I posted the story when it first broke and not one single supporter posted in his defense, while several of McCain supporters accused me of slander.

Well sticks and stones...I doubt they're real Americans anyway. Demonizing a person so they don't have to counter you with any real facts is un-American and cowardly.

With over 300 million in the USA it's mind boggling that Obama and McCain are the best that both sides can come up with. I see no logic in that; I know we can do better.

Why not look for a leader that will unite America? Instead we get two people who will polerize it further. McCain and Obama already seem to be polerizing their own parties, how will they ever unite us?

Logic in politics? If pro is the opposite of con, then what is Congress to progress

Bull. Almost 62% of Americans support abortion.

Link?

Here is a collection of various polls: http://www.pollingreport.com/abortion.htm
None of them simply ask "Do you support abortion?", since that question is basically useless in an issue with so many factors. Also note how evenly split most of the poll results are. Most people are in the middle, voting for things like "legal in some cases", "mostly legal", or "mostly illegal".

This issue may very well be what causes his fall. For anyone to disagree, they need to research the topic.

Considering who won the last two presidential elections (largely on the backs of Evangalicals), I'd say a Republican using a pro-life platform is risking NOTHING.

because of it, several actors including 3 extreme righty's, and my own mother have jumped ship, saying that his views on it were a "no deal" for them.

They're jumping ship now? Did they think Bush was pro-choice? "Let's get justices who will overturn Roe" has been a Republican talking point for as long as I can recall.

I think it was fairly poignant what Montreal Guy said.
He also mentioned Tommy Emmanuel and Jake Shimabukuro in the same post in the music forum so he obviously knows what he's talking about.
