| George Carlin Passes away at 71.. Posted: 6/24/2008 9:10:19 AM | George and I had alot in common, he said many things I thought of & wanted to say, the only difference is he made them funny, he always told the truth about everything , it's very SAD that most people hate to hear the truth. He said he was not a religious person but somehow he believed JESUS is still alive, I wonder where George is now. My heart goes out to his family. I WILL ALWAYS MISS U GEORGE...
*THE QUEEN WAS HERE*
U WERE ONE OF THE GREATEST!!!

Aside from Cliff burton this is the only time the death of a celebrety has made me cry...And I was 12 when Cliff died.
I'm probably the only other one in here who knows who you're talking about. A true Metallica fan.

| George Carlin Passes away at 71.. Posted: 6/24/2008 10:32:16 AM | Thanks Dancecard, you'd make a great George Burns to my Gracie Allen, I find it a compliment and you're a sweety. You have that same humor, most find so refreshing.
George Carlin had a simpler view of things and a way to express himself and his thoughts in a way we could all understand. He could bring up stuff we all do and say, and keep us in stitches...really laughin' about ourself.
Like Will Rogers said...."We okies got smarts. We just don't brag about it alot."
I loved his Carlin's weatherman forecast: Tonight: DARK/Tomorrow: LIGHT, beginning with scattered DARK.
Again, thanks Dance....I'm really not worthy of Gracie, but I appreciate the comparison....say goodnight Gracie

| George Carlin Passes away at 71.. Posted: 6/24/2008 5:19:51 PM | George Carlin was one of the few people who still told it the way it is. He never waivered to the government or corporate interests, and had no problem in telling the American people how badly they are getting screwed. I don't know who can take his place in this day of corporate ass-kissers and public figures who are afraid to speak their minds without repraisals from the government. I so agree. And considering his opinion (healthy skepticism I think) toward religion, I wonder what he's up to now... I will miss him, he made the world a better place by telling it like it is (or how he saw it) and ALWAYS encouraging us to think.
^ ^ ^
A lot of people think of George Carlin as a wacko liberal satirist, controversialist or what have you, and on occasion he was. And of course these are the things the left ignores about George Carlin. For example.......
Let me tell you about endangered species, all right? Saving endangered species is just one more arrogant attempt by humans to control nature. It's arrogant meddling. It's what got us in trouble in the first place. Doesn't anybody understand that? Interfering with nature. Over 90%, way over 90% of all the species that have ever lived on this plant, ever lived, are gone. They're instinct. We didn't kill them all. They just disappeared. That's what nature does. We're so self-important, so self-important. Everybody is going to save something now. Save the trees, save the bees, save the whales, save those snails. And the greatest arrogance of all, save the planet.
I'm tired of these self-righteous environmentalists, these white bourgeois liberals who think the only thing wrong with this country is there aren't enough bicycle paths, people trying to make the world safe for their Volvos. There is nothing wrong with the planet. Nothing wrong with the planet. The planet is fine. The people are ****...... difference, difference. The planet is fine. Compared to the people, the planet is doing great. It's been here four and a half billion years. Did you ever think about the arithmetic? The planet has been here four and a half billion years. We've only been engaged in heavy industry for a little more than 200 years.
Two hundred years versus four and a half billion, and we have the conceit to think that somehow we're a threat, that somehow we're going to put in jeopardy this beautiful little blue-green ball that's just a-floating' around the sun? The planet has been through a lot worse than us, been through all kinds of things worse than us, been through earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, continental drift, solar flares, sunspots, magnetic storms, the magnetic reversal of the poles, hundreds of thousands of years of bombardment by comets and asteroids and meteors, worldwide floods, tidal waves, worldwide fires, erosion, cosmic rays, recurring ice ages, and we think some plastic bags and some aluminum cans are going to make a difference? The planet isn't going anywhere. We are! We're going away.
Funny stuff! Great Stuff! True Stuff! He even got some applause from his audience, which was also a healthy sign.

| George Carlin Passes away at 71.. Posted: 6/25/2008 12:51:37 AM | George Carlin quotes:
If one synchronized swimmer drowns, do the rest drown, too?
Whose cruel idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have a "S" in it?
What do you do when you see an endangered animal eating an endangered plant?
One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor.
If a man is standing in the middle of the forest speaking and there is no woman around to hear him...is he still wrong?
LOL r.i.p. | |

If anyone deserves one, it is George.

Nice 'Christian' attitude, you have there. Maybe you were one of the folks Carlin had in mind when he did his routine. Nasty comments like those given here are anything but 'Christlike' and certainly don't reflect a peaceful, tolerant, loving personality. Lots of luck with your dating.

| George Carlin Passes away at 71.. Posted: 7/8/2008 11:27:38 AM | Mr. Carlin "worshiped" the sun. It's a bright idea, I think. I've seen his 10 minute piece on the subject. It is very...ummm...enlightening....
Of course, he wouldn't pray to the sun....that would be too presumptuous.
