Pete: We are going to Shell again over the August Bank Holiday, although with it being the summer hols the event will probably extend to longer on either side of the Friday-Sunday with people arriving sooner or leaving later. So hopefully this falls in your holidays booked and we will see you there.
That fits in with my plans just nicely - this will be the last weekend of my 2 weeks so I hope to see you all there next time - unless the winds have ruined yet another tent to join the shell island graveyard !!! | |

Posted: 6/16/2008 1:28:04 PM | Thanks every one once again for making us so welcome. We all went home looking like beleesha beacons with sunburn. My face went back to normal after my Shreks wife moment round about 5pm! We left the campsite at 1.30,,went past it twice by 2.30 got past Bangor about 3.30,,,then broke down. Finally got home by 8pm in a tow truck all the way back to Warrington
Apart from that though it was well worth the effort.

Posted: 6/16/2008 4:11:03 PM | Awww I was gonna go to bed without making any more comments but couldnt resist...the more i look at this post and the photos(more keep adding themselves) and those videos...OMG... Ive been corrupted...Ive seen Tina lay on the wall and she wasnt even drinking...and even Steve was sober!!! and every time I see duncs photos I keep singing what shall we do with the drunken sailor  It was good to hear you snore....
Viks and Lily have some real interesting photos...Im so glad they havent been deleted LOL...(viks-glad you kept the lid on, those pics would have been really borderline!!)
And I thought Id feel uncomfortable at a "sober" meet ....I went home with my magic water..even after trying to tempt lesley for sunday breakfast hahaha...OK I will shut up now...I did have a great time and I would say to anyone who wants to try it...go for it...

Posted: 6/16/2008 4:35:22 PM | Oi ...where's the glamorous breakdown picture ....i wanted that for me bedroom wall .....and a huge thanks to puddles for putting the video together ...it brought it all back ...including the tears rolling down my face and the aching ribs from laughing so much ...all over again
maybe some brave guys would like to join me in a serious amount of gym time and megga practice before the next one ...and have a proper monty ...instead of a short fat one .....i refuse to do a brokeback mountain one ....even if i did wear a pink bandanna with white skulls and a huge hoop earring that gave me soddin whipash ....so i will have to go the red indian route i think .............oooo have i started something now ?

I think ive just laughed at that video of Steve more than I laughed at the actual event, and that takes some doing!
And I just loved the frustration in me bouncing the bed to slide down the dunes until Steve came to my rescue.
This weekend, as with the last Shell one will go down as some of my funniest memories, and im sure August will just add to those, especially the cowboy and indian theme..............get practicing spinning your pistol Steve | |

The videos are hilarious and the pics are great. Your custumes are brilliant and it looks like you had such a laugh. Will have to keep an eye out for the next one as I enjoyed the camping so much last year that im off again in July, think ive got the bug now.

Not sure about bank hol- gets very very full- but you lot being there is a big temptation and i have a couple of other things going on too
