First sorry to read about the broken heart..maybe you will meet someone NEW there, or least have alot of fun with us...
My vote is Friday your on your own, I guess this would make me # 2 vote, lunch sounds great, than chip in for pizza to.., just my opinion..

Posted: 7/21/2008 9:42:53 AM | Some of us went up onSunday just to take a look. There are 20 campsites, 5 on the main road and the rest you have to hike to. There is no water, nor electricity so bring containers for water. We did find one faucet you can fill things up with. The man at the gate said to get there early and he even said to come on Thursday night.

As for the food. I would suggest everyone fend for themselves. You can always get together when you get their and cook out together and share what you have. Maybe set up an area for those who want to participate in the sharing and cooking. | |

and there is no boat ramp available, I will have my jetski, so I'm almost temped to camp across the lake at Doll Mountain and maybe even sneak up on Sneeks in the middle of the night and unplug his fans   We could ride my jetski back and forth.
But then again, I remember how frustrating it was last year with people wanting to show up to party and not camp and also wanting to change my plans, so Paul if you object to this, I understand.

Thanks CW, it's his loss!! lol At least I can have fun this wkd without being tied down to someone. LOL I know, I know, not much sleep but with what lil' I got this wkd, I'm hoping, but I've got all week to catch up lol
Oh, also, the gates close at 10pm, so for those of you coming in late, be sure to arrive before 10pm, they won't open them until 9am. | |

Posted: 7/21/2008 12:31:38 PM | No there is no boat ramp. The way the sites go is 10 on the main drive and 10 on the group site it holds a lot more than 40 tents. The food I asked for Ideas in the beginning. I didn't want to go through what happened to you Hemigrl last year. The KFC sounds good and there is a Wal-Mart up 136. The gates close at 9pm and open at 9am yes it is roughing it but if we have the whole camp ground we don't have to worry about people complaining about the noise. Which we had at the campout last year. If you go on Thursday you will have to pay the full price for the campsite if you go on Friday its 14.00 for the weekend. Its your choice I was just trying to make it cheaper on everyone. The whole thing was about having fun and meeting people. There are other campgrounds on the lake some with power this campground was one I knew we could have to ourselves.

Lets see..arrive Friday afternoon, set up tent, hide cooler from pizzadoughboy, start drinking and party.. Go to sleep, YA right... Have breakfast next morning, than hit the Lake, if haven't done so Friday, after getting wore out on wave runner and swimming, eat lunch, than maybe water war, feel sorry for loser's and than back to Lake.. Than Supper and who knows when we quit laughing and having fun...try to sneak off and get a few hours sleep. Ya right again no such luck, eat breakfast of what's left in cooler, wonder how pizzadoughboy got in cooler and drank all my beer..pack up and take my sun burned and wore out body back to Tn, at about noon Sunday..

Posted: 7/22/2008 12:19:05 PM | Ms. Dana. let's do chat about the meals thing. I will be staying Fri thru Sun, like a mini-vacation before I retire from Delta Thursday the following week! I am going to chill out while nursing whatever sent me to Immediate Care yesterday.....Antibiotics and a stout decongestant is what I walked away with. I'll be a little low key, but I am still coming!!!!!!
The food thing bothers me a little, there needs to be more chit-chat on that one. I'll be happy to combine forces for Sat Lunch and Dinner!!!
Just a thought and I can't wait to get there!!

I have alot going on right now and may not be able to stay more than a day..either way, I hope to meet all of you in person. I am a native Georgia girl that has been living away for many years. Hope I can make some good connections with my home people  .. This will be my first pof get together but probably not my last. I have only met one person from pof and I fell head over hills in love with him but that, I am sad to say, must have been a huge mistake as he is not behaving like the man he portrayed himself to be now.  ..trying to go with the 'his loss' as I know that it is but it hasn't made me feel much better... You'd think a girl would learn. Having said that...don't think I am on the rebound cause this girl doesn't play that game.. but I do like to have fun. I love the outdoors, fishing, swimming, campfires and MUSIC ..oh which reminds me as to why I started writing this to begin with..I am SO sure there are some of you that are musically inclined. Repeat after me, 'have instrument, will travel' :-D .. anybody that can play a guitar, bongos, tambourine..you could bring em and share your talent..   .. Suppose if I am going to get to  , I better get a license for Georgia.
Well.. Wooooo Hoooooo! I plan to have fun even if I am just sitting on a raft with cervesa watching everyone else go crazy. If anyone has advice for a first timer, I am anxious to hear. C YA | |

Posted: 7/23/2008 10:29:12 AM | Yes I have advice for a first timer, as I was last year and a little worried as I am in my 50's.
Even tho being with a group that is young enough to be my kids age, there was enough of us older (should I say that) to feel like I fit right in.
Was welcome and to tell you the truth had the time of my life. Alot of laughs and alot of fun at night around the camp-fire. Even tho I didnt get much sleep, heck who needs sleep when your with this group, had a ball.
So really if first time coming and worry about fitting in, don't be. We will make you feel welcome and WET, in no time.

Have never seen these guys   and know I won't, we spend to much time laughing to get like that..Well I did see one guy last year, but he went home Sat morning alone and never saw him again..poor Joe!! With my joining this group only a few days back, I see this as very good sign. Not to mention the chance to have a lot of fun while meeting new people.
