Pornography is nothing but eye candy to a world of disorder and abuse. Do you not at all understand the predicament of these women, or should I say girls, because for the most part they are barely above the age of 18. Unless you are watching "Milfs" who are probably little over the age of 30, except have contracted a consortium of venereal diseases from the low-life scum that they have sex with, you are more than likely watching young women. What message is given to young women when they see themselves in pornography?
My sister once caught me looking at pornography. At the time I was 16 years old, and she was 15. She said to me, that is absolutely disgusting, and abhorrent. To me, it was all the same. A girl here, a girl there. They were nothing but useless meat. The more you look at porn, the less you think of women. The coinciding of sexual assault and pornography is almost undeniable. Women are treated the way they are because men, chauvinistic pigs, put them in videos where they are portrayed as vile cum sucking whores. You're overanalyzing this though my friend. And you're making some assumptions that you won't in a few years once you get a little more worldly. Yeah, I'm sure you think you are quite worldly right now but in about ten years you'll understand what I mean.
Pick your battles. The vast majority of women in porn are there of their own volition. Contrary to what I know is easy to believe in today's culture, they aren't victims, or stupid. Sure some are. Most aren't. They know what they're doing and are allowed to do it. Did you know that women in the porn business make more than the guys as a rule ? Don't start throwing around this nonsense about how degrading it is to women. If it's degrading to women it's just as degrading to men. However, just like you are allowed to they can and have chosen to perform in porn. If you really think it's that bad, don't watch it. Does it corrupt minds ? We'll wait with baited breath for the irrefutable evidence but in the meantime the answer is no. Oddly enough, I used to share your beliefs precisely. In fact, I was the same age as you. I thought that way because I was given the implied message for years that women are all innocent and pure. I subconsciously assumed that since all the women in the world would never stoop to something so low, they must have been forced into the porn business. How naive of me. Guess what ? Women like sex too! And some even enjoy it more when they get paid for it! Hell, many think it's glamorous to be the star of a porn film. And know why women watch it? For the same reason men do. Who knew eh?
You're young and still green whether you realize it or not. You've had certain messages drilled into your head for oh, about twelve or thirteen years now. Although I'm sure you don't realize it (but will argue with me vehemently that I am wrong on that point) you still see things in black and white. You scream "politically correct brainwashing" with your post. You still haven't accepted that alot of what you were taught is hogwash and what's more, in twenty years the same people who drilled it into your head will be doing their best to convince the next generation that the opposite is true. You'll see. That's how it always goes. Do people who watch women in porn automatically think all women are pieces of meat ? In ten years answer that question for me and then see if it's the same one you would like to give me today.
You're mantra needs to be live and let live as long as nobody is getting hurt. If you think that everybody in the porn business is getting hurt or hurting somebody else there is no shortage of evidence to debunk that myth for you. Believe it or not, as seedy as you may think it is, it's a regulated industry and actually does cater to a market that is obviously far larger than you would like to believe. Billions my friend, billions of dollars.
If you're statement was correct we'd all be running around raping each other. That's not the case.
Lastly, nobody is telling you to like porn. If you don't, that's just fine. However, kindly don't tell me that I'm a shallow thinker. I'll put you to shame any day of the week on that one kiddo. | |
