I personally keep mine trimmed close up top and shaved below. Sure you get a couple of glances in the shower, but the few times guys have made a comment I just tell them that the girl I'm with prefers it this way and I love the extra attention she gives me! | |

Regardless of whether I'm sexually active at the time or not, I still prefer to keep my package trimmed up as often as required. Electric shaver with a #2 attachment, and less than 5 minutes and I'm good to go. Only ever shaved it all off once, and swore to myself that there would never be any power strong enough to make me even consider doing it again. I like to keep it trimmed up, but that's it. I'd rather be told that I'll never get oral performed on me unless I shave, than to actually ever do it again.

Some guys, like me, do respect a woman's "needs". This is why those that shave/wax get no lovin' from me. I respect they're trying to say that men want it, and they can respect that I think that's the most laughable excuse I've ever heard to pass off a fad.

My man has more hair in the area than I would like. I don't expect bare, but would love to do a little grooming. The topic has been broached with him, and I would be more than willing to help, but am new to this.
I don't know what the best way to approach this is. Not so concerned about the area over the pubic bone, which should be easy enough to deal with. I am concerned with how to approach the scrotum, perineum and the base of the penis. The last thing I would want to do is hurt him. (even though I would be more than willing to kiss the boo boo and make it better). Any advise? | |

Posted: 4/7/2009 11:29:20 AM | My default condition is trimmed on top with the boys being clean-shaven. For me it's mostly a hygiene thing. I feel cleaner this way. I also crop down my chest hair with a #3 trimmer every month or two. Thankfully, I don't have any hair on my back - that'd be a bear to get at (excuse the pun).
All that being said, I'm happy to oblige the whims and desires of any woman I'm with. What's the problem? I want, yes even expect, her to shave her legs and armpits as well as keep her pubic hair in check. I'm perfectly willing to do the equivalent.
At times I have let everything grow out, because my girlfriend thought that was more "manly". I felt slightly less hygienic, but mostly I want to be clean for her anyway. So if she prefers hairier, why not?
There was a time when I kept everything, including my chest, shaved clean. That was for a woman who was very orally focused. She always liked to "clean up", but preferred not to get hair in her mouth. And yeah, it took some work and I had to bear some discomfort, but it was worth it. I also got much better, more even suntans! | |

Does it itch less if its trimmed rather than shaved?
I don't want him to deal with the itching of a shaved groin, and trimmed would be an immense improvement. I don't think the trimmed groin will be the issue. My concern is the scrotum and base of the penis.
I have found the hair on the balls, perineum and base of the penis is not something I like having in the way. I would get so much more pleasure out of oral play with him if I didn't have to deal with the hair. I already enjoy pleasuring him orally, I am just looking for a way to make it even better. Getting the hair out of the way will make me all the more enthusiastic, and enthusiasm is all good.
Should I use a personal trimmer on the scrotum and penis? Is it better to leave the hair 1/8 inch long or 1/4 long rather than shaving? Would this result in less itching? I don't want him to deal with unpleasant itching if there is a better way. | |

I would say it definitely itches less if trimmed rather than shaved - everywhere but the scrotum. Maybe it's just me, but that doesn't itch when shaved and never gets razor burn. I'm also much more scared of a trimmer near my balls than a razor. The skin is very loose and thin. It seems like it would be very easy for a fold of skin to accidentally slide between the guard blades. That would be a disaster! 
If someone were going to do it for me, I'd say use a trimmer with a #2 or #3 guard on the pubic region and a scissor on the scrotum and base. Maybe after that you could suggest he use a razor himself. Or if you're very confident, you do it. I don't know if I'd have the balls to let someone else use a razor there - I'd be too afraid I wouldn't have the balls afterward! | |
