Geez,
Crikey, firstly I would like to correct you on the spelling, If my country was spelt Auztralia, you would be correct in spelling it Auzzie, but it is actually spelt Australia, therefore we are Aussie`s (which brings me to another point, If someone from AustralIA is AustralIAN, AmerICA - AmerICAN JamaCA JamaCAN, my conclusion is that Canada should be CanADAN or we change your countries name to Canadia, because Canadian makes no sense when there is no I in Canada.

See what I mean,

Now as for Australian men treating women like possessions, you didn`t say some men, you make it sound like ALL Australian men are like that, that is like saying all black men have a big penis.

I havn`t read the whole forum as yet, I am working my way up from the bottom, guess I should have started at the top.

I personally think that if you ask Canadian women and Australian women the same questions, the figures would be similar.

I have noticed here that there are more women in the workforce, I have seen more women driving trucks in Canada than Australia. I can also tell you our basic wage is probably now around $13 - $14 dollars per hour, When I left home to come here, I was on $24 an hour, therefore a lot of women choose not to work, the husband makes good money, but here you can`t get by unless both of you work.

When I was married (to a Canadian), We both worked, granted she had a better paying job, I had some sporadic work, but if I came home first, I would cook dinner, if she was tired, I would iron her uniform, we shared the cleaning and washing etc. She was my friend first, wife second, I didn`t control who she had as friends (can`t say the same for the reverse), I didn`t tell her she couldn`t go out with her friends.

Does this sound like we all treat women as possessions, let`s not generalise, Canadians (or should I say Canadan`s ) find Aussie`s sexy, well let me tell you something girls, Aussie`s find Canadian`s sexy too, the grass is always greener on the other side.

I have met just as many Canadian men and women who treat their partners like crap as I know Aussies do the same thing.

So now I have that off my chest,

Guy

I thought if I posted a reply from within someone`s it would quote them, look at Fizzy`s post on page one (no offence Fizzy, just setting you straight on the spelling, it is like that advertisement for Aussie hair products, where the girl (who is trying to be an Aussie but obviously isn`t) pronounces Aussie (sounds like ozzie) Ossie, that grinds me to distraction, seriously, it would be like me doing a commercial in Australia, calling you guy`s Canadans!!! that wouldn`t be nice, or saying that you all speak French.

You made me chuckle because I see people on other forums, especially American's, type 'Canadia' a lot, it's kind of an in joke. And 'Auzzie' just doesn't look right. Aussie! I was never too fond of generalizations and spelling mistakes, myself.

A member of my extended family ended up going to Australia some decades ago, the reason why? To find a man! She found one, and while they have had their ups and downs like any other couple, they are still together. He is a very nice fellow and his accent is so cool. :D I don't believe any garbage about Australians treating women like crap, I have several Aussie friends and they are people just like anybody else here.

Hmm... I think the following paragraph might have been skipped over in my post:

Remember, the generalizations on Aussie men are not based on my own experience, I have no life experience in this area and therefore cannot claim it as one of my perceptions; It is a generalization used soley as a basis to postulate a possible reason the OP has had this experience with Aussie women.

Note to self, generalizations, even with disclaimers, are not to be used as they will always be taken out of context. Also make sure to always put the word "some" in front of the word men or women so others do not think you implying "all" men or women.

Thanks for the spelling lesson Guy_9696, I shall always spell Aussie correctly from this point forward.

Getting back to the reason for this post, Stone wants something where he can find Australian women, ok, what aboot (trying to fit in) Canadian women who long for our sexy (sic) accent, which naturally I don`t find sexy when I hear a recording of myself, but I am no judge of self sexiness. I would love to have me sitting on a site frequented by Canadian women who want Aussies, it would be like being a fish in a fishtank with the Canadian bikini fishing team throwing their lines in!!!!, that would be sweet, but odds are it won`t happen. Stoenman, look out for QANTAS (for the guy picky about spell checking, QANTAS is spelt that way, not Quantas, not qantas it is an acronym for Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services, just a bit of trivia for you guy`s. (because it is a name, therefore it is capitalised, ((sorry capatilised))
They have deals each year for $1100 return with 3 internal flights, so as someone else suggested, go there, open your mouth and have them swooning.

Now getting back to language and spelling, I am picky with spelling, I do spell using Australian English, there is such a thing as a Canadian Dictionary, in that dictionary, colour is not spelt color, grey is not spelt gray, for those of you who say it can be spelt either way, buy a dictionary, Canadian English is not American English, you are your own country, stick up for yourselves, you don`t need to accept the influence from the south, you don`t need to accept either spelling because one is wrong. If I spell realise without the Z, pull me up on it, I am adapting, I do now call petrol gas (don`t agree with it, but when in rome......)

These are my thoughts for the day.

Words from my Australian dictionary (let me know if any of you want these frequently)
Bonza - something good, something exciting , e.g. I got a $100 cheque (not check) from the government today, it was bonza mate

Streuth (pron strooth), exclamation of excitement e.g. Streuth I just saw a streaker at the cricket match

Septic tank (rhyming slang) Yank - American

(trivia, what word in the dictionary has 7 letters and no vowels - rhythms

(wondering about the lack of a question mark - If anyone is good with computers, when typing in this forum, or e-mails etc., my keyboard reverts to alternate characters on the keyboard, for example, shift on number 2 is meant to get the at sign, for me it gets ", inverted commas gets `a reverse colon, can anybody help me with that if you know about computers, e-mail me.)

Later

Crikey, Guy, you may be able to spell, but have you heard of the comma splice. Better yet, have you heard of the period? Futhermore, you are not great with capital letters. Rome should be capitalized. When one fails to punctuate properly, it destroys the entire flow of their writing. Your writing spills and spills and spills. Poorly punctuated writing taxes the reader and usually leads to disengagement.

Fortunately, Guy, you actually have something interesting to say. I would like to point out that in the word rhythm - y is a vowel in the first syllable. Remember that y and w can be vowels at times. Check your dictionary. The second syllable in rhythm is an anomaly because it does not have a vowel, which every syllable should have.

Good luck all in your quest for Aussies. I think people are people are people are people ... and who cares where you come from? It is what in your heart that counts.
