| 22nd-25th August - Camping - Shell Island - Celebrating 5 Years Of POF Posted: 7/9/2008 9:17:22 AM | No shell dont take bookings,
best advise is to get there early, it may be worth arranging with another who will be on early to book your car with them if you think your going to be a very late arriver.
I can arrive when ever i think, early friday morning was my latest in the time plan, traffic will be a nighmare for the whole 10 miles..., and yes, will have Alex's tent to spread out some space again.

| 22nd-25th August - Camping - Shell Island - Celebrating 5 Years Of POF Posted: 7/16/2008 8:58:32 AM | Volunteer?
I want it officially noted that jeejay (!) did NOT volunteer - she was cajoled, bribed , threatened and finally resistance was worn down by persistant pleading!!!
mm... so ... don't have a clue what i have volunteered for either - so if anyone has any suggestions (keep it clean folks! - children present!!!) please get in touch
just to rub it in btw - i fly back from majorca on the thursday, relaxed , fit and tanned i hope!! - drive home , pack the car and set off again friday morning with son in tow (at last count he was still in!) so I doubt whether I will get there much before 3pm! save me a place!!!!

| 22nd-25th August - Camping - Shell Island - Celebrating 5 Years Of POF Posted: 7/17/2008 10:02:37 AM | Just signed up… Another virgin camper I’m afraid with a brand new tent from Halfords as they have them half price.
Looking though all of the thread.. We don’t need to book but try and get there early. Wild West theme night – Saturday Hawaiian beach party - Sunday
Also someone said about how will we all identity ourselves. Yellow balloons were suggested… How about Hawaiian/Luau balloons?? EBay and for the price of a pint http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HAWAIIAN-LUAU-THEMED-BUTTERFLY-FISH-FOIL-BALLOON_W0QQitemZ380044545511QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item380044545511

| 22nd-25th August - Camping - Shell Island - Celebrating 5 Years Of POF Posted: 7/17/2008 1:32:24 PM | Hiya Cheeky, Welcome aboard, the events entetainment isn't compulsory, if you wish to just spectate from a distance and enjoy the wonderful picturesque surroundings that's fine. We only set ourselves up to overcome our natural shyness, we only want people to enjoy themselves, and hopefully make new friends. In answer to your quetion about folowing the forums, two ways i've found, at the top of your screen you should find; track this thread, click on it, then when you want to return click on tracked threads, or click on "my forums", think it's something like that! | |

| 22nd-25th August - Camping - Shell Island - Celebrating 5 Years Of POF Posted: 7/17/2008 2:04:30 PM | Hi arkid. Spectate from a distance! Oh no.. I’ve just been telling my daughter, Hawaiian/Luau, she’s over the moon. And can she bring a friend.. I know where our tents will be.. And I really don’t want to be moving round all day.. I’ll be looking for ~just~me~’s yellow balloon or gazebo or red feather boa. So if you see a vintage, overloaded, Volvo with a BIG fish balloon, please send up a flare. Pity we can’t get the camp site to set aside an area for us.. Anyone asked them??
Did anyone suggest an area? I can get an aerial picture of the site if it’s any good.. Put an “X” marks the spot.
Thank you for the “attaching a forum to your profile” I failed again..

| 22nd-25th August - Camping - Shell Island - Celebrating 5 Years Of POF Posted: 7/18/2008 12:54:05 PM | ermmm no mention of flares please!!!!!!
Cheeky, the pitches cant be booked im afraid, even for us lot
But dont worry, nearer the time we will all make sure you all have the phone number of at least one host or the one arriving first.
The first camp we did we pitched quite close to the bar and shops etc, the second time we pitched right down the other end by the Dunes, a beautiful spot but miles away so thinking we will pitch either somewhere slightly closer or back down that way, but still in our own little spot, we will just have to see.
Unfortunately as this is August we will just have to go for the biggest empty space we can get. A few are arriving early and quite a few more arriving on the Thursday, so by Thursday we will be able to pick a spot and those of us who are there can just spread out to stop others pitching nearby, then as our lot arrive we can pitch inbetween those already there.
But dont fret we will all find each other and will all be together, and really as long as we we are all together it wont matter where we pitch, it will be fun anyway. But yes, hoping to get a nice spot.
PS the feather boa looks like Sylvester got it now!!!!

I think what we will do is feed ourselves on the Friday as all arriving different times and settling in etc, then all bring something for the Wildwest theme on the Saturday (Addy will be doing that list), then for the Beach Party, well as we will have been there a while I think it will be best if we do a shopping list on the Sunday, all throw money in per person (just a couple of quid) then we can have a volunteer go to the shops and get fresh meat, bread, salad etc for the beach party.
Jaygee and Cheeky Chappy are doing the "organisation/entertainment/activities" for the beach party, so any suggestions send them a message.
Steve still on the Wildwest theme.
And me still cheif kids redcoat..............dont know why, I cant stand rugrats lmao, just kidding.
So any suggestions for the above things contact the relevent people

DOH !!! I've just spent 10 minutes looking for a new sign. I think Ive lost my head up my hawaiian grass skirt. Talking of which - does one wear it in scots fashion ?
|
| 22nd-25th August - Camping - Shell Island - Celebrating 5 Years Of POF Posted: 7/19/2008 12:45:32 PM | LOL
oh dear PeteUpNorth............no hun I said the new "sign ups" not "signs up"
A grass skirt scottish fashion eh? Well that really depends on the wind (weather wise) and the bottle of you guys, im presuming you are referring to the guys wearing them that way and not the girls, you being gentleman and all.
So has everyone been getting their costumes then? Must stress not compulsory, some of us just enjoy the opportunity to be daft, but those who dont fancy it are free to just laugh at us

Hey Prinny Fi, The entertainment for kids, does it include watching big brother, and changing toddlers nappies, thats what my "little one" will be doing, Grandad may get to play with someone of his own mental age for a change though!! Love to see you, I'll be there on the 2nd. See you in the pub, or hit me on the head, as i usually don't recognise people!!
Oh like i knew! nah, the entertainment is for like 0-14 year olds playing together! I think your "little one" will tire of them very quickly....
Vik, are the kids dressing up too?
*makes note to pull her finger out to get her own and Alex's costume sorted*
