Ok, so there always has to be one in the crowd that's different... I guess that's me. I hate them. I'm not concerned about being my age but, dam@ I don't always have to look it. I can tell you if I did have the money for Lazer treatments, Oh heck yes, mine would be gone!!!!

You should do what I did today.
Have them burned off with liquid nitrogen. This stops them from growing into full on, and extremely dangerous, skin cancers.

I'll quite happily ignore the little spot scars in return for a happy, healthy, partner, that I can enjoy life and love with and don't have to nurse through years of sickness and pain.

I say embrace them. They are just the beginning Then come the glasses and the hearing aids then the walking frames then we forget who we are then we put the coffee in the washing machine and forget to feed the cat and it dies because we forgot we owned a cat.

This stops them from growing into full on, and extremely dangerous, skin cancers.
.....Age spots are completely different to moles.....skin cancer? Highly unlikely. They are harmless pigmentation's of the skin caused through yes... aging however are not life threatening.....though they do look like they could kill!

Age gracefully and accept the changes that lay ahead.

I'd say use porcelana.. is that how you spell it?

Actually I'd probably have them checked out by a dermotologist to make sure they are not precancerous

I don't worry about them...but I do wear makeup a bit more than I used to..to even out my skin tone. I don't worry about the ones on my hands, or arms..and I'm not sure those bleaching creams are safe.

Spots of age???

Aging spots don't exist. Those spots on the hands and all over the body for that matter are sun damage. Ask any dermatologist! We see more of them as we get older because the spots/freckles usually become more visible about 30 years after the damage was done. When the skin was damaged, there isn't much we can do about it. Keep an eye on them because that's where melanoma comes from.

when I reached a certain "hormonal" age and spent more time in the sun without a care (mid-40's--like you lol), I noticed a few places and used some skin bleach with mixed results. my sister who was a slave to the sun gods developed ugly spots of pigment on her face and couldn't figure out why

I use a little foundation w/spf daily and avoid the sun when I can, but not fanatically, in other words, I avoid sun bathing.

I do believe it's just another malady that we women are faced with as we age. ...with our hormones as the culprit to blame.

Being pale of skin with reddish hair and freckles, I find they blend in quite well! Also being in the south west of England we get a lot of rain so sun worshipping is out! Wouldn't do it anyway, I just turn a nasty shade of red!

I've got dark hair, dark eyes, and get very dark when I tan. My age spots blend in with the freckles I've had my entire life. I rarely even notice them. They're like my few gray hairs: I've earned every single one of them.

Check out agespots dot net. A lot of good info on all types of skin "spots".

Yes, the first time I noticed the age spot on my face, it bothered me. As does the crepy look of my skin sometimes when I look in the mirror. I am not defined by the spots upon my skin, nor the number on the scale.

I decided a couple of years ago not to color my hair any more; I like the sliver hair; these spots are signs that I have lived a good life. My mother and grandmother have age spots and crepy skin, they are beautiful. I love my age and wouldn't change it.

Women get better with age, we are stronger. We become who we are meant to be, discover wisdom. If we are lucky enough to be on this side of the flower bed, we should embrace life. I have grandchildren who don't care that I have age spots.

Have you seen the one menopause commerical wherein women are wearing just sheets and while the camera pans over them, I cannot help but think how beautiful they are, all different colors, all different types. Just gorgeous!

I've got a couple of age spots around my tummy. Thankfully, they aren't exposed. I've had "labels", which drive me nuts, but I've had those removed. As far as the age spots go - hell, I've earned them

I don't think men care about them, and I figure I've got enought to worry about with things I can help, so I guess I don't fret about it or try and hide. Looking at my hands, I guess I have one on each hand, but they look like they're just freckles so maybe that's why I don't fret about it.

I think you should amputate your whole head or whatever part that is on...I mean really, come on...why all of the superficiality? I am a nurse and I have seen it all...a freaking age spot should not break or make a relationship...if it does...what a shallow individual!

I wouldn't be staying out of the sun I adore even if I become one big age spot. It doesn't matter near as much how I look, compared to how I enjoy life.

You're supposed to get naked with a friend, have them connect the spots with a marker and see what picture it makes. I am not making this up.

xtangent I think they are skin tags... those little fleshy things.... they only bother me if they start growing around a bra line or something.. and then they are gone but they pop up somewhere else...

I have a few "sun spots" on my cheeks... and NO I don't care for them one bit and don't think I did anything wrong to earn them... dang it... eventually I'll grow old gracefully in the meantime I'll use my creams and concealers... and yes what gray hair.. and it's not for anyone but little ol' me...

But I do think about Betty Davis in "Whatever happened to Baby Jane".... that's a scary thought...
