| The Truth About John McCain's Intentions For America Posted: 7/6/2008 5:02:59 PM | McCain presented a healthcare plan that would give families a tax rebate of up to 5,000.00. Will that really help us? Especially those of us that have to pay every year.

McCain's health plan: A threat to employer plans? By KEVIN FREKING and NEDRA PICKLER (Associated Press Writers) From Associated Press July 06, 2008 1:25 PM EST WASHINGTON - There's a great unknown about Sen. John McCain's health plan: How many employers would drop insurance coverage for their workers because of his tax policies?
The Republican presidential nominee-in-waiting has proposed that everyone buying health insurance get a refundable tax credit, $2,500 for individuals and $5,000 for families. At the same time, he would treat employer contributions toward health insurance like income, meaning workers would have to pay income, but not payroll, taxes on it.

| The Truth About John McCain's Intentions For America Posted: 7/6/2008 5:42:26 PM | | Oh, what a jerk! McCain wants to tax health insurance benefits that an employer provides. Yet another Republican ploy to help the rich and rip off the poor and the middle class. For God's sake, please vote for Obama so that this horrible "plan" doesn't come to pass! | |

| The Truth About John McCain's Intentions For America Posted: 7/8/2008 3:24:13 PM | | McCain = Obama and Republicans = Democrats. I wonder if that is sufficient for Americans. I know that is hard for the average person to grasp. Seriously, though, for those who scoff at conspriracies, I feel for you. I really do. Now, go back to your own fantasy world and buy your luxury items and watch your favourite Reality TV shows. G'night. | |

| The Truth About John McCain's Intentions For America Posted: 7/8/2008 8:50:00 PM | The article written by someone trying to promote their book.
The President by himself/herself in the United States does not have the power to declare was, it has to go through congress, democrats control it and Senate is almost even.
Its late and I am tired to go through it all, US cannot Alienate nations in todays Global Economy.. how? Take control of the Internet.. that one was beyond stupid.. There are phone, cable, wireless connections all over the world, even countries like Bangladesh have DNS Root servers, which function as part of the Internet backbone..

| The Truth About John McCain's Intentions For America Posted: 7/9/2008 10:57:49 AM | | It is totally appalling that a presidential candidate would joke about killing Iranians. One of my best friends is from Iran, and believe me, starting war with Iran will not solve the problem of the government there that the majority of Iranians don't even LIKE. Most Iranians are young. Let change come from within. Iran will take care of itself. There's no reason to start a war with the Iranians. | |

| The Truth About John McCain's Intentions For America Posted: 7/9/2008 1:12:09 PM | Yes, I have heard that he made another statement like that the other day. Some are saying it should be ignored. Others state it is his sub-conscience.
I truly believe that is what he feels in his heart and can not wait to be the Commander in Chief to live out his dreams of 'taking over the world'.
If, I kept saying (in a joking way) let us get a bus to take the illegal immigrants across the border and night and bring them back in the morning to do the work, just do not want them in America'. What would you think about me?

| The Truth About John McCain's Intentions For America Posted: 7/9/2008 1:24:04 PM | | I agree with many of you. I do think McCain carries the psychological scars of his years as a POW and that it informs his opinion of international affairs, which is scary. I think the scariest thing about him is that he is malleable, changing his views based on what is politically expedient. He ran against Bush and presented himself as very moderate and very different than Bush. When Bush ran, in order to be politically relevant, he become more of a right winger. Who is to say which is the real McCain, but his recent comments do show him to be too trigger happy and too much of a xenophobe (afraid of those who are different) to be a reliable and smart leader in international affairs. That he sang "bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" is pretty frightening and shows a lack of maturity and wisdom about international affairs. | |

| The Truth About John McCain's Intentions For America Posted: 7/9/2008 1:30:58 PM | Which is exactly why I'm VERY curious about his VP selection. Cheney has been a nightmare of epic proportions.
It doesn't take much imagination to see an elderly man with a temper succumbing to health problems under the kind of stress that being CIC would entail.
Tho the last thing I would wish on McCain is any type of illness....just who will be left guarding the chicken coop should that come to pass?

| The Truth About John McCain's Intentions For America Posted: 7/9/2008 1:42:02 PM | I do believe overall McCain's intentions for America are good..in the best interest of America... I think he says 'outloud' what other politicians are thinking within their own minds.
I just don't believe that McCain wants to go to war..simply over oil or anything less than a real threat to America.
On the tax issue. McCain has the best interests of the average American. A report today shows for absolute accuracy that the top 1% of taxpayers (those making $300,ooo or more) foot 40% of the tax bill for America. This is after all tax 'breaks, etc.'.
Now... get this... the top 50% of American taxpayers... those making $30,000 or over account for 97% of the taxes collected. That's Middle America.
These numbers come from The Wall Street Journal today.
All the Social Programs are being supported by people making just $30 grand or more.
There you have it why we should not be taxed anymore and the concentration should be on Social Services reform to provide for the needy and get the abusers off of it.

You should site these numbers because these numbers don't make sense.
The IRS reports numbers that don't jive. I just calculated that those over 30 K income are paying 75% of the collected taxes and those over 120K are paying 27%
I don't understand how that can be calculated unless you're using that fuzzy math I could never grasp.
It's really hard to believe the WSJ doesn't know how to use a calculator and would not have fact checked the numbers with the IRS before printing those numbers.
and no, It's not that I'm mean spirited, it means I'm calling you on posting incorrect data which I believe is mean spirited. Because you never come back to apologize for posting incorrect information.

| The Truth About John McCain's Intentions For America Posted: 7/9/2008 3:09:44 PM | First of all Mackevin,
Get off my back!.... I did not post incorrect data. It was reported on one of the news stations and the source cited is the Wall Street Journal. It was NOT at all mean spirited on my part as you imply.
Take your issues up with the WSJ.
I have come back to apologize when I post incorrect data. Check out my posting history.
Please get YOUR facts straight.

| The Truth About John McCain's Intentions For America Posted: 7/9/2008 7:15:41 PM | Green Sangha is spot-on!! McCain does not have the maturity to be commander in chief. Joking about killing Iranians and the bomb bomb bomb Iran song are deeply offensive, as well as extremely immature. He is too emotionally unstable to be commander in chief. That pretty much leaves us with Sen. Barack Obama, who does not make light of killing and bombing Iranians.
It is very upsetting to me to hear anyone talk about killing Iranians beause I take it VERY personally. One of my best friends is Iranian, and many of her relatives still live there. Most Iranians today are younger than 30 years old, and giving the Iranians time to get rid of their unwanted government is the best answer. Working with the people to figure out a way to have a better government is the way to go. My friend and her family despises the Iranian government.
John McCain's intentions for Iran are very scary and could trigger World War III. I am worried that he would trigger a nuclear war with his rash reactions and hair trigger temper. If you cherish your life as you know it, vote for OBAMA!!

| The Truth About John McCain's Intentions For America Posted: 7/9/2008 7:22:20 PM | designingwoman, I am worried that McCain has a hard-on for being a Commander in Chief during a serious conflict with visions of glory for himself as a war hero .......that he is bent that way.
If he were elected and turned into a lackluster President, especially where we are forced into a corner by Iraq to withdraw........going at Iran might sound very appealling to him, ratings and otherwise.
Remember, Bush was a lame duck just months after being elected in 2000 and his ratings shot up into the 90th percentile after 911....he's hung onto those coattails ever since.......
One thing I like about Obama is that I just dont see him doing that if his Presidency went into the pits. Although, you never know...............order corned beef or salami, you always get baloney, anyway.
|
| The Truth About John McCain's Intentions For America Posted: 7/9/2008 8:46:28 PM | I personally have nothing against McCain, but I feel he can not wait to Push The Button once he is in charge.
Like an episode of Pinky and the Brain.
He is saying what middle America wants to hear, but can not wait to run up the budget fighting in wars.
