Heaven will be paradise and we shall eat at the banquet table with the saints...... who they are is yet to be determined. But imagine chowing down on a rack of BBQ ribs with Peter.... after all he is the one given the vision of all the animals, clean and unclean, together and Jesus telling him that HE made all things clean.

I don't know shit about the bible.
.... at one point or another most of us were in the same boat as you. Get yourself a good NIV (New International Version) study Bible and read. No time like the present to learn. The most amazing thing about the scriptures is that when we read with an open heart and mind they can transform lives!

God gave us the ability to laugh, more importantly he gave us the ability to laugh at ourselves...

For all you " You better not do this" and "You better not do that" kinda people...Lighten up!

And if you cant lighten up, take care of yours...and dont worry about mine.

What about the Jack in the Box Clown? He's evil, too. I'm looking forward to this Ambrosia of which they speak. The food of the gods. I'm sure there are no marshmallows or cool whip.

No marshmallows....DARN! I love them roasted, between chocolate and graham crackers. Surely we'll have a fire over which to enjoy such decadent morsels.

...if God didn't believe in sacrificing his lesser beings for food...How would Jesus have taken the fish and loaves...and fed the masses??
...And believe me...I haven't been thumping my bible too hard lately...I've got a latent disregard for a lot of organized religion these days....Look what the Taliban has done with a perfectly good religion....

Perhaps not the most popular dish, but Humble Pie should be the one eaten most often.

Food is a physical need, not necessarily a spiritual one, (although many of use do consider food, and the preparing of it as spiritual)...I believe that in heaven we will have no physical needs, so therefore, I'm not so sure we will be eating, at least not as we know it now.

There was a movie I saw once called "Made in Heaven" and in that film, the 2 main characters are talking and one is explaining to the other how things work in Heaven and she (Kelly McGillis) says that anything you could ever want is here all you have to do is think it, and it is. So I guess with food it might be that way. We wouldn't need it but if we decided that we wanted a lobster or a big mac - It would be there.

I kind of like to think of it in that way - if it is good and you think it into being, its there.
I guess the answer will be revealed when I get there.

Personally though I don't think that we will have a NEED for food because it's our physical bodies that require nutrients to sustain us and in the Bible after Adam sinned God says to him in Gen 3:19
"By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return."

Based on that scripture it says UNTIL you return to the ground you will eat your food.
Then in Luke 24 after Jesus is resurrected the Disciples were a bit shocked & acting as if they were seeing a Ghost then Jesus said to them:
39Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have."
40When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. 41And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, "Do you have anything here to eat?" 42They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43and he took it and ate it in their presence.

So I'm thinking - Yeah we get to eat but I don't believe it will be a need. My understanding from that passage is that he was trying to prove to them that he was not a Ghost but the there physically with them. If God was resurrected as a Ghost it would not have the same impact as Him coming back in the flesh. It was not necessary for Him but it was for us so that we understood who He is and the power He has over life and death.

You know Kukie, I am thinking you are not so kukie after all

Since it is church day LOL for the Christians anyway...I generally consider mine to be Friday night to Saturday night.... I was thinking about something that this thread lead me into, so I am going to throw another monkey wrench into this discussion.

I don't know that I believe in the "trinity" as many christians seem to believe in it and just like pupdaddy, I am not very keen on organized religion as a whole. That being said, I cannot imagine living without God and my faith and I often find myself attached to a "faith body" because it seems to help me cope with daily life in general....do not neglect the gathering of yourselves together...as in like-minds, one accord, same faith kind of gathering. So here is the wrench: If God is a triune being [father, son, spirit] and we are triune beings [body, soul, spirit] and all three, whether us or God, have to work together and be recognized for optimum health, or for us to be made whole, then what happens to our soul? The body dies and goes back to dust, the spirit is enternal and goes to heaven, or the other place if that is your belief, but what happens to our soul??? Or some would use the word mind here...body, mind, spirit. I don't think it matters really, both are esoteric, yet weighty. This has always puzzled me.

If there is a heaven, I dont think there will be food. How will those who go to heaven eat, they have no bodies, no need to refuel. I am sure that they will be focusing on other things such as worshipping their God or who ever they worship. I did read a book once where a man died, was in heaven for 90 minutes, he never talked about food, just alot of relatives, singing, whiteness. But heaven for me would have other substances I could enjoy in with out worrying about physical or mental addiction. Food is a necessaity in this life, in heaven we would not have to deal with it.

and believe there is a heaven (doubt it but fun question follows) do you think we would be able to eat in heaven?

No. Food keeps your physical body alive, and you do not have a physical body in heaven. If it's heaven, you wouldn't need anything - including food and water - to "sustain" you.

^^^I thought heaven was supposed to be the ultimate pleasure....so what would food be...a frivolous bonus?
Somehow I just don't think heaven would work that way....
