LOL gladitsummer on your description of the wonderful toilets.............Even the Cosy Crapper is still a bit minging...but at least I know my number 2's & 1's are helping the environment!!!

I'm so glad you didn't have a bad experience.....I suppose it all depends which festival you choose.....So many to choose from now I'm sure you'd find one for us mainly over 30's!!!

Beware Long Post

Gladitsummer, im sorry but you have no idea what glastonbury is about as its pretty obvious you have never been

You say your too old for it, well Glastonbury im happy to say has the majority of folk your age, the ones like myself that have been going for years and years.

Glastonbury is the size of over 900 acres and hosts something like 80 different stages, ranging from music which covers, today's music, jazz, folk, blues, accoustic, there is a seperate Dance Village as well as tents for comedy, theatre, literature, circus to name but a few.

To say that there wouldnt be anything that would appeal to you im sorry would be a statement made without knowledge as even if you wasnt into today's music there is plenty of other musicial artists to wet your appetite, i mean where else in a field in the world do you get the likes of Gilber OSullivan, Neil Diamond, Jimmy Cliff, Levellers, Crowded House, Hazel OConnor, Alabama 3, 3 Daft Monkeys, British Sea Power, Chas N Dave, The Wurzels to name but a few all playing along side each other

And that is just the music, lets not forget the greenfields, healing field, stone circle, trash city, kidz field, leftfield where things happen that are totally remarkable and not forgettable neither, these things make each individuals glastonbury experience unique.

Jayzee completley ruined Wonderwall in my opinion and did make him look like a bad kareeokee ( or however you spell it) at a cheap wedding reception.

Gladstonbury isn't what it used to be anyhow so you can't say no artist has a place there, but it was different to have a (c)rap artist . Rap's got realy borring lately.
I would sue him for deffamation and ruining a decent fookin song if I was the Gallagers

Missself if you seriously thought that Jay-z was singing Wonderwall as a mark of respect then you should seriously go and watch it online, then you will see just how much Jay-z was taking the piss, especially as he used video footage of Noel Gallaghers interview when he said that Jay-Z was not welcome as "his" glastonbury but what Noel Gallagher should take notice of the was the professionalism of Jay-Z's performanance and the next time Oasis get to play on the Pyramid stage they should use the same professionalism rather than their piss poor performance of 2005 where they were arguing amoungst themselves on stage rather than entertaining the crowd.

Sunny Sunflower, if you are going to glastonbury for your birthday next year, be sure to be at the cider bus on the wednesday night where if i see you i will certainly buy you a hot cider with a apricot chaser, but if you fancy doing a festival to dip your toe into before then i would recommend Shambala to you, its smaller than glastonbury but has the similar magical experience that you will love

your 47?

" Gilber OSullivan, Neil Diamond, Jimmy Cliff, Levellers, Crowded House, Hazel OConnor, Alabama 3, 3 Daft Monkeys, British Sea Power, Chas N Dave, The Wurzels to name but a few all playing along side each other"

Id probably make an effort to trapse along to see maybe 2 of those acts.
Im expressing my taste choice and viewpoint, ok its from tv land but its going to remain that way.

Im glad you enjoy Glast and I hope you continue to do so

Then dont say its load of bollox generally when you have no idea what you are talking about, your opinion is based on what you see on the TV and that doesnt even cover 20% of the festival as a whole

As for my age your right im not 47, but the oldest person is our group is 59 so your age doesnt really have any bearing on it, im just trying to point out facts to you that glastonbury is not just full of jumped up teenagers, there are folk there that have been going since it started and there are folk like me that have been going for sum 14 years.

As for the music, i was trying to give you an insight into the variation of the music that Glastonbury offers but i can see that your not really that interested, you have your opinion, which TBH is not worth much as you have never experienced what you seem to be slagging off

Oh by the way as for the toilets, there isnt just the turdis, there are the normal toilets that you have up by the farm house, as well as the She-Pee's, the urinals and off course not forgetting the long drops, which you can sit and watch the stars whilst you go about your business

what am I slagging off now? glastonbury or the music?
what I choose to listen to and like is entirely up to me, of the acts you listed, a couple I would see, the rest if they played in my back garden Id shut the curtains.

Your opening line to this thread

Glastonbury...........load of bollx generally

How can you state that when you have never been

I have no quarms with your music the same as you have non with mine, nor would i slag your music preference off as we are all unique and enjoy our own sounds, that is the beauty of music and the effect that it has on every individual in the world

Like i said above, i was trying to give you an insight into the variation of what Glastonbury has to offer but i can see that your not really interested, as you have your own opinions although they dont amount to much as you have never experienced Glastonbury therefore making your comments a load of bollox generally

Hey Bubblie70

I've sampled the now commercially popular V for a number of years...Smaller London Fest's and smaller outer of London......I am a Glasto virgin and would if we are all still here next June to make a plan to meet you to have that cider girl!

I've stayed away as it's just so massive...I prefer the small and intimate. Mind you none of the fest's are that intimate anymore....Funnily enough I stayed at a Beach Bungalow site in Koh Samui called 'Shambala'!!!!!

Anway I agree with what you are saying to Gladitsummer. I do believe GIS that you forgot your original quote 'load of bollx generally' which is a very sweeping statement seeing as you are now saying you have never been.......

Everyone to their own opinion otherwise it would be a boring old world but choose you wording carefully my POF friend!!!!!

Gosh Sunny you more diplomatic with your words that i am but never mind

As for Shambala have a look at it, its on the August bank Holiday weekend and the location of it although its a secret until you get your tickets is really stunning and like i have said its got the same magical feel that glastonbury has its just its much much smaller, but the same principles apply, your allowed your own drink, food and campfires are permitted and encouraged

As for the cider bus next june, yep i will be there so hopefully see you there my lady but remember you need to be there first thing on the wednesday as that then you really get to explore the site, before the main stages open on the friday and dont worry it might be 2 days but there is just so much to do and so many places to get lost that you will love it

sunny

I meant

sometimes being there is better then watching it

you get the vibe

I was using the watching of porn or footy on tv (as an example)

well its better to be doing it rather then watching it!!

Ha ha phoenix i was a bit slow with that one................O i couldn't agree more with festivals....so much better being int he thick of it...although it's good to reccy some of the bands if they are due to play elsewhere....I was undecided about The Verve as I'd been to a gig last year and someone (whom was a fan of theirs) said they weren't very good...Well they put that right on Sunday for sure.......I know who I'll be watching at V....And what a way to wave goodbye to V!!!

bubblie.....Well I'll def take your advice and get there early....great idea!

Glastonbury or not? We're just gutted 'cos we weren't there
Best act though? and did Jay way hay work it?
Glastonbury is a goog thing. Anyone remember Deeply Vale

Fond memories of Deeply Vale, or Dinglers Dell as we called it.
The guy who organised it was a friend of mine, we made some
mirrors for the occasion, 50 in all. Complete with dope leaves
and magic mushrooms as a printed border, probably collectors
items now.

I think everyone should have the 'Glastonbury experience' at least
once in their lives.

Yeah the Verve were great & yeah there is a lot of music happening at glastonbury but that only accounts for a sample of the pleasure u could encounter, no ones talking about the excellect comedy, circus, theatrical & art, plus club scene all out in the open man its a fantastic experience that we should all do at least once! believe me
