The tens of thousands killed by Saddam pale in comparrison to the Hundreds of thousands that have perished since we invaded.

History will NOT be kind to the Bush regime in this matter! The jingoistic diatribe that idiots like Rush, Billo and Hannity write is not history. The works that will be used as historical reference will be Mclellan's, Dean's, Woodward's and expecially Richard Clarke's.

Richard Clarke served the White House for 30 years, regardless of party.

The Bush regime has been a disaster both figuratively and literally.

"The Bush regime has been a disaster both figuratively and literally. "

That sir, is your opinion, of which you are fully entitled to. I however, and many others tend to disagree with you. My father (who fought proudly in Vietnam) tends to think the G.W. Bush has been one of the best presidents in his lifetime. I don't regret my votes for him in the least. Evidentally, when he ran the second time the majority didn't regret theirs either since they voted for him again and he won his second term.
His selection of judges and the way he has prosecuted the war on terror the last eight years are enough to justify my votes for him.

Fortunately, for you and others that agree with you Bush is not running this time and it will be time to move on and find someone else to hate - that will probably be McCain. You sound very confident that Obama will win but please don't forget that everybody doesn't agree with your political views.

OP, ya know I started a thread very similar to this one a week or so ago.

One of the posters wrote that "polls arent accurate because they are based solely on the voice of those who choose to participate...Not only that, she had the nerve to say that polls were useless! Da noev of some folks!
Natuarlly, I made an ungodly pfft-ing sound, made a mental note to "not like her anymore" (not the finest of my moments) and went to prove her wrong.
She wasnt.
So I dropped the idea that Mccain was leading, in this way or that.

My dad, who is a Viet Nam Vet, as well as a life long Republican, is so disillusioned by the Bush regime, that he may even vote for Obama.

The Supreme COurt is suppose to be the most sacred position in our nation. Sadly, they have allowed party affiliation to affect their votes.

5-4 against State's Rights in Al Gore v. The State of Florida.
5-4 for Hebeas Corpus, how could this NOT be 9-0?

You believe me to be a radical, that is because you are radical. I grew up a Republican, a byproduct of my dad's political philosophy. However, upon becoming well educated, my political view shifted dramatically. As I learned how things work, my views shifted to the left dramatically.

I don't hate McCain. I admire his service to our nation. However, when he turned his back on American Values by condoning Torture, he lost ALL of my respect. His pandering to the zealots on the right have only further decreased any moral reserves he may have possessed.

I still admire a few conservatives, but their numbers are dwindling. Barry Goldwater, Ike and Adm James Stockdale were men of honor and integrity. The Bush regime is EXACTLY who Ike was warning us about in his farewell address.

....i'm hearing a lot of that too ex, that and republicans who are saying they aren't even going to vote.... i'm also hearing more about McSame pulling out because the GOP hierarchy knows he's screwed. since i don't have tv i also am catching word that he looks like crap from the pressure... if i was the gop big dogs i would really be looking at benching this guy or at least put someone fresh in as VP because he's just not going to make it....

....hell, i was a republican until the straw that broke the camels back of Bush 1 and his dirty war. by then i was starting to really put things together as far as where the money was going.....it is really that simple...follow the money.....

You are close to my dad. . . He lives in Great Falls.

I heard this morning that polls show Obama doing very well in the west, including New Mexico and Montana. He is close in AZ, though, we have a very bad Sec of State!

Telling us that bush protected from terror is an oxymoron. He had to keep lying about the terror to get you to believe there was that much terror and the terrifying part about it was there was a lot of dumb scared people that took in the deception hook, line and sinker.
Those that believe in this BS about signing statements and redefining the laws they are supposed to follow don't know their brains have been washed.

I still don't get how he gets a free pass for allowing the Terrorists to attack on 9/11. Republican leadership must mean passing the buck??? Where's Harry Truman when you need him?

I voted for McCain in the primary in 2000, because he had a strong record of working with Democrats in congress - particularly John Kerry - for accomplishing sensible, bi-partisan legislation. In the last two years, however, he has become God's gift for unilateral solution of all the world's problems. I don't recognize him any more.

BUT, folks, I feel that Obama is the more likely GW Bush look alike. His message of hope without substance strikes the same chord of familiarity that compassionate conservatism did in 2000. He has proven to be all about fund-raising.

Oddly enough, Ralph Nader, seems to me to for the first time starts to sound like the most reality-based statesman. Ugh, I can't believe I stated that.

By the way, may I encourage us all NOT to vote against GW Bush in November. He isn't running, and one only lengthens the legacy by going from one extreme to the other. I still view the Republican party as exemplified by Vin Weber, Warren Rudman, and John McCain of 15 years ago as visionary. At any point that Republicans return to fiscally-responsible, technology-driven, and world-integrated functionality that was the core of what was good in the first three years of the Nixon presidency, count me in. Unfortunately, until then I identify with the Party of Hedonists more. Ugh!

I, for one, worry about having a lead this early in the game because the only way to go from here is down. People like the underdog and are more willing to pay attention to them. When they listen to some one, they feel like they know them.
Obama needs to keep his message based on his plan for America and not let any of his cronies 'f' up his chances by slipping something stupid out of their mouth. I am sort of banking on the idea that McCain will slip something stupid out of his mouth before the elections.

Hurry up with the debates already!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you referring to Bill Clinton who took mess of Osama during his entire term as Commander in Chief and left this threat for G.W. Bush to deal with? Talking about passing the buck!!!!

Also, to the ones who are talking about that dads being disillusioned with the republican party - my mother and I have had a lot of political debates over the years and to my knowledge we have never voted for the same person for president. However, this year she is leaning toward McCain because she does not feel that Obama is qualified to be president. So I think it occurs on both sides.

Most republicans are disillusioned (sp?) with the party because of the bloating of the government under President Bush and if anything he was not conservative enough and didn't hold the line on spending. I think McCain would probably do a better job of that.

I will give you credit for an awesome split in the doorway there - but your knowledge of the threat of terrorism is woefully naive. Don't you read or listen to the news? Are you denying that the threat of terrorism is real?

I was thinking about this the other day - if the views of some were reality, the world would be a nicer place. If somehow we ignored terrorism or pretended that N. Korea and Iran were not a threat to our freedoms and liberty. If we could just be nice to everybody and the all our enemies would dissapear - the world would be a better place. Unfortunately, this is not reality, I wish it were, I really do. I wish the world were on big peaceful place and we could all live peacefully and get along like brothers and sisters. But wishing won't make it so.

If it only it were that easy. Threats to our safety personally and as a nation will not disappear just because we ignore them or pretend they don't exist. I'm glad they're are professionals out there protecting us.

I wonder if we took all the police off three streets, closed all the prisons, courts and jails if the criminals would go away too?

....easy is being fearful and hateful....loving your enemy (and ex's) is the real work...if you think walking any kind of talk that involves tolerance and love is all that easy you should have a little talk with folks like Jesus and Ghandi.....oh but you can't because they were killed for stepping outside the bounds of the human condition and rising above....

No I was talking about BUSH (Dubya) who was commander in chief (In theory) for 7 1/2 months prior to 9/11.

Only an idiot would believe Bill Clinton was at fault!

The first attack on the WTC happened a few weeks into the CLinton Administration, they were caught, tried, convicted and are serving their sentances.

Bush was asleep at the wheel and cost America 3,000 lives, which is far more important than the billions in damages.

Bush was to blame for being INCOMPETENT and letting 9/11 happen on his watch!

For your information; Democracy is more imoportant to me than Victory.

Then move to Candida. The USA isn't a Democracy.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation, under God indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.

PS:
It's spelled "important"

Actually, it is a Representative Republic, or at least it use to be.

I would say let the NeoKKKons move to Canada, but I like Canadians too much to wish that on them. It is too cold for me to move there, so I will just continue to live here, stay warm and fight against the NeoKKons any way I can.

Thanks for the spell check, . . . I never said I was perfect, just close.

Candida is a yeast infection of the skin or vagina.
