| The Moon Posted: 4/25/2009 6:36:42 AM | I'd forgotten you had this thread, Autumn....
I'll be moving my moon stuff over here, I have to find the moon poems mixed in with all the others...
yellow moon
tonight there hangs a yellow moon swollen low in a clear night sky luring pagan ripened strangeness revealing things to horrify it stares us back with gelid eye

| The Moon Posted: 4/25/2009 11:29:04 AM | Brizo you are a sweetheart. I love that poem. I was kind of jealous you had a yellow moon though and mine is MIA.
Fishy your poem reminds me of the Huron Carol which is my favourite.
Grizz that poem sings. I'm not usually into rhyme but I love the flow.
Thank you | |

| The Moon Posted: 4/25/2009 1:50:23 PM | I don't know, Autumn....this moon kind of scared me, that's why the poem has such an ominous tone...it was super bright, and just strange....not the familiar moon I love....
here's one from a few years ago...

|
| The Moon Posted: 4/26/2009 7:17:01 PM | I saw the moon tonight It almost looked eclipsed that sliver line of orange slim as the smiley face smile
I saw the moon tonight but I had forgotten until this thread made me think
I'm glad for a moment not to take the moon for granted
This I do only for my own sake. Amen

| The Moon Posted: 4/28/2009 8:08:00 PM | As the great spirit awakens the full moon, I see reflexions of silver light flashing the lagoon.. Cooling wind of summer fullness.. Waves pointing up the white silverish clouds.. Sooths the silence of my soul.. No noise out there... Just the wind singing through palm trees.. Mirror ocean talking back at the moon Let there be peace in this silvery night.. I hear a crying wolf... See his silouette in the shadow.. Maybe he's smiling to the great spirit.. Cry of lonelyness or soul talking.. Mysteries of a full moon.. But oh ever so beautiful....

| The Moon Posted: 4/28/2009 8:28:26 PM | Dancing moons glow Stars all but twinkle a smile clouds shift array of sight Soft as the moon, gentle as the stars Clouds dance to beats Her birth created both heaven and earth Her eyes as electic as the sun Her warmth of inner peace recreating a being Stone Cold Withinthe melting pot life took her by suprise Every whisper became an emotion Everythought an Uncontroled Dance Dance
Dance to the beat of your heart
He never felt the beat till the day he lost his pulse

| The Moon Posted: 5/3/2009 10:26:32 AM | Welcome Brizo, Tuktawa, Rose, Bic, WeAre1, Rebel 51 and Shudden. All very fine poems about the moon and thank you for keeping us all reading moon poetry.
Last night he stayed up until the wee hours Of the mourn With telescope and laptop The air was tangy and crisp With the lingering scent of Magnolias and earth His target was the moon And it showed up starkly on the screen Every crater and mountain All of mankind’s dreams Of uncovering the mysteries Photography and astronomy Make a great mix
But I shall use just a regular camera The soft clouds and golden aura To capture the romance and the painting I will leave the technical stuff to the techies And sit on my bench and gaze longingly up At my tide changing dreamer muse As he scraps the sky And lights minds on fire.

| The Moon Posted: 5/4/2009 10:28:19 PM | Moon shadows
As I walk down memory lane.. My grandfather talks to me.. If no full moon then there is no talk.. But why.. Through the full moon .. I hear his voice calling.. Oh grandfather how I miss thee.. Together when he was here with me, Sharing wisdom and grandma's pictures.. Only a full moon can inspire my souvenirs.. Mostly in automne when he passed away.. Oh how I miss thee grandfather.. His wisdom passed down to me has grown.. Now is my turn to talk to a child On a full moon.. God speed oh grandfather You they named Grey wolf.. Reason more to a full moon..

I LOVE you dad,I miss your silent wisdom :)
|
| The Moon Posted: 5/9/2009 3:43:26 PM | it's reflection on still water, keeps it shining bright
it steals me away, like some silent thief
in my silent reverie it wakes me in the night
beautiful enough to make one cry ,with unabashed relief
to touch it be like holding on to heaven
silent in it's wisdom, high above it all
like some shimmering jewel
maybe like a fool I cannot resist it's call

| The Moon Posted: 5/10/2009 1:11:33 PM | If I can touch souls Shudden then I am enriched..
Days of clear skys A full moon never lies.. Let our ancestors speak.. To our souls not to be weak.. Capture the moment of wisdom Of ancestors talking from the tomb. To continue thier eternity As we are familly..

| The Moon Posted: 5/10/2009 6:04:10 PM | loopy
as starlight is cast and moonlight's low slung I spin in a dance with wildness outflung lupine and feral in silvery light I am in peril of lifting in flight diving and swooping exulting in whoops I'm moon mad and night glad and taking large scoops with both of the dippers dripping stars on daytrippers and nincompoops

| The Moon Posted: 5/10/2009 9:22:30 PM | Brizo loopy is good and it keeps us sane *grin* That's a fun poem. Shudden I lost my Dad many years ago now as well as a few other close family members and it isn't easy. Just remember them with the joy they brought into your life and what they taught to us to make us real. Rebel I love the relationship you have with nature and especially your moon stories. Fishy I didn't know that some guys get that sentimental - it's refreshing. Full moon has passed now again but we had rain so no telescope out to grab some new pictures. My David is always trying to get the close - ups of the craters and the defined edges and it is amazing to see just how close you can get to the moon - see the mountains. But I am trying to get that romantic pictures with the clouds moving accross - more of a romantic when it comes to the moon and keep it mysterious and ethereal. Thank you all for adding to my moon collection *grin* | |

| The Moon Posted: 5/11/2009 8:34:51 PM | Imagine
As I walk within trees sleeping, The calm of a cool nite, Runs through my soul whispering.. My eyes look up to the moon, Voices soothing the suffering memories.. Silence of the wind caressing my cheeks.. Drying the tears from my eyes. From the mountain top I see.. Clouds dancing to the moon.. I see familair shadows.. My grandparents dansing spirits.. Oh how I would like to dance.. In harmony with my heart and soul..
|
| The Moon Posted: 5/11/2009 9:42:33 PM | Perhaps you already do dance in harmony with your heart and soul Rebel?
My sun is in Cancer, my moon in Gemini And so to see if there is any correlation Between the astrology chart And the actual charting of the planets At my time of my birth We did an experiment And compared the two
By today’s technology And precise calculations My sun was in Gemini and my moon in Taurus? Has the sky moved so far a field Or is Astrology based on its own fictional drawings Of the sky?
It doesn’t really matter I will always be who I am A moonchild sailing happily across the universe Sitting quietly outside beneath the moon Gathering a hidden light To weave my own magic.

| The Moon Posted: 5/11/2009 9:58:46 PM | I think he does ! lol....
My child of Libra indecisive and indulgent Hardly ever knows her moment... too busy pleasing others! Often feels depleted cause her soul is defeated! Gives too much and ... never wants too much Sometimes feels abandoned too busy fixing things for others! Only wants the real... and the up and up.... Once in awhile her soul finds another ...same as her! So then it is a good day... in Wonderland... Mama smiles ... she waves her hand! :) All is good in Wonderland! :)
