| FOX NEWS: Lying to America? Posted: 6/30/2008 11:59:36 PM | FOX NEWS LIES!
I just watched fox news and on Greta she was talking about some kid getting murdered!
I don't care at all because everyone says that Fox News is all lies, so I know it's not true.

| FOX NEWS: Lying to America? Posted: 7/1/2008 12:05:09 AM | Fox News is very right wing conservative and like all news media, it has it bias. I personally prefer CNN. My father prefers MSNBC, to me they are boring.
I like Lou Dobbs. He appears to be a true independent. He calls them all names or gives them praise.
I also like the 360 show.
Now, they have a show on Sunday's that is based in London, and I love to hear that perspective. I guess viewing all angles can be healthy.

| FOX NEWS: Lying to America? Posted: 7/1/2008 1:45:31 PM | Fox has News, hell, I thought it was another reality show that wasn't real. I've watch Fox News a few times, its really a funny show, what I like about it is the fact they actually think what they are reporting is true. And yep they go to extremes to push it in. I find that funny, along with "If I want your opinion, than I will give it to ya".
I don't know folks, but I think the rift between the left and the right in the US is so bad now a days its almost as if there are two USAs in this world. Just by the post in this thread. How does it feel to have your media actively divide your people up with there opinions. I always thought that the media should not have an opinion but give you the facts, after all you are suppose to be an adult and make up your minds yourself.
95% of all media in the US is owned by 5 corporations, and you think your getting the news, and if you did, how come very little mention of a candidate such as Ron Paul who is making more sense than both the candidates in either party. The left wing don't want Paul because he make sense, the right don't want Paul because he makes sense. Hes the only guy who has put his agenda right out in front for you to see, Obama keeps barking change, what change a change of clothes, and McCain is mindless worst than Bush and believes that its more important to "Save Face" in Iraq than saving lives. I'm not telling anyone how to vote or who to vote for, but all the media I feel are not doing there job.
Fox news is propaganda, if you can't see that then you are watching it because it supports your view, news is suppose give you the facts and allow you to question yourself on your opinion, not give you theres.

Check out this new segment. It's awesome! http://www.realamericanstories.com/
That's a very nice video Padawan. I'd like to know what it means to you. To me it speaks of the freedoms we enjoy in this country and how important they are to us on an individual basis. That said, do you think that people in other countries should also enjoy those same freedoms even if they don't jibe with what we think in our country?
To keep this on topic, I found an interesting candid interview with Rupert Murdock where he actually talks about shaping the news agenda. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0K2pLo8JV5Y&feature=related
Those of you on the right despise Keith Olbermann, and I don't much care for his left-wing agenda as I see it to be the very same hypocrisy I accuse Fox of. In this video he makes a very good point about the willingness of Fox owned NY Post to do a hit piece on him even though doing so had national security implications. Take a moment to watch it all the way through to the end. While the Post doesn't make any claims to be fair and balanced, the job they did reporting this incident impugned journalistic credibility on a scale that would make the editors at the National Enquirer blush.

| FOX NEWS: Lying to America? Posted: 7/1/2008 4:04:06 PM | | I can't say that I've seen Fox anymore biased than the others. Each news channel pursue their own agenda in various ways no more no less than Fox news. So, when I see only one particular news channel like Fox getting tared and feathered by some claiming they are biased. I know these people claiming such things aren't worth listening to, as they haven't enough sense to see the other news channels are biased as well. | |
|
| FOX NEWS: Lying to America? Posted: 7/1/2008 4:49:43 PM | | People believe what they want to. If something bad is said about Bush/Obama/black people/white people, muslims/ immigrants/gays and lesbians on the news(any channel), people want to believe it, some dont. If another channel comes up with a different story, that channel will be referred to as biased or non biased. Fox may not be biased. Fox may be the only station brave enough to report the truth. The other channels may be just trying to be politically correct, which that will make them afraid to report the truth. When people hear a story, only the people actually involved know the truth. So how can we say a channel is lying. All we can do is be aware of our own surroundings.I know what goes on around here. If a channel reports something different than what I see going on around me,(which they do 99% of the time, I label them as biased. I find just about every news channel biased. | |

| FOX NEWS: Lying to America? Posted: 7/1/2008 5:30:16 PM | Faux news is conservative, everyone knows that, or the 23% wouldn't love it so much.
When mom says you are beautiful/handsome, she isn't lying, she really thinks that you are. But if you haven't had a date in two years, face it, you aren't exactly hot stuff!
Faux news is your mom, telling you what you want to hear. All the other news sources tell you the opposite. . . Guess what that means!

When mom says you are beautiful/handsome, she isn't lying, she really thinks that you are But wouldn't she tell you if doing something wrong like wearing to much make up, your outfit dont look right on you or your hair needs to be combed so you can fix the problem. Fox news may be your mom attempting the correct the things that can be corrected.Thats a different way of looking at. No one else will tell you because they dont want to offend you. And being most people are liberals(I assume because of you post,)wouldn't the other news channels want to feed into their beliefs to get the dates(viewers)?

| FOX NEWS: Lying to America? Posted: 7/1/2008 10:51:22 PM | "Fox news may be your mom attempting the correct the things that can be corrected."
Oh! NOW I understand!! Fox "News" is like Mommy Dearest...on really bad crystal meth...mixed with 'the brown acid' (those of you who remember Woodstock will get it) and a few quarts of Jack Daniels.
"Daddy, why is Mommy hovering in the air, swearing in Latin and vomiting liquid mercury?..."
Thanks for clearing that up!

Every media outlet has a bias of some sort. It's quite simple, really-- if you cannot notice the bias, it simply means that its bias is the exact same as your own. Yeah, what he said.
Thats the single most wisest comment on this thread.

I just watched fox news and on Greta she was talking about some kid getting murdered!
I don't care at all because everyone says that Fox News is all lies, so I know it's not true. So do you think that Greta was lying about the kid getting murdered? You think she would purposely lie to make up news?

| FOX NEWS: Lying to America? Posted: 7/2/2008 7:32:49 AM | As many have posted .....All new outlets including Fox cater to the people who share common beliefs, I have willfully watched all news programs and feel that Fox although is more to the right they do reveal and disect the leadership on the right more so then I have seen other news outlets go after the left who slant left.
But every news outlet should tell it like it is rather then telling it as they think we should hear it! This is a major reason why Fox and others are loosing loyal viewers along with news papers to Talk Radio....Talk radio and the inter net seem to be the new sources for the masses now days!
Personally I have never seen Fox news blatently lie, but I have seen them slant right which is no different then Msnbc Cnn abc nbc cbs and so on..slant left! I prefer talk radio now days because it's real time and real feed back from callers, T.V. media you can't respond to? Talk radio you can!

| FOX NEWS: Lying to America? Posted: 7/2/2008 8:01:01 AM | | hmmmm interesting point Poco......thinking out loud here.....so wouldn't internet radio almost, by definition, have to be part of the solution as well? Isn't there quite a bit of that going on now? (yes, I honestly do live in a cave) I know the TV networks try to respond to emails on air but....I wonder what kind of following internet radio is generating now. | |
|
| FOX NEWS: Lying to America? Posted: 7/2/2008 8:03:30 AM | Faux news lies? Wow I am so shocked. What am I gonna do with my life now?
Fox news is a joke. It isn't news. It is entertainment. Just like CNN, MSNBC, and all the other crap out there.
The only person on any of the Networks I can stand is Lou Dobbs.
And people please stop calling Fox news conservative. Becuase it is not.

Rush Limbaugh has a listener base of approx. 24 million people who turn in daily, which may explain why just signed a Four Hundred Million dollar contract to continue his program until 2016
he is now the highest paid news person on radio or T.V.

| FOX NEWS: Lying to America? Posted: 7/2/2008 5:36:40 PM | | Imagine a guy like Walter Cronkite, sitting at his desk ready to do the news. With a gray curtain behind him, all he did was tell you the news, or in the past, where you only heard the news on the radio, and it didn't matter what the candidate looked like, if his hair cut was right or he had a nice $2000 suite or if he was cute. What we get from all media today is pop cultured news with hype. Fox is the best, all the rest is second. We live in a pop cultured society with all the hype for advertisers. Who do you think is going to program the news, a media expert or a marketing expert. Welcome to the 21st century. Soon Walt Disney will give you the news, oh, ABC or is it CBS maybe NBC. | |

Fox News airs altered photos of NY Times reporters
Summary: During a segment in which Fox & Friends co-hosts Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade labeled New York Times reporter Jacques Steinberg and editor Steven Reddicliffe "attack dogs," Fox News featured photos of Steinberg and Reddicliffe that appeared to have been digitally altered -- the journalists' teeth had been yellowed, their facial features exaggerated, and portions of Reddicliffe's hair moved further back on his head.

Erik, not that this will change your mind, but I saw this episode this morning, and this was a retalliation to an article Steinberg wrote supposedly at the direction of Reddicliffee who used to work at Fox. Not very grown up certainly, rather like some of the personal attacks in the POF forum? Boys will be Boys?
Personally I like Steve and Brian, we work out together every morning at the gym. Well, i work out, they make me forget the pain!

So what's the point? A couple of Fox attack dogs go after a couple of NYT reporters that have made it their mission to attack Fox at every opportunity. So what? It was a joke piece people. Have you ever heard a "joke" before? Obviously, you've never watched the end of the show hosted by Brit Hume. Some people need to check the eBay listings and see if anyone is selling a sense of humor.

| FOX NEWS: Lying to America? Posted: 7/2/2008 10:08:37 PM | You're comparing Fox News to POF?
You know there are people on this thread arguing that Fox has integrity and is a reputable source of news.
Fox News responds to commentary with attacking the commentator's picture and then presenting it to the public without comment without letting the public know they doctored the picture?
Yeah, that's something Cronkite and Murrow would do.
In this light it's obvious that when Fox does things like change a chiron to portray scandaled republicans like mark foley as a democrat or label the probable next first lady as "obamas baby mama" or pretend to call obama osama by mistake and then joke that we should kill both of them, they are doing it with willful malicious intent to degrade their political enemies.
That's the Fox and Republican standard of journalism. And of course Rush is even worse.
What does that tell you when a supposed respected and fair and balanced newsource has to rely on ad hominem attacks and obvious smear campaigns to make a case?
Seriously. | |
