I saw this club last week. It is Huge and Gorgeous!!! It is a regular Big Time Night Club size. Dance floor of old Jazz club was removed for more tables, but dancing is allowed and there is plenty of space for it. You might notice a lot of old paintings are still from when it as a jazz club.
If you a great singer, you can live the ego dream of having your own band and back up singers. If you can't sing or even remember a tune, like me, it will be a opportunity to break through the shell of inhibitions and go up on stage for a few minutes, to cure YOUR stage fright. Don't be too worried the audience will be loaded with us fishes to cheer even the worsts of us. Might be me!!! He He... Who cares. Dance as if no one is watching and now Sing as if no one was is either. Come out with your friends you haven't met yet!!! Bring your own friends too. Posted: 6/25/2008 4:59:25 PM | A1....you are so right about the ambiance that the place has...I went up on a Friday and hadd a blast.......It is definitely alot of fun and if someone has stage fright this is a perfect way to do it-get up and sing....I'm still running thru the list.....summer of 69, you've lost that lovin feelin...may sing Sitton on the dock of the bay or superstition--options...a friend is trying to get me to sing pour some sugar on me...but for some unknown reason i feel tempted to try the black crowes -hard to handle...lol I guess we'll see when i get up there...
now just deciding on something to wear so u know its me...lol question where on the main floor are we meeting? I'll be there by 8 to get relaxed, pick a song, and chill...if u need help with setting up let me know-email me here by friday night and i'll send u a number to catch me at...lets make this bigger than big....

I will intend for all, who wanted to come, tomorrow, WILL be able to come tomorrow OR miraculously have them selves replaced with their CLONE. Tough call ..I hope all remains well for everyone!!! Lots of events to have yet. Don't get cold feet now. If you do bring them to Rising Star and I will give you a free foot massage to warm them up... Dancing a little will help too!!! ^^^ I hope you still can come, if not howl at you later!!!  | |

Posted: 6/28/2008 10:43:14 AM | | I went to the Rising star team member preview and once again with my daughter. The club is beautiful. If you have been to City Jazz at City walk its their old venue. What makes this a unique experience is you perform with a live band , and you have professional back up singers. Your image is projected on large screens behind you. You truely feel like a star up there. It is worth the cost of admission even if you do not want to get up and sing. For those who do, get your song choice in early , or you may wait a long time to be called up there. Drinks are pricey , but you are paying to be in a very upscale club. I might drop by after work , if I am not to exhausted. Have a great time everyone. | |

Thanks, GREAT ADVICE, as it was mentioned on phone from another to me, that this might happen. There is a GLASS fish bowl jar on the right down stage in theater terms...or in lay terms on the LEFT side of the front of the stage if you are in the audience. Put your song to sing in that jar.
Very true on Drink prices too. It is theme park pricing, so don't be too shocked on $6 to $12+ prices.
