| On A Bus - A Two Part Question Posted: 7/1/2008 10:34:11 AM | Well, if in this hypothetical situation you were actually wearing the iPod, then she very well could have thought of you as "safe" for no interruptions or chit chat, as well! ;)
Sometimes, small talk feels so obligatory and boring!
But on a flip side of the situation...it is also highly annoying when idle chat gets misinterpreted as "interest" in any other level other than just common courtesy or friendliness.
I cannot tell you how many times I have been accused of flirting or making a move, simply for talking to someone! While I understand this varies depending on areas...it does happen. In Missouri, you automatically say, "Hey...how's it going" to the store clerk ringing your morning coffee, or anyone in passing. In other states, I have been looked at like, "WTF are you talking to me for?? I don't KNOW you!"

| On A Bus - A Two Part Question Posted: 7/1/2008 2:45:18 PM | Aww this happened to me a couple years ago! I was on a crappy Hamilton city bus and this cute guy sat down right beside me when it was obvious there were much better seats, but then again it IS Hamilton and dirty people are everywhere so he may have a had good reason to choose me as a seating partner. Whether or not he had any interest, I decided to take my earphones out and start talking to him (I find MP3 players to be very anti-social). We talked about just about everything, the chemistry was there and it was perfection at it's best. Then we both got off at Limeridge mall, I went my way and he went his. I told myself that if we met again, I would get a number and if not it was a wonderful encounter with a perfect stranger that I'll never forget. | |

| On A Bus - A Two Part Question Posted: 7/1/2008 8:45:54 PM | As I sit on the bus a number of times this has happened a guy sitting next to me instead of in a seat to his self. You just turn toward the lady and say Hi and smile. Make the standard statements on the weather and work. (This part is the guy part no matter who sat next to whon) Ask her if she will be on the same bus tomarrow. If she says no ask her for her number. One guy told me if I did not give him my number he would go home and cry because I had eyes like his mother and another said I was the first nice girl he met in Denver and wanted to be sure that he did not lose me. Both lines worked only because the guys were so good looking. Only guys that are creepy, ugly, smell bad, or are way too young/old for me do not get a number. | |

Fair deal, dude! Give the bus girl the same consideration when you speak to her at long last!! Make sure your breath is fresh. Maybe a MENTOS....???

| On A Bus - A Two Part Question Posted: 7/2/2008 2:06:51 PM | it's a stupid game that many girls play.... or it could be any one of the reasons you mentioned. it could also be that she's just feeling the need to feel good: hey peple are going to see me sitting next to a hot guy on the bus and think... personally, if i think you're hot i'll go sit next to you, say hey, what's up, or just slide you my number and run away...depends on how forward i'm feeling. PART TWO: yes when you are on the bus you're trying to get somewhere, but what better a time to strike up a conversation??? what the hell else are you going to do? look out the window at the beautiful downtown scenery???? watch all the other drones on their way to their meaningless life sucking jobs???? FU.CK the bars, FU.CK cafes, FU.CK the fuc.kers that go there. I go to the bar to get drunk, I go to cafes to get a cup of tea. Why not let the mode of transport take you somplace you actually want to go? And hey, if you hit if off you're quite possibly on your way to his/her place already ;) | |
