| 'But Men Do It Too...' Posted: 6/14/2008 9:57:37 AM | Okay, ladies, we understand that when we ask a question about some facet of women that we're perplexed or frustrated by, that men often do the same thing. The thing is, this doesn't answer the question that's being asked, and moreover isn't a valid justification for behavior that's being perceived as somehow "wrong" or sub-optimal.
So the question is, why do so many ladies seem to retreat to this statement on the forums here? Whether men are doing the same things we're accusing women of doing is irrelevant; we're not asking about men. We're asking about women. What other men do means zero to us, as we aren't trying to date other men (well, the straight guys aren't, at least). So why is this so frequently an answer women give for a question here? If we ask why women do something, the answer isn't, "Men do it too!", the answer is "This is why..." or at least some other attempted justification for the behavior in question.
