It's something I would accept, assuming the person isn't self-destructive. Contrary to popular belief, some people do maintain an "ethical slut" mentality. They enjoy sex, pushing limits further than most mainstream folks would ever accept as "normal." Yet they do so with an open mind--and comfort with their own sexuality.
Sexual exploration and discovery isn't always handled in mature, well-thought way. But there are those who DO know what they want, what they enjoy--and go for it. They play safe within sane situations. It's gratifying to them on many levels.
You have to wonder where people have such strong judgments about this type of sex. Some stereotype gangbang pornography as disgusting, inhuman, and grotesque. I guess it depends on what you've seen. I've known some women who've enjoyed GBs--and they aren't sub-human, morally deviant individuals. They have a sexual desire; they know what they want; they do it in scenes where it's safe & sane. Some call it kink or abnormal; they call it normal for them.
So, what is "normal"? 
It doesn't bother me if my partner enjoys them, has done them, or has a future desire to do them. (Some of you are saying "ick!" That's fine. To each their own.) Granted that she plays safe, has given it serious thought, and has the constitution to handle the "morning after" -- then there's no issues with me.
A closing thought: I think most people are justifiably grossed out when thinking "but it's a free-for-all! Who would want to engage in acts with complete strangers?!" That's where the mindset of someone who does it can/should explain it themselves. Maybe for them, it's simply an emotional detachment; a focus on the act, not the person. Maybe they're fulfilling their fantasy/fantasies. Maybe they're simply addicted to sex. Maybe something else. | |
