Yeah Serna sucked on Friday. Yeah he should totally have made those 3 FG's from, what?....30-35 yards out. :-| And as much as I can't stand Westwood, for those moments, I would have preferred to see him there because he would have made at least one of them. LOL It is getting later in the season after all, he would have been putting in more of an effort to keep his job for next season... *snicker*
It's obvious DTC is a fan, too bad I don't have a half hour to read his posts. Then again, he repeats most of them anyway, so if you've read one, you've pretty much read them all.
My friend and I are going to try and get to one more game this year. This is the time of year I love. Bundled up, scarves, mitts, men in tights and cold beer. Does a girl get any happier? I think NOT!  | |

You mean, like in 2001, when Troy "wide left" Westwood and his pathetic excuse for a kicking foot cost the Bombers the Grey Cup with all of his misses?
Hey, no question DTC is a fan.......I'm just still not sure what his feelings are about Doug Berry........he's got to be clearer.
But at least, in his whacky, overly verbose, un-spell checked way, he's been consistent in his cheering for the Bombers.........3 wins in a row, and all of a sudden there ain't much room left on the ol' bandwagon.
And seriously, the blame for the kicker falls on Taman. He's had months now to find a competent kicker.........are you telling me that in that time, he couldn't have found some NFL reject that's at least capable of hitting the odd 30 yarder? However, it is going to be one heck of a heated battle, in the next game in Edmonton.
Agustin Barrenechea, got off extremely lightly with what, only a slap on the wrist fine?????????? The guy should of been ejected PERMANANTLT out of the game and not allowed, to play for the rest of the season.
I know football is a hitting game, however, if you are going to pull something such as a helmut, to helmut hitting stunt, that can be a career ender then, OUT ya GO, NO IF's WHEN's orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, BUT's.

For the meantime, GO GET EM Bombers, TORCH and MELT those DAMN IGLOO PEOPLE"S, IGLOO, to water.

Eskimos defender gets off without suspension after helmet-to-helmet hit on Bombers QB

The reactions in Edmonton and Winnipeg were polar opposites and not unexpected after Eskimos linebacker Agustin Barrenechea escaped with a fine for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Bombers quarterback Kevin Glenn last week.
Somewhat surprising was the fact the CFL admitted last night that it didn't suspend Barrenechea because it felt it would be overturned on appeal, based on precedent.
A perfect example of precedent thwarting the CFL's suspension attempts in the past occurred last summer, when the league tried to ban Edmonton's A.J. Gass for one game after he threw an opponent's helmet. He won on appeal because previous helmet-tossing incidents resulted only in fines.
"We have a system in place that needs to be overhauled," CFL chief operating officer Michael Copeland said. "It's a system that prevents issuing penalties of a more substantial nature in incidents we think it's justified.
"... With respect to similar hits (like the one on Glenn), we have established a standard that is a fine rather than a suspension."
The problem for the CFL is the current collective bargaining agreement with the CFL Players' Association doesn't expire until a few days before the start of the 2010 season.
"We have no ability to change the standard at this point," Copeland said. "We can only change the standard with the agreement and support of the CFLPA. We've not yet been able to come to an agreement."
Commissioner Mark Cohon fined six players yesterday, including Barrenechea, for their actions during or after Friday's game, a 30-23 Bomber win. Winnipeg's Romby Bryant and Dominic Picard were fined after getting ejected for rough play, while Cam Hall was pinched for post-game comments about the officiating.
The other Edmonton players fined were Dario Romero for unsportsmanlike conduct and Jason Goss, who was also tossed, for rough play.
Sources say Barrenechea was fined $1,000, while the other five were slapped with penalties of lesser amounts.
No suspensions mean the aforementioned players will all be in the lineup Saturday night at Commonwealth Stadium when the Bombers (5-8) meet the Eskimos (7-6) in what could be a heated rematch.
Barrenechea drilled his helmet into the left side of Glenn's head just after he released a pass in the final two minutes of Friday's game. He was given a 15-yard penalty for roughing the passer but was not ejected.
Glenn suffered jaw pain and wooziness as a result of the hit, but he is expected to start on Saturday night.
Glenn refused to speak with the media yesterday, but, in a positive sign for the Blue and Gold, he ran sprints with his teammates yesterday morning. He went on teammate Doug Brown's radio show last night and said he has "no comment" and "no opinion" on Barrenechea's fine.
Glenn did say, however, that he was happy some of his teammates came to his defence.
Eskimos head coach Danny Maciocia told Sun Media he was "very respectful" of Cohon's decision, while the Bombers were certainly not happy, judging by the passive-aggressive tone of their only official comment on the matter.
"The league has a responsibility and an obligation to protect the players of our game. The type of incident that occurred -- blatant, helmet-to-helmet contact, which can lead to career-ending injuries for our star athletes -- has no place on the field," president and CEO Lyle Bauer said in a press release.
"... We truly hope the incident from Friday night involving a blatant helmet-to-helmet blow does not occur in future weeks in the Canadian Football League because of the precedent that was set today."
What also gets me, about this is, this:

Now before, however, it sounds like I am brushing off the Northern peoples, you should be aware that they are Eaters of Raw Flesh! If our Bombers were to strafe that area they might come back with the odd arm or leg missing. Besides we all now what could happen to their noses!!.(for the uneducated, Eskimos kiss by rubbing noses....I can't quite be sure but I think they go to 2nd base and further pretty much the way the rest of us do.....except for the icicles hangin from ...Nether regions!!

The Canadian Football League has taken aim at cheap shots, promising to come down harder on players who commit them.
The league today announced that players who commit certain flagrant fouls will be subject to automatic suspensions, usually one game in duration.
The crackdown, coming without the approval of the CFL Players Association, comes after a controversial hit by Edmonton linebacker Agustin Barrenechea on Winnipeg quarterback Kevin Glenn, last Friday.
*I say about FRIGGIN, HIGH - TIME, IDIOTS.*
Barrenechea was flagged and fined $1,000 for the helmet-to-helmet shot, but not suspended.
*And I say, that I hope that his FROZEN - BRAIN, does NOT, EVER FORGET - IT.*
League officials subsequently acknowledged to the Sun they didn’t feel a suspension would stick, based on the fact previous suspensions were overturned on appeal.
*I say B U L L - S H I T, it wouldn't of, B A S T A R D S*.
Since last season, when two suspensions were overturned, the CFL has tried to revamp the appeal process, but hasn’t been able to get the players union on board.
The league is now making the change unilaterally, hoping arbitrators in future appeals see the new edict as fair warning to the players.

And I think that is very pleasant that the CFL has made alot noise about what they might have done to Baron-eats-Chia Pets but couldn't because of the Players Union...but I think all it is is NOISE!!

Got to win, ALL of the remaining games, and finish the season on a WINNING note, before entering the playoffs. And keep that WINNING streak going, right through the playoffs, and right ot and through the Grey Cup.

Chicky's right though! My jokes are $h!ddie!! I once told a "knock knock" joke that permeated everyone's clothes in the room it was so stinky! On another occassion I told a joke that even an Aloutta fan got! How sick can that be!! I am such a sick dude that even the Bride of Chucky left him for me!......she wasn't too bad in bed, but was defintely a "biter". | |
