| 22nd-25th August - Camping - Shell Island - Celebrating 5 Years Of POF Posted: 7/4/2008 1:48:41 AM | Well ive been thinking that, even though there are no rules or organisation on our camping meets, just to ensure we have just a certain amount of organisation and optimum fun we need to delegate certain responsibilities. So my train of thought was:
Viky: Well ive already said that i will organise some kind of activities for the kids, painting, tent with games in, rounders etc, so any queries anyone has over kids coming or suggested activities etc or anything you can think of bringing or doing to keep our darlings amused give me a shout. (i must reiterate IM NOT A BABY SITTER, WILL JUST BE MAKING SUGGESTIONS ETC FOR THE KIDS TO GET ON WITH IT lol)
Princess Fiona: As Sherree lives in the area she has fab knowledge of the surroundings and of shell itself, so any queries ask her.
Addy: Well nearer the time Addy is going to organise food lists, ie. what we can all bring for the mass meals on the Sat night for the Wild West theme and then for the beach party/picnic on the Sunday.
Duncs: Well hes not a bad camper, so any new people with worries about equiptment, ask Duncs and if he cant answer you then he will find out or pass your querie on
Lily: Noodles and just being Lily of course!
Steve: Well Steve im thinking that as you are so excitable about the whole Wild West theme well you should be in charge of the "entertainment" and activities for the Wild West theme on the Sat night. Keep it clean Steve, we have tiddlers in the pond remember
So does anyone fancy taking on the task of the beach party/bbq/picnic on the Sunday daytime with a possible Hawiian theme?????? We obviously need to keep costs down so nothing over the top, just a little bit or organisation.
Im planning to get the kids to make flags and banners etc for the Wild West thing on the Saturday to keep them amused on the Friday, and we can get them to make some stuff for the beach party too, ermmmm are palm trees a bit too adventurous? Oooo you can buy blow up ones though cant you.
THERE ARE NO RULES WHATSOEVER TO OUR CAMPS THESE SUGGESTIONS ARE JUST TO HELP US HAVE AS MUCH FUN AS POSS WITH A HINT OF ORGANISATION.
No one has to feel they need to do anything apart from just turn up.

| 22nd-25th August - Camping - Shell Island - Celebrating 5 Years Of POF Posted: 7/8/2008 2:08:00 PM | Hi Tracy, Don't know if you can book for this one, give them a ring and ask? I'm sure ~Jus~ Her~ will have some marvellous way of making us visible ( wearing large pink fleece blanket (my) pink hat hiding behind a hedge) as usual, dunes again maybe, bit far to shops, showers, but you can't have everything!!!! | |

| 22nd-25th August - Camping - Shell Island - Celebrating 5 Years Of POF Posted: 7/8/2008 3:26:26 PM | I dont actually think you can book for this weekend, it was only the Party weekend that could be booked, I might be wrong, so if there is any change in the rule please put a post on here.
I think im going down on the Thursday, may as well, im off work and its the summer hols...........so Tracey you have no excuse not to come earlier with me either
I think with it being a busy weekend it will just be a case of when we get there see where we can get that has a big space to be honest. The dunes was a beautiful place to camp, but yes quite far from the shops etc, and a pain when we wanted to go for a drink, so maybe somewhere half way????? Im hoping that there will be a few who can get down on the Thursday so we can pitch in the same place but spread out a bit so we can take up a bit of space and then then everyone can pitch inbetween when they arrive. Ive never been on the August bank hol so hoping that we will be ok, but if anyone can get the friday off then it would be better to arrive on the Thursday (plus I will be scared if no one else is there lol) or early Friday wherever poss.
Hmmmmm im having a think about how we can identify ourselves. The first time was yellow balloons tied to tents, the second time was Tina gazeebo, my red feather boa, that I lost half way round the site, and yes me prancing round looking for strays in my pink blanket.................Keith what did happen to my pink hat by the way???? Dont worry ive got a nice lime green one for you this time, top up the tan though, lime green really isnt an easy colour to wear
