I'll be coming down for the climb and meet up on the weekend. Driving down from Kingaroy.
Will be camping at the Mt Warning holiday park.
Any one want to go in convoy? We could arrange to meet somewhere on the way.
Also seats available if you want a lift.

Posted: 9/2/2008 4:23:06 AM | Hi all, I am sorry to inform you that Gypsy is unable to host or attend this event due to circumstances out of her control.
I myself am also not attending this event as I know how much it meant to gyps to do the climb, therefore I wsh to wait until she is able to acompany myself and some of her other freinds on this adventure.
If you wish to take over this event please contact gypsy through this site.
I do not think there is too much left to do except turn up for the climb.
Good luck to those of you who are doing the climb.

Posted: 9/2/2008 1:28:48 PM | | Hi guys, it's with great sadness that I read that Gyps has had to pull out. Was so looking forward to catching up again. When Gyps is ready to do it again, I'll definately be there with her. I have my 10 year old Son (Matt) who would dearly love to come along. He climbed Mt. Maroon for his birthday at the beginning of this year, a harder climb, so I have absolutely no doubt of his ability to do it. If anything, he'll probably embarrass most of us "Oldies". Does anyone have an issue with this? Also, what time are we looking at meeting on Saturday and should we be trying to organise what each person is going to carry to the top so we don't end up with too much duplication. | |

To all that is still going ahead with the climb I truley hope it is a wonderful experience for you, when you get the top give Cath a wave I know she will be thinking of you all.

Posted: 9/2/2008 3:08:55 PM | It will be all but "3 months to the day" from the creation of this event to the date of the climb.......
I had no idea, 3 months ago what was in store for me 3 months down the track. Life circumstances can change so very quickly, one minute all is fabulous in life and then, literally at the click of a button, life can be thrown into complete turmoil.
Unfortunately, I have been given a serious health scare... not confirmed yet but it appears more than likely that I do have cancer. It would be foolish for me to attempt this climb at this stage due to the fact that the lump is in the lung and their is major infection of the lung at this point in time.
If we were looking at a 5 or even 8 km walk in the sunshine then it would be different but I am not able to subject my lungs to such strenuous exercise in the dampness of the night mountain air.
To my POF friends who are wanting to wait and do the climb with me.... I truly do appreciate where you are coming from, I am so very lucky to be blessed with such good friends... however...... I do not know at this stage if I will ever be able to do that climb... Please God, I am wrong ....
this posting has been a difficult one for me to post....
again, thanks to all those who are there with me, you know exactly who you are..... for those who believe the power of prayer, please pray for me, thanks
I need someone to take over the event for me to help answer questions pple might have re the climb..... who would like to take over for me?

Could all climbers please do circle of white light for gypsy at the top of the mount.....and ask for strength and guidance for her in the months ahead

the climb is still going ahead,( Vandy has taken over as chief Chocky Man) and your Mum and her friends are more than welcome to do it. Most of the people are still doing the climb, only a couple of us are not doing it at this time, but we will with Gypsy when she gets the all clear.
