowing their minds to be controlled by spirits, and become to open to their influence and they will begin taking on the atributes ascribed to their birth sign with out even knowing it or reading a book, their spirit will pick up the influences and transmit it to their minds and they will surcome to the spirit of divination.
So, yes I do believe in the influence of astrology.

Interesting:the Septuagent bible says in Deuteronomy 18 :Deut 18:9-13

Again, my faith in astrology has not led me astray.

I broke my cell phone at work about a month ago. Even though it was during a Mercury retrograde, and I knew better than to buy a communications device at that time, I had to get a phone for work. I dropped $375 on a shiny new Motorola. I had it for about a week, and the switch that signals if the phone is open or closed, just died. No problem. Went to Rogers to exchange it. They don't do that. I asked to send it into the shop for repairs. They didn't have a loaner. Stormed out of the Rogers store mumbling "billion dollar corporation......no spare phones.....what a fuking joke.......". Went to a bar last weekend, lent my phone to my roommate. He claims to have given it back. Once home, checked all my pockets. Mysteriously disappeared. WTF? Damn mercury retrograde phone! grrrrrr.......

I 2 believe that the signs are ascribed at birth but we have a lifetime to develope into the rest of ourselves.(the other 11 signs?)(or take the personality of Christ)But to me it`s just like science. Every area of science is just a small piece of the pie without seeing the big picture.
It`s like worshipping the created instead of the creator.

Interesting, but before I was saved I was a sorcerer, and astrologer and a psychic healer,
and I have come to the realization that as it say in scripture, the signs in the heavens that reveal Jesus are the costilations, the pyramid at Gisa or Chops that was buil by Joseph who was sold into slavery has a Sphyns in front of it, why, because it reresents the begining and end of the zodiac, the Lion of the tribe of Juda (depicting Jesus), and Virgo (representing the bride of Christ).
Now, for a quick lesson: scorpio (look at the entire costilation), it depicts a man reaching for a crown (the crown of life), and his foot is crushing the head of a scorpion (the Aramaic word for that particular heavenly scorpion is curse), he is breaking the curse by reaching for life.
Now, and igmatic goat with a fishes tail, (why) because the goat represents the Hebrew scape goat, that also represented Jesus taking on the sins of the world, and why the fish tail, because not only are we called to be fisher of men, but it represenst the increase of the kingdom of God that came out of Jesus's sacrafice.
and the bull isn't a bull but a reem or ream, almost the size to an elephant, and the vengence of Jesus when he returnes,
These origional names of the individual stars in these costilations all reflect the glory of Jesus 1,000's of years ahead of time and the names are the origional Hebrew, Chadean, and Aramaic names given the stars, maybe by Adam before his fall.

Provide one bit of evidence for any of that. The constelations as we see them today are a small selection from a collection of various cultures and religions throughout history.
Mostly they are Greek like Orion and Scorpio, but some are Persian like Capricorn, some Egyptian like Lio and some are Mesopotamian like Taurus.

I'm a big fan of old super 8 film cameras for my experimental work.I have a few that need some TLC but finding a tech who will work on them without charging more than what they're worth is damn near impossible.Let's try an experiment,give me a good time to attempt repair or have it done and we'll see if it works.

Maybe you can offer some suggestions on when and where to get repairs and what sign the tech should be.

I will also be travelling to Cuba for work,doing a story on drug interdiction Jan 10 to 14,what can you tell me about those days?

Taurus, you crack me up! I seriously doubt you would take my advice seriously. Ummmm.... aquarius....... moon sign/sun sign of the day/ sign of repair dude. I could look at your chart, with transits for the Jan 10-14 period, but somehow I think my efforts would be wasted. The full moon falls on the 13th, so the whole trip should be fairly energetic/upbeat.

According to the Chinese placemats, born in the Year of the Horse, in my first two "phases of life" I could expect "trouble" and "more trouble". The third phase is supposed to be "contentment at last". Bring it on, baby!

Seriously, re astrology, there's probably SOME truth in it. But my advice is, if you do pay some attention to it, pay equal attention to the words put into the mouth of Cassius by Shakespeare in "Julius Caesar": "The fault, dear Brutus, lies not in our stars but in ourselves." We may be influenced by the stars but should we be ruled by them?

Actually the stars have little to do with it. It's about orientation. The zodiac has evolved into EQUAL divisions of 30 degrees. It used to have different sized "signs".

It just reminds me of a principle of Feng Shui, that determines your sleep patterns based on the orientation of your bed. If the headboard is on the north, you will sleep like the dead. (good for babies and the sick) South, 5 hours, max.(good for partiers) East, sleep will rejuvenate you quickly.(good for working stiffs, like me)
